I had my car towed at auto zone in San Pedro, I had my car there only for 2-3 minutes and one I came back they guy asked for $200 to release the car. He told me that I had 10 minutes to get the money from ATM, which I did in less than 10 minutes. Once I made it back and gave hime the money he said that he has to call a guy to confirm and once he did; he mentioned that now I have to pay $350 instead because he added the dollies. I told him that we had a deal for $200 and to run all the way to atm to get the money. This is so unfair and unprofessional and it looks like they just to rip people off. read more

I was invited to drop by and visit a friend in the area and parked on a green zone for a few minutes. Today is Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 afternoon and I understand the restrictions imposed on such gated communities. Okay, Budget Towing towed my car. I called the towing company and the tow truck driver stated that for those 15 minutes of tow at about 3.9 miles to their garage, he charged me an unforgiving $535.00 with no excuse. I humbly explained what transpired , he claimed to have spoken to his supervisor which I earnestly believe didn't really happen. He advised me to go to his garage and will be there in 10-15 minutes. I waited for an hour in a 54 degree temperature despite explaining to him that I have to go back to my real work. Firmly, he claims that you have to pay $535 or you can't pick up your car. I also shared my fear of damage to my car during his towing process, he showed me a photo that my car was lifted and with two wheels at the rear axle cause it's a 4-wheel drive SUV. I always believe in following the law and articulated this at work and even with families and friends but Budget Towing is in cahoots with HOA officers to squeeze the lemon out of law abiding citizens. $550 dollars for a few minutes and making your victims suffer further with so much disrespect to me, is pure evil and disconcerting. No worries I took the liberty of looking it up on the City of Long Beach's website and your business license is expired, matter fact it's in collections, has been for a long time. So you are operating business illegally. You also don't have a valid business license in the City of Bellflower, where you towed my parents vehicle from. Hello, I am reaching out regarding racist customer service and unfair parking practices at Evolve South Bay in Carson, CA 90745. I was towed for parking in front of my apartment, while I was taking out my new bed out of the car. The person who towed my car was very unprofessional and verbally attacking me and my boyfriend. Evolve South Bay allows illegal parking for all of their events. The tow truck driver allows for cars to be parked all along the red areas in front of the leasing office, and the pool. However, if a hard - working resident is parked in front of their apartment, while taking out items, they will tow you. This is selective enforcement and Evolve South Bay is racist and has unfair parking practices. It's clear that Evolve South Bay is illegally practicing profit-sharing with the towing company they have contracted. If Evolve South Bay had fair parking, all the rules would apply to everyone. They give a kickback to small security services in the Long Beach area in exchange to tow people for exorbitant fees. Editing review: After reading so many reviews that they are predatory towing, here is a picture of one of their drivers/trucks sitting in the parking lot waiting to tow people. IN A FIRE LANE no less. Someone should tow them. This company is operating on a suspended business license. They are doing business as Budget Towing, but their business license is under Southern California Bts. The State of California has a lien on their business and the business license has been suspended since Jan 2025. You can double check this by looking on the CA Secretary of State business search. Per their Department of Transportation number, 2705854 , they do not have proper licensing or insurance. The company loves saying that they have been in business for 30 years, however, that business's initial filing date was not till 11/18/2010. While not required, they ended their membership with the California Tow Truck Association in 2023. There is no record that this company has an occupational license with the DMV. You can tell by all the reviews that they practice predatory towing- they even towed an undercover police officer recently! The Apartment Complex had our car towed. They left a notice at 11 pm at night. First Warning and immediately towed us even though we have a one warning provision. We accidentally parked the car in a permit only area late at night. We called Budget to ask about our car the next morning when the caregiver realized it was towed. The person on the call was rude and treated us like garbage. I understand that Budget towed the car per instructions from the apartment complex manager but if they could talk to people like they are humans vs. treating them like criminals, it would be nice. The best part is most of us who accidentally get cars towed are educated professionals with good manners and some class and then we get to talk to uneducated ignorant workers at Budget Towing who think they are superior and talk to people who are nice about it like they are trash. First you assume they stole your car, then