Chicken fajita rice bowl

I was in town visiting family and went here. The chicken fajita rice salad was really good and filling. A great, value.

Chicken Tender Dinner with Texarkana Corn

I don't like leaving negative reviews but come onnnn lol. This place is ALWAYS packed so I had really high hopes. My husband and I stopped by on a Friday evening. I ordered chicken tenders with curly fries and texacana corn. The tenders were oily, the garlic bread was burnt and smooshed, the curly fries were LITERALLY wet and floppy and had absolutely zero seasoning, and the "fancy corn" was just a regular over cooked corn on the Cobb with hard kernels lol. Our server also didn't ever come back to check on us for refills and I was finally able to flag him down and asked for a second Sierra Mist and it never came Overall, this place is just not for me but they always have a really big crowd so it must have its fans!

The "side of Mac" that was barely two bites of food. Didn't realize that CostCo samples were larger than my to-go sides at Buffalo's.

I typically don't do neg reviews. And I get it, times are tough and there are bottom lines for every business out there. This is our neighborhood spot. One of a small handful. Will we be back?--probably not. The photo attached is the "side of Mac." Barely two bites worth. I get it, economy suck right now, times are tough. But this is a joke. I went back to Publix (across the street from Buffalo's) and bought a box of Annie's as my wife and I were sharing the wrap and "side of Mac."

I was hoping to find a good casual restaurant in Woodstock, but the wings here were inedible. The server was nice, I felt bad for him.

Young inexperienced servers. Average food. Wings very small eight for $12.99. Wife's shrimp tacos above average.

The birria tacos didn't have a savory flavor profile and the consommé was watered down. I will say that the birria tacos did come with a lot of meat though! Again, the chicken fajitas had no seasoning. Service was good, and restaurant was clean. I'm not sure if my experience had to do with the cooks on that day or just the items I got. Not sure if I would come back to this restaurant.

We walked in the door and were pleasantly greeted by our server. She seated us at a booth, gave us menus, and promptly took our drink orders. She brought out a basket of chips and a bowl of salsa. The restaurant contains booths along the walls and tables dispersed throughout two sides or sections of the restaurant. I had looked at photos of the menus on Yelp which included a photo of a separate Lunch menu. After reviewing the Dinner menu, our waitress returned and asked if we were ready to order. I told her that I did not see a Lunch menu and asked if they had a separate Lunch menu. She looked surprised and reluctantly agreed to get us a lunch menu. I told her it was our first time in their restaurant and we wanted to see all their menu options. She returned and asked if we were ready to order and I told her we were still deciding on our orders. There were only diners at two other tables in the restaurant at 1:00 pm so not sure what the rush was to order. A man returned (he may have been the manager or owner) to take our order and I joked with him that we were getting back-up support for our server. We placed our order and our original server returned to check on us. We both like spicy salsa and the red salsa brought to the table was bland (tasted like chopped tomatoes and sauce with little or no spices) I asked if she had a spicy salsa and she quickly returned with a hot salsa. I mixed the two salsas together and it was perfect. Our meals were fine but nothing special compared to our other frequent Mexican restaurants. Overall, not exceptional Mexican cuisine but the service was good. We will not be returning to dine here again.

We were immediately greeted and seated. Aniyis was our waitress. We ordered the Avocado Cilantro Egg Rolls for appetizers and the Tuna Poke Bowl for lunch. My mom substituted her tuna for chicken. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They had a few games on the tv but overall the vibe was chill. This will continue to be our lunch spot when we go shopping at Woodstock.

Starting with the appetizers, you can go from a queso, guac and salsa trio to Edamame or Korean fried cauliflower, or some great fusion items such as Asian Nachos or my favorite, Aviocado Cilantro Egg Rolls. The salads and bowls lean into the concept as well, offering unique healthy and hearty options . The fun continues with the tacos. You can choose the Tsunami Trio, two tacos plus a side or The Quatto, three tacos and a side. The taco menu is creative and there's definitely something for everyone, but for those sophisticated beer drinking, cigar smoking vegetarians like myself, there are three great options: The Tofu Taco: Marinated and grilled tofu, topped with lettuce, soy sesame vinaigrette, shiitake mushrooms, roasted poblano and corn, andsesame seeds. The Garden Taco: Cilantro hummus, grilled peppers, onions, shiitake mushrooms, lettuce and topped withsoy sesame vinaigrette and sesame seeds. The Korean Fried Cauliflower Taco: Fried Cauliflower,Korean pepper sauce, cabbage, guacamole, chipotle sour cream, sesame seeds, cilantro. Taqueria Tsunami has a full bar with a good selection of beers and a clever cocktail list. Service is always great, and being located in the outlet mall, it's a great stop in your shopping, and the outdoor seating gives you a prime opportunity for some good people watching on a nice day.

Reservations: We didn't make a reservation ahead of time; not sure if you can. We walked in and sat ourselves since we went to the rooftop. If sitting downstairs or on the patio, we would've been immediately seated by the host. Parking: It's downtown Woodstock so parking can get tricky. We both lucked out in finding spots nearby and had a short walk to the restaurant. There is parking in front of the restaurant, but it's not likely that it will be available. Food: We ordered chips and queso; chicken fajitas; and the ensalada de verano with shrimp. I was hoping for a taco salad, but they don't offer that. Chips and queso were delicious. Would definitely get again. For those sensitive to salt, the chips may be too much for you. I love salt so they were perfect for me. My friend enjoyed her chicken fajitas. My salad was okay; I wouldn't order it again. The shrimp had a burnt flavor to it, and although I did appreciate the summer flavor of the salad overall, I wasn't impressed with the dish in its entirety. Drinks: We both ordered the Skinny Love. Mine was on the rocks and my friend got hers frozen. I thought it was fine - nothing to write home about though. Vibe: The rooftop is a fun spot. You get a view of downtown Woodstock, depending on where you sit. Be mindful it is outside so you may get bugs/flying insects pay you a visit. Our sever, Christian, was a vibe. Super nice, patient, and friendly. I also appreciated they had fans around the whole area, which they turned on while we were there and it made it more enjoyable due to the heat.

I think the word "authentic" gets thrown around a little too loosely when it comes to Mexican food…read more A lot of places claim it, but you could easily argue otherwise for many of them. This place, however, truly delivers the authenticity you expect. Every detail was spot on. They use crema instead of sour cream, the enchilada sauce is thick and has a great spicy kick, and they stick with traditional staples like corn tortillas. You can tell they care about doing things the right way. Overall, the meal was outstanding--easily some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The portions were very generous. The beans were creamy with a nice amount of cheese mixed in, and the rice was full of flavor--you could taste the chicken bouillon, tomato, and spices in every bite. Everything was topped with cotija cheese and served with a fresh, well-done salad. All of that was just $12 for a three-enchilada plate, which is an incredible value for the quality and portion size. This is probably the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I think everyone should give it a try.
