Honestly, I'm very impressed. A pebble hit my windshield while I was on the road and it left a little crack in my windshield. I completely forget about it until I took my car to the wash where the crack expanded. So, with sadness, I began my adventure to find a solid windshield repair in the area without breaking my bank. I tried safelite first, but they gave me a quote of about 500 dollars! Ridiculous! So I continued my search and I stumbled upon this as boy. I used the online quote system which gave me a really good price of about 280 which was a lot more reasonable than safelite. After submitting my information to the website, I received an email from John. I asked if he could come two days later in the morning. To which he replied that he couldn't, but he could send one of his guys instead. This is where tony comes in. First, he's super nice and knowledgeable. I could not be happier with the service from John at Budget Glass. My car was broken into and John was out the next morning at my office to replace the driver's side vent window. While he did so, his assistant (didn't catch her name) went through the car and cleaned out all the broken glass (I was seriously not expecting that). I am very pleased with the work John of Budget Glass did this afternoon. Our SUV had a stone chip on the middle of the windshield. After I called State Farm which did not cover the sealing of the glass because I have the $500 deductible, and called another glass repair service reviewed on Yelp which quoted me twice a much as John, I got John come over to my house in 2 hours. He sealed and repaired the pea size chip in 45 minutes. He even cleaned the windshield. He is pleasant, hardworking, and very reasonable. I definitely recommend John of Budget Glass. read more

John was super nice and helpful, but unfortunately it was a specialty piece and he took apart the original piece of glass wrong and small pieces of glass fell into the body of my trunk. He said he would return later in the day with a Shopvac to fix it, but then sent his helper who argued with me that he couldn't get the glass out and it was just stuck in there forever now unless they took apart the entire trunk. I reached out to John to see if he would give it another look and he said he would get back to me and ghosted me instead. Now my trunk makes an annoying rattling sound and I have to pay someone else a couple hundred dollars to fix it. Cheap glass repair probably not worth the money I've saved for the inconvenience it has caused. read more

Got to edit my review here. Turns out the wrong glass was placed in the car, and the sensors for the lane-keep-assist wouldn't work as a consequence. The dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, and Honda couldn't recalibrate through the windshield. I had a nightmare of a time trying to get my insurance company to pay for the new glass, install, and second attempt at recalibration. The whole experience costed me a ton of time on the phone and an upset wife. I'm sure Budget Glass would be great for older cars without all the fancy sensors, but this sensor technology is too new and sensitive. I don't like leaving a bad review, but Yelp doesn't seem to give me the option to just delete my original review all together, so I'll leave it at 3 stars which per Yelp means "A-OK." I just can't leave a 5 star review after all this hassle. This is a business that deserves a high rating. My wife's Honda CRV had a crack in the windshield, so I found Budget Glass on Yelp. The guy who answered the phone, John, is really nice and helpful. He had me text pictures of the windshield as there were questions if the car had lane-keep assist and rain detection, which I could not immediately answer (again, my wife's car). John figured it out from the photos, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. He has a roving business, and will come to your house or workplace and repair the glass on site. Tony is the guy who came out, another friendly guy who efficiently replaced the windshield. I think it took him slightly more than an hour to do the job. I had already contacted my insurance company and had the claim number, which I gave to John. John took my credit card number and charged me my deductible, and filed the rest with my insurance company. I haven't had to deal with a car issue in a while, but this was the most pleasant car repair experience I've ever had. To recap: friendly, knowledgable repairmen (John and Tony), efficient (about an hour), readily available (next day repair), roving (came to my house), worked with my insurance company. Update: I do appreciate that he gave me my money back and although he was trying to "make it right", I really don't think it should've happened in the first place. I'm upping the star from 1 to 2 because he gave me a refund, and cause I promised I'd revise my review but think about all the extra effort I have to do, by going to get it re-done again by someone else? Just saying.... anyways, wish his company well. John did a bad job on my windshield replacement. He either didn't install it correctly or used the wrong size... I asked him multiple times about it and he kept saying it will expand. I've talked to other professionals about it and they all said that was a really crappy job after they saw it and even told me that there's no way that type of molding will expand. He put it off for some hours and then he tried to put it off for another week after that. I spoke to John and he was very hesitant to help me out. I will include pictures and you can see for yourself the work he did. He finally said that he is willing to come back out to take care of it for me but would have to order a new trim/mold and glue that onto the window and cut out the current trim/mold. I thought, no way that may not be secure so I asked for my money back. Oh and I forgot to mention, he even put a scratch on the left upper corner of my car while changing the windshield. I strongly suggest that he put up some pictures of his own while fixing or replacing windshields. read more

We planned on meeting at noon (on the phone and through text). I get a call at 11am saying "I would be here in 15min" while I was at work. We agreed on noon I tell him. "Alright, we'll meet at noon" he writes back. At 12.20pm, nobody is here. I contacted the owner of the business and got told that John would be here at 1pm (?!). John makes it at 1.10pm with no sorry, nothing. He replaced my read passenger-side window a bit brutally I found, breaking a piece (and not telling me anything). Whatever. He puts on the new window without cleaning the glass pieces that were inside even though he told me he would clean it 15min before. (??) And tells me "now my job is done, the window goes up and down, but if I were you I wouldn't use that window much because the glass pieces will cut the cable and the window won't work". Almost wanted to laugh, never heard something like this. I was so tired of it that I didn't want to argue. Price was $189 (dropped by owner from $217 after his employee was late). Even though the quote on their own website showed $169. Last but not least, they asked for a $20 fee if I was paying by card. WHAT? I don't recommend their service as I simply didn't find them honest. read more

I called several highly reviewed places on yelp to get quotes about replacing the windshield. Had to call several times before the call was connected to John. The quote I got from John is not the cheapest but a fair one (FYI, safelite is the most expensive one), but he does a mobile service (come to your place) which is exactly what I need. John showed up on time (8 am in the morning) and started to work right the way. I noticed that John put his headphone while performing the work and had to answer few calls (he also missed some as he skipped calls at some critical steps). So I asked him whether he is an one-man team now and he told me that his wife used to help him, but had to stay home now to take care of the newborn. John finished the job in about an hour and patiently answered my questions about replacing the windshield ( He knows well about what he is doing). I recommend the service as John gets the job done smoothly and is a pleasant person to talk with. The downside is that you may have to call few times before getting to him since I am not sure how long he will remain an one-man team. read more

Called Budget Glass on Saturday afternoon, and John said he could have my 2 smashed in windows replaced where I work on Monday as soon as the glass was delivered to them. Had tried a couple other options first, but they were closed, would take much longer, or needed me to go to them. They had my windows fixed (including the back window with heating elements and a wiper blade to deal with) in about an hour and before 1 pm (I wasn't really keeping track because I was able to keep working while they worked on my car). They did a really nice job vacuuming the glass too. I can still see some tiny shiny particles embedded in the carpet of the trunk where my the window on my hatchback trunk door was completely smashed in, but they really did a thorough job vacuuming. They took my deductible payment with a credit card reader on his smart phone which was convenient, and I got the receipt in my email. p.s. don't leave anything visible in your car when you are in San Francisco. Even if it is obviously not worth any money, they might hope for something hidden under it, or just mistake it for something in the dark. read more
