I'm only giving 3 stars because of the experience I had w/their vehicles NOT the personnel. The lady at the counter was busy when I went in but she was still professional and courteous. The 3 stars is because I was given a car that had the TPMS light on and was told that it was just a glitch in the electrical system and not to worry about it because tires were checked. For my peace of mind I took the car to Costco to have the tire pressure checked. Found out two front tires were pumped to 50psi and the back right tire had a small nail in it. Took the car back to exchange for another car. Agent was apologetic and helpful. Had a minor issue w/the total cost of my rental and called the manager (Douglas). He was pleasant and listened to my concerns and adjusted the total to reflect the correct amount. If kind agents are more important to you then your safety then I'd recommend this location to you. read more

Called me minutes before my scheduled pickup time to tell me they didn't have the truck. The voicemail said they canceled the reservation, yet I was still charged $150??? Had to call corporate and get it reversed, and I'm watching the transaction like a hawk to make sure they actually send the money. Absolutely insane to be charged when I never set foot in the store. read more

Didn't have the car we reserved. The car they gave us was front wheel drive. They told us it was all wheel drive suv. We thought we were getting a 4 wheel drive that is what we reserved. Got stuck for three days in a driveway in Truckee ca, Lost three days of skiing because of it. It is impossible to contact Budget direct to find out if they had a SUV 4 wheel or all wheel drive we can exchange. They were also very rude to us when we picked up the car and didn't seem to care that they did not have the RAV4 we reserved. read more

Horrible, I repeat, HORRIBLE service. Not only was the process of renting difficult, but the man working there was unkind and used profane language to me. He was aggressive and vulgar. After we returned from our trip, we vacuumed out the car. The man working there said we did a fine job cleaning it, but then his mood instantly switched. My friend asked that the man working there stop threatening me, and he lost it. I would rather walk than rent from here ever again. Please, especially if you have children, choose a different rental business. We feared for our safety. read more

This by far the worst rental car place I have ever experienced. Here is my story... 1) waited in line for 30 min while Cindy helped 2 people ( next to me was another rental car company and the one girl working help 6 people in the same amount of time. 2) received my car dirty 3) my car had damage and when I called to ask about it Cindy accused me of damaging it and to come back, which caused me to miss my meeting. She was so rude and not helpful at all. If you hate your job so bad, don't work there. When I get there the guys tell me the damage is "no big deal" and to leave. I was so confused.. I asked to speak to the manager (Collin) and waited for about 20 min and he never came to see me. Conclusion... I would rather pay double in price then to EVER come here again. This is the first time I've rented a car from this location, which is not at the Reno airport. I reserved the car a week in advance through Hotwire. When my wife and I arrived, the car hadn't been cleaned. All 4 seats in the front and back had stains, and the floor hadn't been vacuumed. There was an unpleasant old food smell inside the car. The woman offered to vacuum the car, which we accepted. So we waited for about 15 minutes before it came back. The stains looked bad, but I didn't think they would ooze anything nasty. There weren't any other cars for us to rent since this car was apparently delivered to this location from somewhere else. And we needed to get on the road. When we arrived at our first destination a few hours later, my wife's pants had an oily stain on the butt, a couple inches in diameter. One of the stains on her seat oozed an oil-like substance onto her pants. We were able to get a towel, folded up in layers, so she could sit there without staining any more clothes for the rest of the trip, which lasted 3 more days. On return, I told the guy about the nasty seats and my wife's pants. He was apologetic and said the person before me must have spilled something on them. He took 10 bucks off the bill. I won't be using this location again since the cars aren't always cleaned, even with a week's notice, and there's no other cars available if anything is wrong. read more

