I love the food here!!! They have a great selection,, from yummy breakfast items to a good variety of Chinese food, including two different soups, to roast beef, mashed potatoes, and a nice little salad bar. They have lots of fruit to dip in the chocolate fountain and also a nice dessert section with squares and pies. As well as self serve soft ice cream and a variety of toppings. The service here is really good, the servers are very attentive and pick up the used plates and check on beverages. It's a nice buffet with tables for large groups and booths that fit anywhere from 2 people to 6 in a big booth!! It's nice and bright inside and welcoming and comfortable. Been here 3 times already , and enjoyed each time!! Zero complaints!!! i already have my favorites in the food that is served , like the wonton soup and some nice pies, that will forsure bring me back. Arrived for a birthday celebration. Brenda (Hostess) greeted us promptly and after some friendly banter she led us to our booth. The Food was amazing as always and Brenda was attentive with drinks as we consumed the delicious food...probably more than we should have. Brenda had to clock out but we stayed and visited with each other....the only disappointment was that the used dishes stayed on our table much longer than we would have liked, about 45 minutes and the place was not busy! Brenda had left so no one came to clear our table until just before we left. Other wise our family will continue to visit and enjoy this wonderful place. read more

Me and my family have been going to Buffet Royale for birthdays, parties, and holidays for about three years now, and we have always had a great time! The food is amazing, (I personally always enjoy their asian dishes, but everthing is nice)! And the scenery is spot on! (The water wall & chocolate fountain is a fan favourite amongst us). And for the service, I have never had problems! The staff is generally nice and kind so, no complaints! But the only reason its only a 4, is because out of the couple times we have went, I have experienced dirty dishes. Which was probably an accident, but did rub me the wrong way... Food was fine. I haven't been to a buffet in a while, and never alone, and never had to pay, but I was suddenly hungry in the middle of the afternoon and was right by the restaurant. So, I glanced at the prices on the sign when I came in at 2:45 and it said something like $28 for lunch and I thought that's not too bad - probably spend that much at any restaurant if I order a drink, so I just won't order a drink. Well, I'm all done by 3:20, and the guy charges me $40 bucks! A closer look at the sign says lunch is until 3pm, but shouldn't they have clarified that they charge for what time period you leave in, and not when you arrive, when I came in well before 3pm? I didn't eat that much because, even for that price, coffee is an extra $4, and I can't have dessert without coffee. I'm not a savage! Also, the bathroom there really stinks. I was afraid to go back and wash my hands after eating. Won't be going back there. read more

We made a reservation for a big family gathering. The service was really good. The waiter was on top of our drinks and clearing our plates. The place was a bit small, but luckily it was not very busy. The food was nothing spectacular. It was what I would expect for a buffet. They had a small menu, but it covered the most popular foods. They had a nice selection of desserts which the kids loved. I will be back for another buffet day with the family. the price was decent, and lots of parking. So here's the thing. We came on a weekday and it REALLY wasn't busy which was excellent from a pandemic safety perspective, but not so amazing from a "food turns over quickly" perspective. And we were here with a toddler who immediately grabbed a plate wanting the chocolate fountain (a chocolate fountain is a really big deal for this toddler) so we were kept on our toes for the whole visit. My first plate of food was great (salad bar!) as was my second (Westernized Chinese food mainly). My desserts weren't amazing nor were my western food choices (the corn was over boiled) but the borscht was outstanding! So like most buffets the variety is of mixed appeal. But the toddler loved the fruit and the chocolate fountain and the ginger beef. My partner also found a good selection of foods to enjoy. I'm sure the quality is a bit better when things get turned over more frequently (when they're busier) but I definitely did have a pretty good time here. The staff were amazing at clearing the plates from our table and the staff did check over the hot trays frequently as well. Terrible manage environment. The cleanliness is subpar, and for some reason the management won't address it. Multiple instance of unsupervised children dipping fingers and already used utensils in the chocolate fountain so if i were you i'd go easy on the chocolate dipped deserts. The employees seem over worked and only some of them get tips; even though they all seem to do the same level of work. The manager,seems a little confused and overwhelmed as-well. They seem unfit for there position, or should i say they just can't handle it. I quite literally sat and listened as they lied to my face...? Ideally I'd recommend some other form of celebratory dining experience, as the price is also absurd for food quality. One star. read more

