Came by during SLO's Farmers Market. Place offers a daily (weekdays and weekend) happy hour from 3 pm to 6 pm. Seating is indoor only. I ordered a Sculpin draft for the happy hour price of $5. A well drink of bourbon and Coke for $4. I ordered the bartender suggested chicken tenders with the Cajun rub and sauce. We came down to the Pub to watch the Bowl game and get a front row seat for the Farmers Market tonight. My guest hasn't been to the SLO market so... M ordered the NY Pastrami sandwich as a wrap, I went for my go to Fish n' Chips and a side salad. Now truthfully I was skeptical about our food order and delightfully surprised too. All was as it should be, salad made fresh, tasted fresh. My fish and chips, hand battered fresh and a fair portion of four sticks of the Cod. Fries were fresh not frozen line flow ff's. M's Pastrami wrap very good and tasty, I got a bit but she kept the other half for herself later tonight. The sweet potato fries she got were fresh cut too (at least thats how they appeared) they actually had taste, although some were not thoroughly cooked. Overall we were quite satisfied with our meal, the bartender was our server and she was great. You absolutely have to try the sweet potato fries! they're seriously unlike any other fries out there. They're thick, hearty, and packed with actual sweet potato goodness, not just crunch and crisp. It was a Thursday evening and the street was abuzz coz of the Farmers' Market, right outside the pub. We least realising that there were happy hours on, took a place in the restaurant. The staff was attentive, showed us a good high seating table. The 5-7 happy hours were on and we got our very favourite 'Guinness' on the tap. We ordered plenty of that :))... appetisers too were discounted by $3 each. Of which the highlight were the onion rings with the serrano cheesy dip. One of the crispiest and best had by us in the last 1.5 years of being in California! The server was attentive but little hassled though service was prompt (maybe she was tired by then). Buffalo is a great place to have a quick bite + drinks with friends or partner! I always get the curry quinoa dish, it is so delicious. This time I added a few other items to my meal! I also got the buffalo fries and the mac n cheese sandwich. All very tasty, but I do think the mac n cheese needed a little more flavor. Great old fashion! The "locals only" old fashion was wonderful. I had the fish and chip and it was full of flavor, crispy, and the right about of salt. The onion rings were battered well, and the onion inside was crunchy making it delicious. Service was friendly and timely. The entire staff was super friendly and cheerful which makes such a difference and kept checking on us unintrusively which was nice. I kept it pretty basic and got some bourbon neat. I am trying to keep the sugar intake under control so avoided the tempting cocktails. The food was good. The options are pretty basic and "bar foody" but was surprised at how good it was. The deviled eggs were good, hard to screw that up. My favorite was the burrata salad which was surprisingly different and crunchy. I am so disappointed in the bathroom security guard. Not only did he let his friends cut in front of women but he was a complete imbecile to women. We stumbled into Buffalo Pub and Grill the day of the Xmas Parade. We just wanted to place to rest our feet from the rain. We casually met the owner and she had such wonderful kind energy. The bartender made the BEST gin and tonic( it was a Well drink) and my husband loved his Celebration Red Ale and ordered 2! The place was not busy at 12 noon on this rainy Saturday, but we met a local woman who brought in her sweet dog. If you're looking for a place to sit down and have a good drink and have some amazing food and definitely make sure that this is a stop you do in San Luis Obispo. Our waiter James has not only been so attentive to just us but everybody else around. He has given only the best recommendations on what is on the menu and let me tell you that menu has some fire options. My girlfriend's favorite is the mac & cheese whereas I will always go for the fish and chips now, but you will not find one thing on that menu to dislike. I think our favorite part is the fact that they have these giant goblets that are absolute wreckers if you're trying to get a nice day fade or a good buzz for a Sunday football game. Overall, being an Allen also has its ways cause this Bar is an official Billsbackers bar. Went in with my buddy straight to the bar. Maybe 5-6 people in the place at the time. Three bartenders. Three. Sat at the bar and waited 20 minutes. No one acknowledged us or even said hello. Finally had to ask one of the bartenders if I could order some drinks. She waved at one of the order bartenders and said "ask him" then proceeded to ignore me for another 25 seconds. I asked "can you just take my order?" She looked at me like I was stupid, then visibly contemplated with herself on if she could/would take our order. My friends and I stopped into Buffalo Pub to start off our night in downtown SLO for my bday weekend. The cute bartender/server was SO SO sweet and gave us ideas on where to go next after we snacked and had a couple drinks here. Although they seem to have a pretty full bar their specialty drink selection was limited. With that being said, my friend and I ordered Moscow Mules because that was our drink of choice for the evening. We got our drinks in a regular glass cup which bummed me out because traditionally mules are served in a copper mug. The food here was super super good. We ordered the cheese curds (lots of garlic), Mac and cheese with bacon & their nachos. My fav was the cheese curds, on the menu its indicated that its served with chipotle ranch type sauce but ours came with ranch. No biggie we asked for the chipotle ranch and we were good to go. I would recommend the cheese curds and to maybe stick with their specialty cocktails. We ordered a couple lite bites: some kind of beans that sounded interesting on the menu....something about onion, melted cheese. Unfortunately they were just kind of uninteresting beans. This year and last night was a bit of a different experience but the customer service was nothing short of the amazing as it has been every time I've come. Due to COVID the bar is not open on the inside but they have this awesome setup of outside seating, which made it a pretty awesome and new experience. He was very no one pressed charges of assault, it was unprovoked. If you were shoved you should sue and get free money! Went there tonight, it is Xmas eve, they are open and employees are super-friendly and nice and they said Xmas day, they are open also. That is really nice for some traveller like me.