This was the worst car rental experience ever in 20 years. We will definitely stay w Enterprise in the future. Guy behind desk was very rude and condescending. When they refused my brother in laws card because it was from an online banking system ( not brick and mortar) i had to pay it w my card. Extra charges for extra driver. Who would expect an 18 hr trip to be done w one driver? When we stepped outside to discuss arrangements and for me to call husband we were accused of cussing him upon reentry of building. He saw and heard all from his cameras supposedly. And then a background check?? To rent a car. Whatever! Family had to get to Texas! After all signed and payed for we go out to inspect car. Not even the car he said but again whatever. Proceeds to tell us no smoking in cars. They have a baby. They don't smoke in the car. But he KNOWS we will because he can smell it on us. Again need car. Longer story shorter. 18 hour trip took took 23 hrs due to engine light coming on and car cutting out half way there. In the middle of nowhere in the middle of night. Limp it rest of way. Want to charge $ 467. For two hours late ?? Oh no! But the original desk agent is the main reason. Rude! Condescending! I outright own my own home and vehicles you jerk. My worst experience with a car rental. They gave me a new Chevy Cruze. After forty-five minutes of driving in blistering heat (couldn't get AC on) "Change Oil Soon" lit up the dashboard. Called the 800 number for Budget and was told to take the car back to Sparks where I got it. Another 45 minutes back with no AC. The man at Budget who rented me the car said, "Don't worry about the 'Change Ol Soon' message. I asked him why there was no manual for the car in the glove compartment. He told me that they hide them under the spare tire in the trunk so customers won't steal them. Without the manual, there was no way to know hw to use the AC, the Infotainment Center, the headlights, etc. He didn't offer to switch out cars either. Stay away from this place!!!!! read more

I would like to make my fellow residents of Sparks/Reno aware of a busines you should avoid. I would rate this busines and manager even lower than a one but the rating system does not offer it. A negative rating would be appropriate for the Budget Truck and Car rental on Marietta way . We dropped our rental car off after they closed on a Saturday, and 4 days later we were billed for an excessive cleaning fee of 42.00, plus an additional half day that We did not have the car. They claimed we trashed the car, took it off road and had pets in the car. Gum and drinks were all over the car according to them. We never had a dog in the car, no gum was in the car and my wife and her sister cleaned out the car prior to it being returned. We went straight to Twin Falls Idaho, dropped off our grand children and returned the next next day, never once taking the car off road, as if I had time. My wife and her sister cleaned out the interior of the car and drink holders with a damp towel, there was no drinks spilled in this car. My wife and I are in our late fifties and own a Jeep Wrangler and 4x4 Chev PU, a Ford Escape would not be my choice of vehicles to 4 wheel in. I have read several reviews from different web sites and this is a regular practice for this business and I view this as theft. The Manager claims to have pictures, but refuses to send them to us and Budgets own corporate office states there are no pictures . If this was not enough when my wife called to ask what this cleaning charge was about, the manager yelled and threatened her, but when I got on the phone he was not so aggressive. I don't believe we want Businesses like this in our community and I have lived in the Sparks area for 55 years. I will be sure to have the behavior of this business known to as many as possible. Avoid this place like the plague, I pay extra if I have to and rent from the airport. The manager here is beyond unhelpful and seems like he gets a kick out of how much he can screw you. I've rented from here a few times and in those times I've had a couple of cars that smelled like feet, dirty cars with past renters items still in it and had to deal with this manager who is rude and probably needs to reeducate himself on costumer service. I rent enough to know that's now how it should be, so I've taken my business elsewhere. read more

Never ever rent here. The customer service is absolutely the worst I have ever encountered. During my very long wait I watched the manager argue with 6 different customers. One guy was half awake. The other guy tells me to look outside and basically refused to show me what cars are available. I couldn't tell what were rental cars and what was a personal car I finally get the half asleep hungover guy to come out and point out what us for rent. Sign on front door says opens at 7:30 we were there and waited till 7:47 until someone decided to show up no Hi just walked right by us and went in shutting the door behind him um OK ? Then the same guy came back and let us in 5 min later proceeded to tell us we had to wait till after 8 to get the car because that's the pick up time we put which was 8ish . it was after 8 by this point . Finally someone decided they wanted to work and begrudgingly helped us which was the same super not helpful guy from before with the personality of a wet tissue and the car we got was filthy inside and out. I do not recommend budget car rental place at all. Horrible service they continued to over charge my card and gave me very rude service and instead of trying to improve it they charged me a 250/dollar cleaning fee for "smoking in the car" when I never once smoked in the car I always smoked outside of it so for having our rental for 7 days it costs us 1000 dollars. And we have been renting from them for some time now and they lost a very good and loyal customer. read more

If a "no star rating" was an option they would have got it. I reserved a mid size car through Costco a week prior to pick up date. I was running an hour late from the time I said that I would pick up the car so I called and let them know. When I arrived to pick up the car the manager (Douglas Brizuela) said that they had rented it to someone else and he had no way of getting me another car on this day. The only vehicle he had was a 12 seat gas hog of a van. I was trying to ask why he gave away my reserved car in a nice manner but he had no answers and the discussion got a little heated and then he kicked me out of the building. This manager is the biggest jerk and shouldn't be in customer service. He is giving Budget and Costco a bad name. Avoid the Marietta Way rental location. read more
