My wife and I are big fans of NEPA microbrews, so we always keep an eye out for those additions. We've also had great success with a number of their burgers and enjoy trying the weekly specials, which keep things fresh. The chopped salad is another favorite--simple, satisfying, and a perfect complement to the heavier dishes. One thing I really appreciate is their points program--we recently traded in points for dessert, and the churros were excellent. It's a nice perk that makes the experience feel even more rewarding. McCray's Tavern is a large restaurant with lots of TVs so it's a great spot to watch some games. They stop serving food at 10, I believe, and last call is at 11. I got the blueberry fizz drink, which they had on special that day for $10. It was good but sweet. I came to McCray's for brunch on Sunday bc our normal place had a crazy wait. The good news is- absolutely no wait. We were seated right away and the weather was nice, so we were able to enjoy the outdoor patio The brunch menu is more lunch than breakfast but there were a few options. I had the breakfast sandwich with fruit (instead of potatoes) and my dining partner had eggs Benedict. I was hoping for coffee, but they only serve it with heavy cream, which I can't have, so I opted for iced tea I stead. The service was just ok. We were seated and had food, but no cutlery. I really like this spot. I really want to love it. The location is super convenient, the interior is warm & welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the food selection and flavors are great. But you can't always count on the best service. This is our second time in a few months since moving here, and both times my hubby & I agree that it would be an amazing neighborhood go-to for us if we could count on consistent attention from our servers. Tonight, the young lady was professional, friendly, and helpful... at first. We had to check on our appetizer order, one of our sides was incorrect, our plates weren't cleared as we finished dishes, and then I believe she forgot about my having to pay altogether. So close!! Just a little too far from a perfect evening. But we'll be back because the food and drinks were good. Some notes: the "shareable" Tots is really only good for 1 growing boy or 2 small people, but they're delicious! The Bang-Bang Shrimp can actually be a good size meal by itself, and they're tasty. The meats in the burgers and sandwiches are very generous and cooked well. The kids meals are a perfect portion, at least for my 6-year old. And the drinks are made well. Worst service and food ever. Have been several times and proably will not come back after this. Walk on to see a huge chalk board for coors light and the Braves. I ordered a tall coors light, waitress said "we only have that in bottles", not that they are out. And I know they were not becuase watched the bar tender pour others. Waitress brought me the wrong size the first beer. When I asked for a 20 once beer she proceeded to say "I thought that's what you asked for the first time , but didn't want to over whelm or over pour you". WOW! Food took about 45-60 minutes and the place was half empty if not more. Chicken Philly was more bread and when I say more bread even half the sandwich was still too much bread. The chicken was cold and missing onions, looked like kids portion. Salmon sandwiches were over cooked and dry. And the special sauces broccoli was not even cooked all the way and was like they just warned it up and added garlic. The turkey sandwich had avocado's that were way under ripe and not eatable. Asked for the manager and they never came. Needless to say this will be the last time we visit this place. read more

Nope... The two of us stopped in for a late lunch on the holiday Monday and found the experience very underwhelming. We were handled a clipboard with some menu items on it over three laminated pages and a front and back menu- foreshadowing the lack of quality of food we were to see. I ordered wings and rings- both were previously frozen items that were warmed and served. Fortunately, it was 1/2 price Wing Monday- (a detail that we saw on one of the clipboard notices). It brought the price from $22 for 10 all flat to $11. It wasn't anywhere near an $11 entree and I would have been even more disappointed at $22. We came here on a Monday night to get dinner and to our surprise they had half priced wings. We first ordered 6 as an appetizer and they were so good: crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We then decided to take advantage of the deal and order more, which took a while to come. And when they came out they weren't as crispy as the first round and it was all flats, I was a little bummed because I actually like drums. The service is dreadful. The staff are not trained. They don't know how to make a drink or to garnish it ? they didn't clean the table at all. The garnish when i requested it was sticky and old. The toilets were so filthy that I took photos. Ill happily supply them. My cocktails were so badly made I was in shock when told that the bartender has experience, but then I saw him sitting and eating most of the time I was there and some female staff member behind the bar. I write this review with conflict because honestly I have no idea why the service was so poorly that we all had to leave. My family drove over 30 minutes to eat here. We expected the brunch service to still be available because in the past it was until 3:00. We arrived before 2:30. As we sat down I asked the server about that and she said it just ended. So we were like oh dang. And then we waited about 20 minutes and never saw her again. So when I tell you we got up and walked out and went to Ted's across the street it is because we couldn't get service. I am really disappointed. McCray's WAS my favorite restaurant but now I doubt I'll return. read more

