Some of the best matcha I have ever tasted! I feel like this is how all flavored (or non flavored) matcha drinks should be. Every single drink we got was *perfection*. What we tried: Guava (secret flavor) Blueberry (secret flavor) Honey Lavender Buena Matcha's drinks all have this phenomenal balance of earthiness from the matcha without giving you that bitter aftertaste, creaminess from the milk, and just a very subtle hint of sweetness from your chosen flavor that you taste it throughout the drink without it being too overpowering. It's like this unmistakable formula or triad of flavor that they just had perfected, and it definitely won't go unnoticed from the very first sip you take. And because they measure everything, the taste of matcha in every drink you get is just incredibly consistent. The shop is not too big, but it's so aesthetically pleasing. I absolutely love it when the look and vibe of the space matches the product they're selling, and this place gave exactly that. The staff were all so sweet and nice too! Everything was just two thumbs up here. If you're around the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area, make sure to stop by. You will not regret it. And while you're at it, make sure to ask them what their secret flavors are for the day!

I went to Buena Matcha a couple weeks ago on a trip to Palm Springs. The ambiance was very nice and chill, it was pretty to be inside. With a handful of options for drinks, it was easy to decide what I should get and made the experience way better so that I am not looking through so many options and taking a while to decide. The drink itself was pretty good! I ordered the Strawberry Matcha. I liked the addition of the freeze dried strawberries. Parking was easy to find. I love their theme they got on their signs and their napkins! Overall good experience!

After I entertained my relatives for a lunch. I had to stop by for a refuel. My body needed a fresh cold drink. So I checked the local matcha place (I live about 90 minutes away) and I found this! Saw the menu and decided to order Lavender matcha with oat milk and coconut matcha with oat milk . Matcha tastes pretty good. Service is pretty decent and fast. The Ambiance is mellow and the temperature is nice especially for the local area.

What a cute shop! I loved everything from the start to finish. I believe we were greeted by the owners which is always such a personable touch. The flavor options are a small, well curated bunch. I chose the strawberry with almond milk. It had a delicious natural strawberry taste, I would have loved some strawberry compote in there or something of the sort (that would've pushed them to 5 stars). The aesthetic is very calming and moody; I enjoyed their use of darker colors vs. the typical bright matcha shops. They also have this adorable corner of ceramics made by a local artist I believe. All together it was a lovely experience and I will definitely make this a stop whenever I visit!

Was out near Joshua Tree National Park, and was looking for a good quality Matcha and I definitely found one! Nothing but good things to say about this place! I love their motto! They use all housemaid syrups from the fruit off their trees. Solid ingredients with excellent quality Matcha from Japan! I tried both the guava Matcha latte, but my favorite was the lavender Matcha latte! my friend tried the strawberry Matcha latte and said it was amazing! The owner's mother was working the café...she was such a sweetheart... Really enjoyed talking with her! If you're in the area, go check this place out! It's definitely worth it!

TLDR: Nice high quality matcha but overpriced especially given it's not a place that customers can stay at and enjoy. I stopped in and got the strawberry matcha which was about $11-$12 for the smaller size offered with regular milk. The matcha was high quality and syrups are homemade; however I feel there's similar establishments in Redlands selling a drink like this for at least $3 cheaper but then again Buena Matcha probably has a monopoly in this area. Friendly service. No restroom inside. No seating inside, limited seating outside. Parking slightly difficult - there is a single row in front and a smaller lot in the back. Street parking available as well. They sell several handmade items inside and syrups.

I got their Banana matcha and it was so good! It was light and refreshing for the hot day. The banana was light and wasnt overpowering. I love how they measured their matcha so the consistency is accurate everytime. The workers were nice and helpful. Its a small shop woth no seating inside or outside. Theres limited parking but there's some street parking. Their prices are a bit steep though if you get a different milk alternative...almost $10 for the drink.

I absolutely loved this place. I don't live here and I was visiting the area, but every time I travel, the first thing I do is look for a great matcha spot and Buena Matcha kept popping up all over my social media. I had high expectations and it honestly exceeded them. Not only was the matcha amazing, but I really appreciated that they offer several milk options. I ordered my drinks with oat milk and tried both a coconut matcha and a strawberry matcha, and they were delicious. They have a wide variety of syrups, all made in house, which is a huge plus and really sets them apart. You can taste the care in every drink. They also sell everything you need to make matcha at home, which I loved. The space itself is super cozy and makes you want to stay for a while. The service was great, very welcoming and attentive. They hand whisk the matcha, use 100% ceremonial grade matcha, and the whole experience feels intentional and elevated. On top of that, the place is incredibly aesthetically pleasing. If you're visiting the Palm Springs or Palm Desert area, the location is perfect. There are lots of shops around, the views nearby are beautiful, and it's just a really nice area to walk around and enjoy. Overall, this place is a solid 10 out of 10. I would absolutely come back and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves matcha or wants to experience really well made matcha in a beautiful setting.

THE BEST MATCHA OF MY LIFE!! Seriously some of the best most refreshing & balanced matcha I've ever had. Their coconut one is my favorite, but would recommend anything there. Each drink comes out as its own little mini piece of artwork & it's always delicious. This place is definitely expensive, but if I'm willing to splurge, this is the first place I go to. So so cute inside too. There isn't any seating area, this is more of a grab & go spot, so I wouldn't bring any work or studying here with the expectation to stay. People here are always kind & friendly- especially the owners!

