Marlow's earns a solid 4 stars from me after not loving it for a while. They've improved and I'll go back again. We came for a late dinner on a Friday night and ordered the smoked fish dip and banh mi wrap with chicken tenders and grilled asparagus. I also ordered a skinny margarita. Our server was responsive and attentive, making sure that my allergy needs were addressed (I'd know if she hadn't). She deserves 5 stars, as do the people who answered our questions the day before when we called. The fish dip was ok, just maybe not as good as I remember when I had it a few years ago or I got spoiled by eating a lot of it in FL. The banh mi was really good - the size, crispy chicken (swapped for tofu), sauce, and veggies were fresh. It was the best thing we ordered. I would not recommend ordering a skinny margarita. Unfortunately it was more like a tequila ranch water - no sweetness, but plenty of tequila so I didn't want to send it back. I was able to perk it up with the lime garnish and a tiny bit of Splenda. read more

We love sitting outside when the weather is nice. I especially love the pickles at this location. Who makes them??? Use the app if you come here often for free food items. Top notch tavern! It's been a minute but we wanted to try this tavern and it blew us out of the water with its delicious selection of " pub food". This truly is not your ordinary pub food- it's "Michelin star" worthy. So upset that I m not one of the food critiques. The service is speedy fast, our server Aiden was on top of our drinks, appetizer and entire. His check in times were on point. Thank you Aiden for excellent service. The tavern is a warm ambience with TVs showcasing football and news channels. The booth we sat in was very spacious. The most impressive thing for me was all the framed photos on the walls. The subject matter non descript just interesting to me. I'm giving five stars to the menu and the chef, you made this Yelper happy. Ordered pickup. I ordered the grouper sandwich and I must say it was such a disappointment. Taste was adequate but the fish was almost nonexistent. I would say you would get twice the fish on a McDonald's fish filet. Small portion of fries as well. My wife had the French Dip which for the price was small. Taste was good. The thing that really grossed me out was a long curly haired guy. I watched him running his hands thru his hair and as I was walking toward him,to see if he was in contact with food, he coughed in his hand and returned working. We had originally planned for a different restaurant but that did not work out and we had seen Marlow's Tavern on the way so we decided to give it a shot. It was good and we returned less than a week later. My daughter had the mac n' cheese with fries, hubby had a salad and I had wings and kettle chips. Everything was very good including the service. I did not realize it was a chain until we accidentally ended up at a different location after putting the name in my GPS. This time I had the royale burger and hubby had the chicken panini. Once again, both food and service were good. Oh, and both times we got the creme brûlée for dessert and it was delicious. Parking: There is ample free parking as the restaurant is located in a shopping center with a parking lot. Food: I ordered the BBQ Chicken Cobb Salad and enjoyed it. I would get that again. It was a pretty large portion and the dressing covered the salad nicely. My sister was not impressed with the Caesar salad, nor the steak she added to it. She had to ask for a side of Caesar dressing since the salad didn't seem to have any on it. My sister's friend ordered the French Onion sandwich and said it was good. Drinks: I ordered the Paloma mocktail and it was delicious, and refreshing. I love how they have a variety of mocktails to choose from. My sister and her friend ordered the ginger marg, and were not impressed. My sister didn't even finish hers. Vibe: We sat outside and appreciated the variety in chairs (those with and without arms). The service was okay. Not the worst I've had, but I've definitely had better. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back or suggest Marlow's, but if a friend or family member wanted to go I wouldn't say no. I would just recommend not ordering the Caesar salad. read more

I have frequented several area Marlow's and have enjoyed their food and service, even this location. I typically get the grouper sandwich because it was always very good. Good sized sandwich. I order it again last night, and it was half the size. Tried to order jalapeño grits and was told they are off the menu but I could have any side. Chose asparagus. Got 3 spears that were lukewarm. Never again. I can get two fish sandwich meals at Culvers and have a better meal for the price of this. Apparently, Marlow's is full on shrinkflation. read more

Six reviews back I wrote about a different branch -- actually a better branch -- of Marlow's. Music was blasting when we walked in today. Too loud to carry on conversation. Our server -- a nice gal and good waitress -- asked, on my behalf for them to lower the music. After a second request they complied. Our table was tacky. (Sticky, not garish.) The waitress said it was because of the sanitizer they use between guests. I was dubious. I asked my friend if she wanted to go elsewhere. She didn't. I ordered my usual off-the-menu item: a grilled chicken bahn mi wrap with a side salad. The salad wasn't as good as at the aforementioned location. Neither was the wrap, which I found skimpy and lacking 'oomph.' My friend ordered the shrimp and crab nacho plate, which her daughter recommended. It looked better than I expected. Is this place terrible? Certainly not. Will I come back? Probably not. read more

