I stopped by recently while waiting for my flight to NJ…read more I always ask myself, Why do you always get sucked in to having overpriced beers at airports? Then I answer, Because there is just something that hits different about a beer inside an airport. lol. Plus, I love craft beers :P This is your typical airport bar/restaurant. Nothing great, nothing special, but it does the job while waiting. I had a couple Founders All Day IPA's. Delish! I didn't eat anything, but their menu and food did look pretty decent. It wasn't packed on the day I stopped by and the service was great. I'm sure I'll stop by again as I frequent this airport a lot. Enjoy!

When your flight gets delayed, you've got two choices: wander the terminal aimlessly or find food…read moreand drink. Naturally, we chose the latter. Amy picked Local Craft Kitchen and Bar, and honestly, I wasn't too picky at that point. I started with a Hazy Little Thing IPA, which felt like the best beer option on the menu. Solid choice. Amy ordered a side salad and chicken quesadilla. She raved about the balsamic dressing, and the quesadilla was way bigger than we expected. Heads-up though: they charge for extras--$1 for salsa, $2 for guac. To be fair, the portions were generous, but worth noting so you're not surprised. I ordered a cup of chili and a chicken Caesar wrap with chips. The chili had a nice flavor, though I wouldn't have minded a little extra heat. Definitely a cup, not a bowl. The wrap was served warm--unexpected but tasty. It wasn't drowning in dressing, which is a win in my book. Only downside? As a self-declared homemade chip snob, the bag of Lay's felt like a bit of a letdown. Service was friendly and fast, which you always appreciate in an airport setting. Yes, it's typical overpriced airport food, but honestly, the quality was better than I anticipated. If I get delayed again, I'd come back. But no need to seek it out unless you're stuck at the gate with time to kill.

I stopped by here earlier today by myself for lunch. While I had seen Beer Code a number of times…read morebefore, this was my first chance to actually stop and get food. This restaurant is part of the center core in the Pittsburgh airport. The inside of the restaurant is open and looks like a modern diner mixed with a sports bar. There were rows of red cushioned chairs, a long bar backed by shelves with beer taps and bottles, white tile pillars, low hanging dome lights, and multiple TVs that give it a sports bar feel. After looking over the menu I decided on the chicken sandwich. The menu here did have a lot of local beers which was nice and while I was tempted, it didn't make sense for me on this day. It described my chicken sandwich as hand breaded and fried on a brioche bun with pickles, ranch and lettuce but I got it without the ranch. My food came out somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes after I ordered and it was pretty good. I was a little worried about the sandwich being dry without the ranch but that was not the case. It was juicy and had some flavorful spices in the breading. The bun was clearly toasted and the pickles added some salt and wetness while the lettuce helped with the moisture content. My fries were well seasoned and crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. At 18 dollars it was a bit more than I would normally pay, but being at the airport you expect things to cost more. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. It was not a cheap fried chicken sandwich but it was tasty and the fries were good as well.

While my husband and I were waiting to board our flight, we ate dinner at Beercode. The seating host and the waitress served us promptly and politely. Many clean tables and chairs were available. I ate the Beercode Burger, and my husband ate the Turkey Club. Both sandwiches tasted fresh and good. Our fries were slightly too crispy but also tasted good.

Our server was very friendly, but we could tell she was a little frazzled from the large crowd she had on hand. We were able to place our order and get our food within our work lunch timeframe, though. I ordered a turkey club to go along with two apps that we shared: breaded mushrooms and jalapeño poppers. Both were good, but I thought the jalapeño poppers were just a little better than the mushrooms. They were thick, stuffed, and spicy. My turkey club came with a pickle spear and a side of ridgey chips. The club was good, but definitely could've used some kind of sauce. They brought me out a little container of mayo, but i'm not a mayo fan. So, the sandwich was a little dry for me. They really loaded it up with turkey! I ended up taking half home for lunch the following day. Also, on Tuesday's they have a free cookie for each patron! They were chocolate chip and they were definitely fresh and chewy. I would certainly go back for lunch outside again in the future.

I figured wife and I could share a fish sandwich from there. VERY small piece of fish. I am not a big eater but could probably have eaten 2 of them myself! You get a spoonful of coleslaw and a small cup of Mac n cheese for $18+. Wouldn't go there again. Fish was just ok. Nothing special.