Came here on a Wednesday night with the family around 7pm. Place was pretty empty save for a few patrons. The chain has a thank the customer promotion so adult price is a few dollars off. My 3 year old was free and my 9 year old was half the adult price. So good deal. A few places that I've been to include one drink - this did not. There is a lot of variety. There is a chocolate fountain station with lots of fruit, cookies, marshmallows, and cake pops to dip. My daughter loved it. I liked the selection of fruit. There was a roast beef, sausage, and pizza station although no one was manning it throughout the time I was there. Maybe if someone stood in front then someone would come. We didn't partake. Next was a dim sum station with a selection of the more common items. The shrimp dumplings were great but the steamed pork dumplings tasted a bit old. In the middle was standard chinese buffet fare with your sweet and sour pork, egg rolls, chicken balls, etc.. Kids liked the fried rice. Wife and I had the mussels - it was alright just a little dry. Near this was the salad bar - good selection. I took some cole slaw and seafood salad (fake crab) and it was pretty good. Son loved the corn on the cob. At the far end was some western fare - I only had onion rings; not bad. Next was the nacho/taco station. Daughter loved the melted cheese; she kept coming back for more - with our without chips. I made myself a taco with the selection of beef and all the fixings. For dessert, my wife made a banana split. I had some fruit and the kids had the chocolate station. All in all it was pretty average. It's hard to keep buffet items fresh when you don't have the customer base. When it's more busy then they will probably replenish more. Instead, some of the items were under the heat lamps for awhile. Service was good for a buffet. They cleared out our empty plates regularly and filled our waters. read more

The food was decent, do you have to be careful what you pick going into this place. But the prices are way too much. Dinner for two people and one drink each can add up to $100. Absolute rip off. An amazing improvement from my last review. The food was actually amazing. It didn't matter what you chose from the buffet, it was hot and fresh. Quite amazing actually. Lack of the 5th star this time goes to the staff. Just a bit under performing, but quite honestly they deserve 4 1/2 stars. I'm also nit picking after my last review. My only complaint about the staff is that there was no one at the till when I went up to pay the bill. Had to wait about 5 minutes. No big deal. I grabbed a few extra shrimp while waiting. I would give a 0 stars if I could. this was absolutely the worst buffet we have ever had. Everything was overcooked, chewy, and cold. It was a complete waste of $100 ($35/dinner plate). I complained and they gave a whopping $3 off per adult and $10 for next time. As if I would ever go back and waste more money. They didn't even have staple items like deep fried shrimp or squid like every single other buffet. Everything tasted like it came out of a box that was once frozen. Don't go here. The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because I didn't get sick. I don't even know where to begin. The meat. The roast beef and ham were so dry, and the beef was a cut of meat that should not be served as a roast. And the girl cutting it was cutting it about a half inch thick; major food waste. Nothing even looked amazing, so I didn't try too many things. I was sure the $30 Saturday dinner was supposed to have dim sum and it didn't. We had 4 kids with us and even they didn't like their food. One thing that really didn't sit well with me was the girl carving the beef stepping away from the carving station to clear our plates and returning to the carving station. They also dropped off our bill for 7 adults and 4 kids without asking if we would like it split or together, so that took a while for them to correct. I definitely won't return to this location. Maybe the gigantic "hiring all positions" sign should've steered us away. read more

I like to cover everything in chocolate at the fondu fountain. Some items that stood out included the chocolate covered pickled beet, the chocolate covered pickled onion and the chocolate covered hard boiled egg. It's too bad you're not allowed to fill a cup with the chocolate and drink it, because I would be all over that shit. Two stars simply for the customer service. They come by every two bites to take away plates, refill drinks etc. They did ask how the food was, we couldn't reply. It was horrible. Cheapest cuts of meats, powdered potatoes and packaged rice etc. We have eaten here before and never thought it so terrible. We will never return. Quite nice for a buffet place. The food was decent and there is a pretty broad selection. The cost is around 40 bucks for 2 at lunch. The drinks aren't included in the initial cost but it comes out to around 40. It was relatively empty and quiet during our quick lunch and the wait staff is friendly, quick, and unobtrusive. My husband I have enjoyed coming to Buffet royal at least every 3-4 months for a good meal. To be honest in the past the food wasn't always fresh and hot but it was affordable with the size of family we had. My husband and I decided to go for buffet this evening at 5:00 pm the food was fresh, hot and tasty but the PRICE has gone up to $32.99 a person with out a drink. The cost of two people with one glass of pop is over $70.00 not including a tip for the waitress. In my opinion the food on the buffet nor the service or atmosphere was worth The cost of this meal which is a shame. A good prime rib dinner at the Sawmill Or the Keg costs close to the same price But a much better meal always fresh and cooked the way you want it and it hasn't been keep warm on a steam table. In my opinion Buffet Royal is no longer worth the price per person so sad. Since we had no family around this Christmas, we decided to go to the "prime rib" and roast turkey meal at the carvery. $40/person and it was barely adequate. There was no prime rib; it was just roast beef. While there was a large selection of food, it was pretty tasteless, and the hot food was just luke warm. I specifically asked if the topping at the dessert bar was real whipping cream or dream whip - I was told whipping cream but guess what? It was dream whip. I'd give no stars if I could.