We were in Marietta for a Grandson's Birthday and as such, we normally take my Son Brian, wife Jill and the two Grandsons and one Granddaughter out for Lunch, normally on our last day there before returning back to Denver NC. It had been a fun time and we kept up the tradition of taking the Kids out for new shoes and that is always fun. We've dined at probably at least three other Marlow's Travern in the area before and they were always consistently good. Brian had never tried this one before and suggested this one to see what it as like. It's a few minutes further away from their house that the East Cobb or Kennesaw locations but no big deal. Still well within a reasonable driving distance. Any parent will tell you that going out to eat with three little ones ranging in age from 8 to 3 can be a challenge particularly when the two oldest are rambunctious boys. The little girl is a sweetheart and while she does not put up with anything from her brothers, is very well behaved and mannered. That said, a party of seven with four adults and there under the age of 8 ir probably ever servers' nightmare. Still the hostess found us a spot a little off the main area that was quiet and we had a very good understanding server. Ordering for the kids was the easy part. They are at an ages with Gourmet Dining consist of either Mac n' Cheese or Chicken Tenders. made it easy. My wife started with a Black Russian and we had to explain what a Black Russian was, but they finally figured out what it was, and she finally got her drink. Good thing she did not order a White Russian which has slightly more ingredients. I stuck with my Iced Unsweetened Tea, Jill had a coke and Brian had one of the Craft Beers We started out with s shared place of Asparagus Fries which were excellent. Susan and Jill ordered the Steak Salad while Brian order the ROYALE Cheeseburger and I had the Black and Bleu Burger. One comment and that is they have excellent Fried Okra. My compliments to the restaurant and while thinks were chaotic as could be expected, you put up with us. Only reason I did not rate you higher is that I rarely rate venues with a five based on one visit. We have another trip to the Marietta area coming up shortly and we may be able to visit again. read more

Still unsure what in the world is happening at this location. No pics this time as I was just so appalled at the experience. Had dinner last night. They weren't super packed or anything. We sat at the bar as we usually do when we go out. Two bartenders working which is usually good since there are more hands on deck. We were greeted pretty immediately which had me thinking we were in good hands. Ordered drinks. As we were perusing the menu deciding what we wanted, I observed one bartender just playing around and being a bit unprofessional but whatever that's fine. We sat for about 15 minutes after deciding what we were going to have making eye contact on and off and no one stopping to ask if we were ready to order. We finally stopped one of them and gave our order: Carnitas Duck Spring Rolls, Sunflower Crusted Chicken Salad, and Classic Tavern Burger. At this point, with empty drinks and bartenders just walking by us for, again, much too long, we were presented with asparagus fries. We told the server we didn't order them, and she walked back to the expo who also looked confused. Then, he made his way to us with the asparagus fries, which we said no to again and told him we ordered the spring rolls and he walked away. After another long wait, spring rolls were brought to us by who I assumed to be the manager. No one apologized or explained what happened. Nothing. Absolutely zero communication. Of course shortly after those arrived, here come the burger and salad. I have no complaints about the food. All the options we ordered were great. The service was extremely subpar. I don't understand how people can operate this way. The lackadaisical way the staff is baffles me. I'd rather just order takeout next time instead of enduring the blah service. read more

She knew the menu, made some requested recommendations, checked on us to ensure all was well, and made our visit very enjoyable. My chicken Panini was delicious, as well. Poor service. Most do the wait staff socializing while 1-2 servers run around trying to cover the tables. I saw one larger table come in and one of the servers tore themselves away from their iPhone long enough to take their full order. Meanwhile it is 20 minutes in I was still waiting to order food before calling it quits. This isn't fast food but you can at least get our order into the kitchen vs ignoring some tables / cherry picking customers. This used to be a good location but not anymore. I often have lunch meetings for business but won't suggest this location anymore. Plenty of other options out there who value my business. read more

This should be a 3.5 but I don't feel a 4, so here we are at a 3. I haven't been in a Marlow's in quite a while and my husband and I popped in for a quick dinner. The restaurant itself was clean and our server was very attentive and took great care of us. I ordered the french dip with cheese grits which I loved. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the bread was great! I judge a good sandwich by the bread....My hubs had a burger which he wasn't overly thrilled about. It was under seasoned and over cooked. Fries were cooked perfectly!! Overall, this is a good spot with good service but with the costs of the meals, a burger shouldn't be bland. read more