Very poor service. Wanted to try McCray's as I heard good things, but was met with terrible service. No one was at the front to greet us when we arrived. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table once seated. Entrees came out before the appetizer, our waiter did not bring out our food or check in once food was delivered. We had to wave down another waiter to get water because our waiter never brought us water. Our waiter greeted us by saying, "I guess I'm your waiter." However, this restaurant was nicely decorated, clean, and the server was very knowledgeable and helpful! I tried the Santa Fe impossible burger and absolutely delish! They do charge a 1$ fee for the burger change to impossible (kinda of a pet peeve but okay). The burger had pepper jack, pico, fried jalapenos avocado, and chipotle aioli- super yummy! I ordered carry out today. Buffalo chicken panini with fries. It barely had any buffalo and really didn't seem like a panini - it was on pita bread folded in half. It was fine and had nice chunks of chicken but was not a panini. I also order a Caesar side salad which claims to have Parmesan cheese on it. Mine did not. I was craving a casual place to have a glass of wine and a decent meal. Hubby picked McCray's, so we wouldn't miss football. The atmosphere is friendly casual. Hubby ordered a reuben. I ordered wings and a glass of wine. My first wing felt borderline done. The second wing was also suspect. To make sure, I cut into a third and was sure that my order was undercooked. Without hesitation, they took my plate for a redo and offered a refill on my wine while I waited. I ate a few of hubby's sweet potato fries. They were cooked through, but a little limp. Perhaps a little cornstarch coating would have helped. Round two of my wings came back cooked through and hot. McCray's Tavern is a new addition to East Cobb, and an extension of the one that opened in downtown Lawrenceville. Adding to the East Cobb lifestyle, this one certainly fits in and has that East Cobb Snob vibe inside. Very posh for sure. I came here with friends to celebrate my birthday. Had planned on just going solo, as I thought my birthday would be a great excuse to finally try them out. Love the sign at the front door about tipping your servers & being kind due to being short-staffed. They have a large covered outdoor seating area, huge bar, and very nice booths. Tv's are pretty much everywhere and in your face, all tuned into sports. The beer list is fairly long, although the draft beers were ok. However, their house iPA was really good and certainly recommend it. I also had a rye whiskey on the rocks. We ordered the onion rings for the table. Those things were gigantic! The onion was a bit harder inside than I would've liked but still good. My meal, the pond fish n chips, was decent. My only complaint on it is it only came with two pieces of fish and they could've been cooked a little bit longer. Everyone at the table notices how small my portion size was. Our server did an excellent job. Somebody at the table did mention my birthday and the server did nothing for it, but I'm ok with that. The atmosphere here is really good. WATCH your bill! Just had dinner for four. We didn't realize until after they ran our card that they charged us a $2.99 for paying with a credit card (titled as an add on as a "non cash adj") and charged us for $.50 for honey mustard sauce. Both charges without warning at all. Food was ok. Service was not great...host tried to convince us to sit outside despite 40 degree weather stating "it's the warmest spot in the restaurant ", no silverware until halfway through our meal, forgotten drink for my husband and a burger sent back because it was not delivered as ordered. Never came back to see how food was and whether we wanted more drinks. Truly didn't feel like my business was valued, nor did I feel that I got a good value for the meals/drinks purchased. read more

I ended up at McCray's Tavern after getting my braces done. I ordered a McAllen with a large ice cube and attended a 2-hour workshop. The music wasn't too loud, which was a relief, and the bartender did an excellent job checking on me. It was relatively empty inside, which was expected around 1:00 p.m. Eastern. After the workshop, I opted for the gumbo since my mouth was still sore. The gumbo was fantastic--rich in flavor with well-balanced seasonings, and I particularly enjoyed the consistency of the rice. I ordered a smoked turkey CLUB sandwich. A turkey CLUB sandwich is SUPPOSED TO BE a cold sandwich with 3 pieces of toasted sliced bread with cheese, lettuce, tomato, turkey, usually bacon, and mayonnaise. McCray's menu doesn't let you know that you will not be getting a club sandwich at all, but rather a mediocre hot sandwich on a hoagie roll. It was not at all what I wanted and it was not good. The turkey had been heated and was crunchy on the edges. Ewww! I was in a hurry to get to an appointment, so I didn't send the sandwich back. My server was pleasant but made me wait for the mayonnaise I had asked for when I put in the order. Then, I had to remind him, so I had to remind him again. Came in a Sunday for brunch. There is no where to wait so plan to just stand around if it's crowded. We waited about 10 minutes. Cocktails were great, appetizers were good too. Try the pimento cheese fritters! Onion rings as a side were a little heavy and $4.50 for three onion rings is a bit steep IMHO. Service was excellent and staff seem well trained. The meal was slow out of the kitchen and they apologized for 15 minute delay on entrée delivery. Chicken and waffles were hot and fresh. I asked for warm syrup and they did it!
