Our coach hosted a high school golf tournament that I volunteered to help with. Buffalo Creek was, by far, the best course we have ever hosted a tourney at. Everyone (from the pros, to the snack bar, to the cart guys) was so kind and helpful, and truly concerned that we had a great experience. The golf course is in great shape. Some of the holes are tricky , which makes it challenging, but it's a great course. I would highly recommend playing here or hosting a tourney here. I will definitely be returning. read more

Seriously, I have no clue why this place is not highly rated. I have played around Dallas, and we decided to take the 30+ min drive to Heath TX for this course and we were amazed at the course itself. There are beautiful homes around every part of the course, and the course itself is also stunning! The pace is great and they don't book tee times 3 minutes apart so you're rushed. As for the staff, they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the cart girls are always coming by to make sure you're doing good! We play here every Monday now, and won't stop! I am shocked they don't require a membership, because this course deserves it. read more

Top notch, tournament style course. Noticed some of the older reviews dogging this course. The course suffered a city ordinance a while back, which caused the range closure. I had a friend come visit and wanted to take him golfing on a decent course. I have never played on this course and have passed throughseveeal times, it looked well groomed and challenging. I called and was only given an option of leaving a message for a tee time so I left a message and never received a call back, should of saw that as a red flag. I then decided to just go online and book a tee time through their web partner chronogolf which gave a discount if you paid half online, so I did. They failed to mention the course did not have carts on the course and was walking only even though I was charged for carts. When I showed up to the course and was told it was walking only I was shocked because I was charged carts and assumed carts were available. They said they could not give me a refund I had to go through chronogolf and just so happens that chronogolf doesn't give refunds. This is such a SCAM, the course should of at least offered a rain check or at least apologized about it but they could have cared less, they got their money. read more

For the price you pay I'd say not worth it at all. They're charging about $50 a person and for that price with the condition of the course it's just not worth it. Started making the drive out to Stone River Golf Club in Royce and it's the best decision I've made. I can play 18 holes on a good course with very nice and true greens for 20$. read more

I'm updating the 2 star review I gave 09/2017 as the course is under new (the original) ownership. THE COURSE IS GREAT! very friendly and well staffed. there is no longer a running out of range balls issue, as they now disperse balls from the pro shop. every sand trap has nice sand and the greens are always in great shape. they have a drink cart that makes regular rounds and a marshal that goes around the course regularly. an amazing turn around from where the course was in my original post, i'll be there again this weekend! read more

The quality of the facility and the service at Buffalo Creek have continued to slip of late. The course itself is decent with my only real complaint being the lack of sand in bunkers. If they aren't going to put some sand in the bunkers they should just fill them in. (There have been promises of doing some work on the bunkers but action is better than words.) Service has slipped of late as well. The golf staff is not as friendly as they have been in the past and they routinely don't have carts ready for early tee times and the practice facility isn't ready prior to those tee times as well. The bunkers will take time and money to fix. The other items can be improved by working with staff and some attention to detail. BC, please get it together. read more

Greens were recently verticutted. Do not play here for at least 3-4 weeks. Most of the greens are pure dirt. We called the course and asked if the greens were recently punched. They said no, but conveniently failed to mention the planned cutting. read more

Went with a couple of friends yesterday, 9/18/2021, and the course was in goos shape. Make sure you read small print on when the Senior and Discounted rates are available on weekends. Payed 71 for 18 holes with a cart and it is DEFINATELY not a 70 dollar course. I can see 45 or 49 as a full price. Course wa busy and IT WAS SLOW....2 3 some in front of us and we had not trouble keeping up and waited 5 minutes or more on a lot of tees and fairways shots....definately a must play during the week when its cheeper and not so many players read more

Not sure what happened to Buffalo Creek. In the past this track was a very good place. However since 2017 it has been in a slow decline. Bunkers are poor and overall maintenance has dropped off. Hoping for a comeback as the course is needed in Heath. Maybe a new owner or management company will help? BC has a solid Weiskopf / Morrish design, but the upkeep is just not happening at this time. Lots of good clothing discounts in the proshop. read more

I understand people make mistakes (me included). Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I arrived at 6:20 am for my 6:32 tee time (booked online, etc). Around 6:45 someone came to open up the clubhouse and let me know they needed about 10 minutes to open up the shop. Ok...I figure we're all a bit late on occasion, I'm easy going and at least I'm golfing on a Friday right? I walk in 10 minutes later and I was told I could pay, but that they can't let me on the course until 7:30 (it's not yet daylight savings and the sun was up at 6:30 am today). I told them to forget it and left. I received a call later this morning from the new General Manager. I assumed he was calling to offer me a free round of golf. Instead, he chews me out for having been upset and he escalates to the point where all I could do is hang up. read more

Not the course of the glory days but the best in the area for sure. I have played here since early 90's. Joined the players club a 1 1/2 years ago and it's an excellent value for $35/month; especially in peak season. Par 71 Course plays short and tighter from the whites so I would recommend playing the blues if you plan to use your driver much. Pro shop folks are nice and the facilities are in order. read more