Went for a late lunch Sat before Mother's Day. Restaurant was not busy. When our food was finally brought to us it was obviously sitting for a while. All 3 of our fry's were cold. French dip had spilled all the au jus across the entire plate and was a bowl of mush. And crispy grouper sandwich that was ordered without sauce. Waitress we had we never saw from the time we ordered until well after we were done eating. The restaurant's 3.5 star average is pretty accurate, but for my rating I had to round down. The ambiance has a lowly lit glow, and this particular location isn't as boisterous as some of the other locations I've been to. Our server Ian was punctual, attentive, observant, and very polite. My wife ordered the French dip, which had depth of flavor while still staying in the medium temperature range so that the tenderness was preserved, with the jalapeño grits as a side-I did not taste those but she said they were great. I ordered the Black & Bleu burger, medium rare, with fries. My burger came out more on the medium side, and the patty itself didn't taste like it was seasoned, relying on the saltiness from the bacon and the richness from the bleu cheese for flavor, but it wasn't a big enough error to waste the food for a re-cook. The fries were perfect, crispy on the outside, slightly fluffy in the middle, a very nice seasoning blend that has a hint of sweetness yet the savoryness still prevails. I've never experienced as big of a change in experience at the same restaurant as I did tonight, and I couldn't be happier. Right away we were greeted at the door by the host and hostess with a very warm greeting. They were very inviting and accommodating. There were several TV's on and my kid is a giant Braves fan. So Ed very graciously changed the TV nearest us to the Braves game and it kept my child thoroughly entertained throughout the night. We were very fortunate to get Nathan as our waiter tonight. You could tell right away that he was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to offer us several good recommendations. It was also reassuring when he complimented us on our choices and said he personally liked a selection because he had tried it before himself. He was very personable and likable and took great care of us. The Watermelon and Cucumber Margaritas were so refreshing. I typically like my drinks stronger and my wife likes it fruitier. The drinks were a perfect mixture that both myself and my wife enjoyed them very much. I would highly recommend both drinks. And I have high confidence that other drinks are probably pretty good themselves, at least from whichever bartender made our drinks tonight. For appetizers, we started out with the Shrimp & Crab "Nacho" Plate along with the Ahi Tuna Poke. The "Nacho" is in parentheses because it's not quite what you'd expect for a nachos dip (see images). Instead, they look like mini pizzas or quesadillas topped with shrimp, crab, and jalapenos. The poke was mixed with some nice chunks of avocado paired with crispy chips. The presentation was excellent and both foods tasted great. We also tried the Steak and Potato soup, and I really enjoyed the taste and temperature of it. For entrees, I have to say that my Grilled Center Cut Filet was one of the best I've ever had. I ordered it medium rare, and it was grilled to perfection! So juicy and tender, I had to make my wife try a few bites. Bravo! My wife ordered the Tavern salad with Grilled Salmon. From her past experience, she mentioned that she always loves the salads here. I tried a small bite and I gotta say that it goes so well with the citrus dressing. My kids had the Two Tiny Burgers and Big Kid Steak. Apparently the Big Kid Steak is cut from the same meat as my Center Cut Filet. I didn't know it at the time I asked him, but when I asked how he liked it, his response was "it's TOO good." In fact, it was so good he repeated himself twice to make sure I heard him. Now I know why he liked it so much. And finally, we had no choice but to give the Banana Split another try tonight, and I must report that it turned out great. The presentation was on point, and the flavors just went together so nicely. Thank you to Darren for having us back and treating us to an excellent experience. I have to say "experience" because saying "dinner" wouldn't tell the whole story. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt like VIP's. Darren, Ed, Nathan, and all of the staff who greeted and served us tonight went above and beyond what we expected. I can only hope that they continue their excellent work, and they will become a neighborhood favorite for many years to come. read more