I call the tow company to pick up my car the lady said office is closed til 9am. I got to work late and also left early to get my car. I get there at 11:30am and they charged me $420!! I said for 2-3 hours, they charge set up fee, tow fee, storage fee, and probably a fee to talk to me. My boyfriend's car was towed Sunday feb 16, 2025 by "VARIAN LAROSE". ( tall black guy with old braids and chipped teeth ). He had been targeting my boyfriend's car as well as his family and mine, in the gated community they stay in. We saw him leaving the gated community with my boyfriend's car and asked for a drop fee since he hadn't left the premises & he immediately started being rude and said they don't do drop fees. My boyfriend and I followed him to the car lot to pay the $500 fee to get the car out even though we were literally 2 minutes away from the tow lot and he had the car for all of 5 minutes. Once we got out the car to ask for a boss, he immediately got upset, calling my boyfriend out his name , making threats saying "I know where you stay b****" , "I know your daddy b****" & more. We then asked to pay for the car and he told us he was going to hold it overnight , i'm assuming to be petty and get more money out of us. Eventually, he pulls a pocket knife out on us , (we're unarmed) , threatening our lives just to prove that he had more power over the situation. We left & called the police & within 15 minutes he was already gone with the car and didn't return for 3 hours +. The owners were worthless as well, they still charged $260 to get the car out even though lives were threatened & they had no regard for us or the fact that they have an employee who lacks respect & attempted to harm us. Today I made the mistake of parking in the line of fire at the Home Depot on Alondra in the city of Paramount, Budget Town Truck took my truck, I accept the mistake but I am posting this announcement for the following; when they gave me my truck back, I checked the entire truck to make sure that they did not damage it during the pickup, but what surprised me the most is that the doors were unlocked, who of them did it and how it happened I do not know, is it legal or illegal for them to do that without permission, I will check my personal things more thoroughly; also in the truck's system it showed several errors on the dashboard when I turned it on, I took photos as proof of evidence in case of any inconvenience that may arise in the future. On Jan 3rd Budget Towing was dispatched to Jack and the Box in Palos Verdes to tow multiple vehicles. A cashier at the restaurant called them and they started towing. Jack in the Box has one single tiny parking only while dining sign (see picture) for 20 spaces behind the restaurant. Jack district manager told me they never called. He lied! He said he would have his supervisor call me she never did. He lied! He believes they are not doing anything wrong in towing cars from people who are using those parking space. He Lied! There Yelp review is next. I contacted the City of Lomita and next I will reach out to their corporate offices. I even called the CHP. My car was parked in a legal HC space and was dragged about 50 feet (See Pictures) before the driver was stopped. The driver #1 saw the placard, realized his mistake and lowered the car. The wife blocked his way until the police arrived. Then a racist's driver # 2 (See Picture) appeared and cussed out my wife he used every racist term in the book trust me I can't repeat what was said here. He actually told the other driver to tow the b@#$% car. He refused and walked away! When I arrive 2 mins later 4 Lomita Sheriffs were there and taking a reports are keeping the peace, I had few words for the drive Brandon. Once I calmed down had the police educated both the drivers about the law and assessed the damage. We went to see the tow truck company manager Dino and he said he believed every word we said and he knew this particular driver had issues. He said, he was going to fire him. I doubt he did but that's between them. He checked the damage to the car and said they would cover it. He said he would call us back on Monday. He never called! He Lied When we called him he refused to give us the insurance information. Said we needed to have our insurance company reach out... He Lied! We had our insurance contact them and BUDGET TOWING IS STILL REFUSES TO PROVIDE THEIR INSURANCE INFO! I am loosing patience and I am going to reach out to as many people as possible before I take them to court... I had a visitor who came to my house, and he was only going to drop off his bags and guitar and then drive his car to the visitor parking, for which he had a pass. Before we could open the door, a tow truck from this company quickly lifted the car off the ground and told us promptly that if we wanted the car back it would be $200 now, or $500 if towed to the yard. He was completely unreasonable, and not very professional. He refused to tell us who he was, or provide a card when we asked. He said to just take a photo of the truck, which we did. We are beginning to explore what legal options we have, if any. This company apparently preys on people just to make a buck, and is not deserving of anyone's business. I wish I could give 0 stars. They towed us and then were so mean!! I explained that the property owner had the parking policy in an unlit