I called the clubhouse last night and made a tee time for sunday morning. I asked the person in the pro shop about the condition of the course and he said the course is in great shape and the greens were good. When we got to the fairway on number 1 it looked like they havent been cut in several weeks and sand traps were baren and muddy. Greens were recently plugged at top dressed. There are goat pasture municipal golf courses in better shape for a third of the $65 dollar green fees in dfw. Good company crappy course conditions. read more

Don't waste your time here. I've been here 3 times and have been stuck every time behind a corporate event or slow golfers. The front desk never informs the public that a corporate event is teeing before your tee time. I only gave this two stars because the course is decent. Food options suck. This course has potential but seems to be worked on maybe once a week.. the greens reminded me of shag carpet and the fairways felt like the first cut of the rough.. Don't even get me started on the sand bunkers (mud bunkers). I wouldn't spend $20 on this course, much less a $39 twilight rate. However, if you do waste your money, I advise skipping hole 16. read more

Slowest round of golf I have ever played in my life. Our round started at 10 am and did not finish until just after 4 pm. 6+ hours for 18 holes in 100 degree heat. The cart girls that passed us throughout the round also didn't have water in their coolers. How can you force players to play a 6 hour round in 100 degree weather and not sell water on the course?! The staff allowed 3 5-somes in a row to tee off before 10am and then the Marshalls refused to speed up play. For this reason alone, I will never return to this course. I enjoyed the course, but I can't justify 6+ hours of time on the course when there are so many options elsewhere. Aside from the horrendous pace of play (this made a PGA round seem well paced), the course was in very nice shape. The greens are very firm but roll very well. The pro shop is fairly empty, so come well-stocked. The round is on the higher side for most area courses, but when you factor in the free food in the "all-inclusive" package - it comes out about even. read more

Great layout. Greens in good condition. Traps are horrible, no sand, mostly dirt or hard pan. Many tee boxes are unlevel, and large irrigation system ditches on the fairways. Fees are reasonable and staff nice. read more

Course is very well maintained and recently the driving range was given a facelift (nice improvements) and cart path work was done. This course could benefit by putting a large putting green in between the Pro Shop and the number one T box. Secondly, the existing putting green should be turned into a chip and run practice green. Third, set up a shuttle run for those who want to just use the driving range or provide a cart as Waterview does. A more robust grill and its expansion should be considered. Finally, all of the T boxes need to be reviewed for level ness. Too often the golfer is teeing off by standing on a T box that slopes off too much to both sides which provides a ball above or below ones feet. Right now it seems as if the management after making some nice improvements is running on a shoestring. I recommend making more improvements and charging a little more. read more

Review below was spot on. Greens at this time of the season after the rain we've had in the last month should not be in such bad condition. Why do they aerate the greens at this time of year? The course was challenging and the fairways were in great shape. Stay in the fairway because the rough is thicker here than most courses in the area. Played on 8/21/13 and the front nine greens were great but the back nine greens were sandy and patchy. Review would be higher but those patchy greens were in bad shape. read more

I have been playing Buffalo Creek since early 1990's. It is convenient since I live about 10 minutes away. Used to be a great and beautiful course with No 6 and 16 rated in the Dallas Morning News best courses in Texas. That was the glory days. I have had so many different types of memberships since I joined. Never sure what the rate will be. Currently players club member and rates are low. However, course is not in good shape. Ever since American Golf took over it has been in gradual decline and now it is really showing. There is no sand in the traps and no one is playing them. We just throw the ball out and call it ground under repair. The fairways are fast and hard. Don't try to take a divot, you will injure your wrists. The greens are generally fast, but the grass is starting to die with many bare spots. I love the layout. Too bad American Golf has driven a fine course into the ground, but that is their reputation. read more

First time playing this course. Found it on Golfnow (hint* great deals on Golfnow, book it here). I played on a Thursday morning at 06:17 and I really enjoyed this course. This course is located in a private neighborhood and it was a beauty to play here. There is a clubhouse, driving range, putting green, sand trap, and also banquet hall. The Staff were very friendly and helpful to your needs. The clubhouse had the newest equipment available for sale and they had a small snack bar area (wish it was bigger). I didn;t try the meals so I can not review that. The golf itself was great. The course itself is surrounded by the neighborhood boasting very nice homes and scenery. The tee boxes were well kept, fairways maintained and the greens were great. (Fast I must say). This course was long, I played the Championship tees which were about 7000 yds total? It is somewhat challenging but an amateur shouldn't have a problem. Overall I had a great experience and will be back to play here again. read more

So sad. This used to be one of my favorite golf clubs around Dallas. Stood at the counter w 3 employees behind the counter and still took over 5 minutes to even get started with my tee time payment. On the course, none of the water jugs contained water at 2:00 pm on a 98 degree day. A drink cart was provided which we saw on hole number 2 and never saw again. We played behind several groups where each player was hitting multiple balls and just horribly slow play and NEVER saw a course Marshall, or any other staff to move them along or let us play thru. Finally, the course was not in good shape compared to other courses around Dallas. Was quite disappointed. I mentioned the slow play to the club house employee and got a "hmm". Guess Buffalo Creek will have to go into my Do Not Return category and will be sure to let my friends know. This place has such potential. Do not know what has happened. read more