I do not understand why restaurants have to make a Maine Lobster roll "their own" . This one was not great. A Maine lobster roll has 5 ingredients. That's it. Cooked Maine Lobster Claw Meat Mayonnaise - Just a little. Fresh Herbs - Dill and Parsley. Garlic Powder - just a little. Salt and Pepper Keep it simple and chunky. Also they said there was a 30 minute wait while at all times there were 4-5 open tables and the high top community table. I asked if they were having staffing issues. Ordered food online for my wife. 1/15/2024. Food was supposed to be ready at 7:07. I arrived at 7:08 and was informed that my food was finishing up and it will be another 5-10 min...I waited, and waited until 7:45. Spoke with someone multiple times while waiting... (where is my food)..... not sure, sorry it's taking so long is the only response. Finally my food came out, got home (1 min away). Chicken tenders were burnt (hard as a brick)... and the best part... all my food was cold.. only thing hot was the onion rings... so I waited 40 minutes for a small order of onion rings... WTH? No manager ever came over to apologize, or offer any compensation.. Side note.. When I first arrived they asked me if I was "UBER". What I have found is that Uber/Doordash take priority over online (website)...if I were to Uber eats my order tonight and not pick it up myself, I get it almost immediately! I came in today for my hour lunch. There were very few guests at the time I arrived. Maybe about 2-3 tables and 1 other bar patron. Lots of staff standing around. The service from my bartender was great. However my SALAD took about 45 minutes to come out. The patrons that came in 20 minutes after me got their burgers before my salad came out. There was a long wait at our local Roswell location on Friday night, so we decided to try the Marlow's Tavern in Marietta. We had a great experience. Jack, our server, was personable and professional. He was very responsive. He promptly provided beverage refills, and he checked on us frequently. He sincerely thanked us and invited us to return when he brought back the check. The food was great. I ordered the Royale with Truffle Fries. The fries were hot and well-seasoned. The burger was hot, juicy and very cheesy. My wife tried the new steak sandwich. She thought that it was flavorful, but she would have preferred to have the steak served warm, not cold. We go early so we aren't standing around the front door waiting on someone to leave at dinner. It's a nice looking place on the inside but the service and the food are lacking. Servers are not attentive, menu is shallow with few choices. Portions are small and prices are high. We noticed that a couple years ago but decided to try it again. After 3 visits we give up. Husband and I went tonight for our 31st anniversary. Sad to say the least. We ordered a bottle of wine and then ordered dinner. He got the Philly, he couldn't believe how small it was. I ordered the shrimp and grits- after 25 minutes watching our waiter just talking near the kitchen, he finally came by to see if everything was ok. We'd been done for 10 minutes- I asked if the shrimp was fresh, he said he'd check. After placing our bill down, he says yes, they're fresh to us, they just came in yesterday. Wasn't really sure what to expect, but overall a pretty decent restaurant. I've lived in the area for over 10 years but never tried, as my family is not too big on American food. Tonight we wanted something different. We started off with the firecracker shrimp (not pictured), and the parmesan truffle fries. Which were all pretty decent. Not a lot of restaurants get the whole truffle idea down correctly. A lot of places use truffle oil instead of a actual truffle, this is one of those restaurant. Nonetheless, they were a solid 7/10. They lacked seasoning outside of the truffle and parmesan so they needed ketchup. Wagyu burger was very delicious, and the jalapeño corn grits were equally amazing. Service was a 4/5. Not our first time at Marlowe but was surprised by the discourteous service. Hamburgers never disappoint, French dip great. Tried the shrimp crab nachos was not impressed I think a better name is shrimp crab toasts. However, our waiter Peter was unfriendly, insincere and even as we thanked him when asking for boxes or giving directions on the checks he rolled his eyes multiple occasions. Word to the wise when serving people your mask can't hide smarmy and rude. Will go to Marlows again but not this location. read more

My previous review of Marlow's Tavern was very critical due to a poor take out experience. Fast forward a couple of years now, and I need to make sure I update my review as I've grown to appreciate this quality local spot close to my house. The food and quality has definitely improved. Highlights of the menu to me include: -- Appetizers: * Poke - traditional presentation with avocado and wontons * Firecracker Shrimp - their version of bang bang shrimp * Kettle Chips - home made with blue cheese melted and bacon, pretty awesome -- Main Dishes: * Grilled Atlantic Salmon is a pretty creative dish with fennel, peas, citrus and a perfectly grilled piece of fish * Any of the burgers are a good bet * Steak Frites are pretty good as well with the mushroom sauce and English style chips ("fries") that make it unique -- Sides - The sides are pretty unique here as well from the jalapeno grit cakes to chickpea fries to whole fried okra. Marlow's is an excellent option when in this area or at any of their other locations. read more

I go to Marlow's about twice a year, so not a big fan. Even then, I seldom leave satisfied. The prices are high for the amount and quality of the food. And being a vegetarian, the selection is extremely limited to salads, a veggie burger and vegetable Farfalle, which is what I had this last time. It was completely tasteless...and at about $15 way too expensive for the small amount in the pasta bowl. Service was nice as was the atmosphere and sitting outside on the deck was pleasant. But if you're looking for a tasty meal at reasonable prices, Marlow's is not the place. read more