I ordered an iced matcha with vanilla & oat milk with banana. I didn't realize it was just banana slices. Despite that though it was pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised upon mixing it. Beautiful place! The employees were kind and helpful. I ended up getting a blueberry matcha with whole milk. The girl that took my order informed me that their pastries were half off today so I also got some sort of apple pastry. Overall experience was amazing! The environment is incredible, they had great music, employees were kind, matcha was a 10/10, pastry was also good. Only thing I would change is they don't have indoor seating. What a great spot! I'm extremely picky when it comes to matcha and I was pleasantly surprised! A nice strong matcha, perfect ratio, not watered down or too milky. I HIGHLY recommend the Banana Cinnamon Matcha. The syrup flavors came through strong but were not overly sweet. The owner helped us at the register and was so kind. Buena Matcha is hands-down the best matcha I've ever had! My whole family is obsessed. They use organic, ceremonial grade A matcha, and you can really taste the difference. All the flavors are made in-house with real, fresh ingredients--nothing artificial. My favorite flavor is honey cinnamon, but I also love the banana cinnamon and their rotating secret flavors like pistachio and blueberry (don't miss them if they're available!). We've been fans since their pop-up days and are so excited about their beautiful new permanent location--it's such a great space. The Matcha drink was very delicious and the service was excellent! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the employees. They were very friendly and helpful in explaining the different flavors and drinks. I highly recommend them to everyone in the Coachella Valley. Buena Matcha is not only the first Matcha Bar in the Desert but the best ! The staff is always super friendly and outgoing and the drinks are not only aesthetically pleasing but Taste great ! Seen some comments about the price but let's be honest if you appreciate the craft and aesthetic it's worth it plus most coffee shops are upwards of about 7-8 bucks for a latte Not far off ! if you want mediocre matcha that tastes like milk and a awkward staff that couldnt say "goodmorning" or "welcome in!" this is your place! walked in to silence and all the workers staring at me as i walked up. the banana matcha taste nothing like banana, just cause theres a few dried banana slices on top did not make it banana flavored. same goes for the strawberry. better off going somewhere else read more

Visited this past Saturday after seeing all the type on the internet about this place. I'll just say- the matcha is really watered down. I thought it was just me, but seeing other similar reviews on here about that. I noticed that their slogan is that they heal matcha trauma, but honestly I felt kinda traumatized because my stomach HURT after drinking this matcha. Additionally, I don't think it's worth the price point. $9 for a matcha is kinda crazy. I think people are used to grassy/earthy flavors from matcha causing them not to like Matcha. I feel that Buena Matcha's watered down matcha brings the appeal to others because it doesn't have those notes of grassy/earthy flavors since it's so watered down. I will say the banana syrup is good but again, watered down. Wouldn't come back honestly. read more

10/10!!!! Amazing. Best matcha I've had in the desert. First off what made it a good experience was the service. The lady at the cashier was just a joy to talk to. So sweet so personable. That's how all staff should be I just felt like I was talking to a friend. Yummy house made syrups. Definitely on the pricier side but didn't mind because matcha is expensive now but my drink was $11. The matcha was great bc it was hand whisked. I loved this especially bc there were no chunks in the syrup. Usually strawberry matcha have puree or jam but this was perfect. Just syrup. Will be visiting again loved read more

Now for the honest, the tea is about average, I do appreciate the ample ordering options of non dairy milks. This time I ended up getting a coffee with boba as my treat vs my normal tea order. The staff is always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The boba was also VERY good and well made vs some places that provided under cooked or over cooked boba. A coffee with boba and a small tip ran me up almost $10 which is a little expensive for my taste but it IS a treat after all and not an every day buy. Of all the times I've come into this location they always seem to be warm inside and prefer to not run the AC. I tend to sweat a little bit which is a bit of a drag considering that they have tons of seating. I probably wouldn't drive to the river JUST for boba but if I'm in the area shopping in need of a pick me up to go this would be a good stop.

Update: I already said in my original review that the owner is condescending and instead of proving me wrong he/she doubled down and called me "angry" here and in dm . He/she then asked me in DM "when can you come?" As if i didn't state on my review that I only went bc i was in town.. I'm not going to drive back 2 hours to get reimbursed.. I'd like to think of my $10 as the cost of knowing how this place really works.. this is the exact the attitude I warned people about. He/she didn't address the actual problem: tiny overpriced, watered-down, lazy.. he/she just tried to discredit me like I imagined it. If his/her best response to criticism is gaslighting customers and hiding behind "ceremonial grade" matcha, then they basically admitted the review was spot on. People can spend their money wherever they want but they should know exactly what they're walking into here which is bad drinks and a worse attitude. Original: Was curious about this place after seeing it on IG.. since I was in town, I tried the so called "secret menu" cherry matcha and it was one of the worst drinks I've ever paid for. 10$ for something that tasted like watery milk with a splash of syrup.. nothing balanced or premium about it. The cup was tiny and the flavor was lazy, just like the other "premium" options that are basically regular matcha with overpriced syrups. The whole place looks good for Instagram but that's where the effort stops. if you like paying top dollar for green tinted milk go for it lol. i got the strawberry "matcha latte" (if you can even call it that) and it legit tasted like strawberry milk. plus the cup was so tiny i thought they were messing with me. at least the pastry I tried was good (probably because they don't make them themselves).. place is basically a photo booth, walls are cute but maybe make the drinks taste good?? it's so cramped i literally had to turn sideways so people could squeeze past me. also, workers kept staring at me to hurry up and order. not exactly welcoming and friendly. and i walked 10 min in 115° heat for this?? traumatic.. so many other matcha spots better than this in the valley. read more

My wife and I stopped by because we heard the matcha was good, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We tried the Coconut Cloud, the banana matcha, and the classic matcha latte with honey. All three were delicious--clean flavors, well balanced, and not overly sweet. You can really tell they care about the quality of their matcha. Everyone working there was so friendly and patient with our questions, and we loved browsing the cute ceramics from a local maker while we waited for our drinks. This is easily one of our favorite matcha spots in Southern California and the best one in town. We'll definitely be back to try more! read more
