Boneless Thursday: Caribbean jerk & chipotle dry rub with ranch dip.
Ayael A.

I've been a regular here for since 2018, usually on Thursdays for the boneless special. At first it was always a great experience - better than any restaurant in the area - but starting with the menu change in 2019, the experiences because to lose the high quality. It started with the queso change. I love queso. I ordered it all the time before the changed it in 2019. Now, it's just gross. After the menu change, the quality of service changed. I've experienced issues ranging from poor customer service, to less than quality servers (and I don't like mentioning it because too many good servers get the short end of the stick), to cold, undercooked, or gristle filled wings, to orders being wrong. Quality service here is hit or miss anymore. The photo (taken March 5th) is one of the few picture worthy meals I've received here since early 2019.

Look at all the sauce on that one, oh wait it doesn't have much sauce at all :/

It's only been a couple days but had to come back for the all American burger and side of fries! It was soo good! KK got her some kind of avocado bacon burger that she said was perfect and enjoyed very much. Service was friendly as always, and it was a bit faster then the normal service. My total being under $12 I can see coming here a lot more or doing pick up instead of fast food when I'm craving burger and fries

great service but me and my group were sitting for over an hour on our food. Groups coming in after we're getting their food before us.

Waited an hour for 4 burgers, ridiculous. I didn't know making 4 burgers was this hard nowadays.

Good but you have a 50/50 chance of them being dry as hell. Shouldn't have to ask for extra wet each time.

Fry snob here, I ask for them super hot (if they come before/after the rest of the food, that's ok - as long as they are hot. They did not disappoint! I didn't love the yellow cheese on the steak/cheese but that's a personal preference. If the menu said it, I missed it. Was still very tasty and hubs said the local tap beer and burger were very good.

It was a Saturday night and our group of 7 wandered in and found a table. We were waited on right away and our server was awesome. Drinks came out quickly, but it took a while for our food and apps because it was PACKED so we expected it. Our server was right on top of our empty drinks so no worries. When we finally got the food, it was typical bar type food. Some of us loved our meals and some of us not so much. It also turns out there was a band that night so we hung out to see them play and I am sooooo glad that we did! If you ever get the chance to see Dry River Band, go immediately! They were fantastic and it's easy to see why they have such a following in the area. My only complaint is that there is only one bathroom for women so the line was 6 deep at one point. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our visit and will be stopping back the next time we're passing through.

The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and pork rinds. I'd give the fried pickles a 2/5, they had flavor but lacked crunch. The breading was missing on 80% of the pickle. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Would order again. 5/5 We were in and out in less than an hour. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was warm. The prices are reasonable as well.

Second time we've been here both returning from the shore…read more Forgot: Edit. VERY pet friendly. First, the service is excellent and speedy. I appreciated the selection of local beers on draft too. Found prices to be very reasonable these days. Next, the sides are out of this world. The green beans and collard greens really compete with the best Grammy homemade ones. Mac and cheese, hush puppies, and chicken tenders were on point. I thought the portion sizes were good for $3 sides. I had the ahí tacos and a side of brisket. lol. I wanted to try the brisket! The tacos has a nice flavor with an excellent sauce but the tuna was unseasoned. The biggest issue is the taco sat in juices from the toppings and became soggy quickly. A little easier on the toppings and it would be a really good dish. The brisket. Man if you hype up your bbq it better be on point. It was not. Crazy crazy dry and not really tender either. I got the flavor they intended with the oak smoke but that was really poorly cooked brisket. If you can find a good main dish everything else is lined up for a great meal. Maybe make a meal of the sides? :)

The prime rib was cooked well, the mussels were flavorful, and the barbecue platter had a good variety. The service was great--fast, courteous, and attentive without making us feel rushed. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. It felt lively and energetic, but it was not too loud to have a conversation. Overall, this was a solid dinner and a place I would recommend when visiting Staunton. I would definitely eat here again.

My partner and I came for dinner last night (a Tuesday). We arrived around 5:45 pm and were…read morepromptly seated. The restaurant was not very busy, but there was a pleasant vibe. The inside reminds me of a Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but a bit darker. I think it's a nice atmosphere, appropriate for date night, a group, a family, etc. Our server (who has worked here for 3 years) was friendly and efficient. To start, we ordered a bowl of yesterday's soup special (She crab) and a small order of boiled shrimp. The soup was excellent, creamy, and with small pieces of crab throughout. The shrimp (six in the small order) were prepared well and came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The server brought over a loaf of their complimentary bread, which is actually three breads together in a single loaf. The bread was good (I preferred the dark loaf part) and came with a peach butter. We were told that the butters change periodically. The butter had pieces of peach in it (!) and we enjoyed the novelty. Our server mentioned that they also have a pistachio butter and maple butter. Yum. I ordered a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The salad itself was good - fresh, with crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple, almond pieces, etc. Then there was the dressing. Although I mixed the salad dressing in the cup before tasting it, when I did taste it, it was almost all oil with no discernible vinegar or other flavor. I kept stirring and tasting and nothing. So I abandoned the dressing. For entrees, my partner ordered the charbroiled salmon in herb butter with a side of broccoli. The salmon was prepared well and very tasty. I ordered the mahi-mahi, with the sun-dried tomato butter sauce on the side. The mahi-mahi was well prepared and tasty on its own. Honestly, I tasted the sun-dried tomato butter sauce and it was essentially whipped butter. I didn't think it added anything to the entree so I didn't use it. The potato came with butter and sour cream on the side. The potato was very good. Although we were full and not planning on dessert, the server came over with small cups of peppermint ice cream, calling it a "palate cleanser." It was very good and a nice touch. Other than the salad dressing and the sauce for the fish, it was an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere with good service. When we were leaving at around 7:00 pm, the line was out the door.
