    Wine and cider tasting

The owner was very nice and down to earth. He said they opened in September. The decorations and bar are nice. This place is more upscale than your normal dive bar. I really loved the ACE pineapple cider. I also enjoyed the Truly wild berry seltzer. I liked the green painted walls supporting Cal Ploy. This is definitely a place that is popping when school is in.

Goated. Anyone know what it's like on any day besides Tuesday? And $1 beer? Whoever opened this place is going to heaven! :)

I'm in San Luis Obispo for work, and since it was my wife's birthday, she wanted to try Finney's…read moreCrafthouse. Birthday girl gets to pick, so off we went. The place was absolutely packed! I don't know if it was because of the soccer game or if it's always this busy, but that's usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, our party of six was seated almost immediately. The menu was excellent--not one of those places with ten pages of random items. It was well thought out and made it easy to choose. My wife and I both ordered the jalapeño burger (I can't remember the official name) with a side of tater tots. My son ordered the tuna, my daughter had the chicken tenders, and my nephew and niece both went with the barbecue burger. The food came out surprisingly fast, and then it was time to eat. Wow. This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife would not stop talking about hers. Her exact words were, "This burger tastes beefy." I'm still not exactly sure what that means, but judging by how fast she finished it, I'd say she absolutely loved it. To top it all off, our amazing waitress surprised my wife with a complimentary cookie sundae for her birthday. I really wish I had caught her name. She had curly hair and glasses, and she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I was not impressed with their margarita flight but who cares, it was about the food. If you're looking for an incredible burger, great service, and a fun atmosphere in San Luis Obispo, Finney's Crafthouse is definitely worth the visit. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town.

Traveled to SLO for work and checked out this place because the drinks looked delicious. When I…read moreapproached the bar, the bartender did not know what to do since he didn't have any menus. He could've asked people seated at the bar (with their menus closed) if he could take it to give it to us. Nonetheless, I waited and ordered a watermelon smash (something like that). Before even getting the drink, I got the check and closed out since I was waiting for a table. After waiting a couple of minutes, I finally got a table so I decided to close out while my drink was still getting prepared. When it came out, I took it to my table but it was not good. I told the waitress that it wasn't good and ordered a different drink and she delivered it but didn't tell me that I was going to get charged for it (and that was after I had asked if I was getting charged for it). After I told the waitress, she said she had to talk to her manager and luckily they took it off the bill. In terms of the food, it was okay. The lights were really dim so I felt as if I was eating in the dark.

Jazz night on Wednesday nights!…read more Grabbed a couple drinks upstairs before heading down for the music around 8:30. Bartenders upstairs were great and made great drinks. Sitting at the bar is a great choice for prompt service. Also a great bartenders roulette creation! Jazz night fills up QUICKLY. Music starts at 8:30 and almost every seat was taken already. Mostly a young crowd but all ages showed up and showed out.

This…read moreis the second incident with this establishment where they have discriminated against me (I want to mention my prior experience my service dog came with me and was under control at all times and we were never asked to leave, so there was no prior incident for us). On arrival, my service dog was heeling calmly and under full control while the bouncer spoke with us. Despite this, I was told I could not enter because the establishment downstairs had previously had "an incident" with a different service animal. Denying access based on a past experience with another dog is not lawful. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals may only be excluded if that specific animal is out of control or not housebroken--neither of which applied here. My dog was behaving impeccably and performing their trained tasks. Loudness, past incidents, or personal assumptions are not valid reasons to refuse a service animal. This was not a misunderstanding--it was a refusal of access based on disability. I hope management educates their staff on ADA compliance so future disabled patrons are not treated this way. I will not be spending my money here and urge others to do the same based on their discriminatory behavior.