area and we were just visiting. The "employee" looked at the photos and said "it's not our fault if the sign isn't to your liking". I kindly asked if he could call the project manager and see if there's a way we could get the fee lowered and the "employee" said "I'm JUST an employee"... as if it wasn't his job to provide service. From there he made very condescending comments and belittled me and my friend for parking in the wrong.. telling us to take accountability for our actions as if we didn't just bring cash to accommodate their insane fees.. So I then asked if he could call his boss so I would speak to someone who COULD help me. He said "no.. I'm JUST an employee. If I call my boss he will charge you more"... charge me more as if $585 cash was already a discount?? We handed "the employee" the wrong amount and then reviewed our bank statement to make sure we got the right amount out.. I then ran to the car to check out envelope. This is a total SCAM operation! Once they get their greedy claws on to your car the car owner is helpless. Had my car towed from behind a private business in Lomita as it had been there for 36 hours. Found out by calling the Lomita Sheriff that Budget Towing Service had towed it last night. 1) It took several hours for someone to call me back as they don't have anyone answering the phone directly as it goes through an answering service. 2) When the "driver" finally called back he quoted me $400 to get my car back. 3) Even though the car was towed in Lomita it was being stored in West Long Beach! Had to take an Uber from Lomita to LB. 4) Received a phone call back from the "driver" stating he misquoted me and that they had to charge me an extra $110 because it was a Saturday. 5) If the car owner paid by debit card or credit card they would charge an extra 5%. It's understandable why they preferred cash! 6) By the time I got out of there my bank account was $585 poorer. 7) The way the unscrupulous owner of this business operates is that he uses two "nice guys" at the office who are totally blameless and serve as fronts to calm the crazed car owners down when they arrive to get their cars that have been taken hostage. He's the "bad guy" on the phone that makes increasingly outrageous demands of the car owners if they want their cars back. I have no doubt that all of these tow truck companies operate in a similar way. I called Budget Towing service on 8/15/22 @ 1:24pm and spoke with Belinda. I told her that I needed my car towed from one detached garage to another less than 1 block away and that I needed my 3 tires inflated. She quoted me $200 after she checked with the owner and said it would take one hour (arriving at 2:30pm) for the driver to perform the service for me. Belinda called me back at 2pm and said that it would be another hour (now the updated arrival time is 3pm) before the driver (Mr. Edgar) could get to me which turned into 1 1/2 hours because of a previous job. Once the driver (Mr. Edgar) with the flatbed tow arrived at 3:41pm, the person who had the air device on the regular tow truck (Frankie) were both supposed to meet at my address and around the same time. Mr. Edgar placed a call to get Frankie's ETA. We both waited about 25 minutes more (which now was 4:15pm). Frankie parked the tow truck with the air device and I asked him if there was any way I could be compensated for time loss. Frankie then placed a call to Belinda and she was only willing to give me $25 off the quoted price of $200. Frankie was able to get her and the owner to agree to $50 off which now brought my total to $150. I told Frankie that amount was unfair and not satisfactory. He said that was the best they could do. Once Mr. Edgar inflated my tires, Frankie helped push my car in position to face the flat bed. Then Frankie drove off and left us both. He didn't stay to help guide or make sure the tail pipes didn't get scratched on the pavement as my car was being pulled onto the flatbed. He did not stay or offer to help his coworker push my car into the detached garage. I helped Mr. Edgar guide and push my own car into the garage. I decided to call Budget Towing Service to ask for fair and comparable compensation and to explain the events that led up to that point. Belinda answered the phone and I explained to her what happened. She then handed the phone to the owner. I explained again what happened to me and he refused to give me fair compensation for my time and effort. Who will charge their customers $160 to tow a car 660 feet on a flatbed and put air in the tires for $40 (total of $200)? BUDGET TOWING SERVICE WILL. The towing service was finally complete around 5pm, but at whose expense - MINE! The customer service lacks interpersonal skills, team work, respect, appreciation of customers, fairness and empathy. I LIVE at 285 w. 6 th st. My Amazon gate pass would not open my gate. Consequently my car and my guests car was towed. When I went to pick it up the worker, Darwin said I made racial epithets so he, on his own discretion said he would not release my vehicle. That being said my friends car which too was towed happens to be Hispanic. The employee, Darwin said that because I made racist remarks he would not release my vehicle to me. I am now missing a day of work and have no transportation because of this individual. This liar is holding my car as collateral on a falsehood.
