Went there for lunch today. Had steak bites & breaded mushrooms for starters. Then we each had a reuben sandwich. Absolutely delicious and our server was great. Looking forward to returning when the weather improves and can uh sit outside on the patio looking out over the lake. read more

I should have heeded the warning of the reviews on this place. We tried it out this evening because it's close to home. It's cute inside, and the patio looks nice. There were no available tables out there, so we sat in the dining room. Thank goodness, because apparently the patio is also the smoking section. Without dissecting the entire experience, here are the highlights: I ordered one steak taco and one shrimp taco. The shrimp was not cooked all the way, and was not cleaned. I sent that back and asked for another steak instead. Apparently they are frozen shrimp and the kitchen staff does not know how to clean them. On the menu, all tacos are $4 each. I was charged an extra $1 for steak, although the menu does not list this. I was too aggravated to argue after dealing with the other issue. The "Filet Bites" were not filet. Not even close. As the waiter brought the check, I asked about them. He said "they are ribeye. You are probably the first person to notice." I told him this is false advertising and wanted them removed from the bill. After huffing away, and loudly discussing the matter with the manager, they were removed. Pointers? If you must dine here, check your food, and check the menu for prices and descriptions. Hopefully management does the same and maybe clears the menu up. It's a cute place on the lake, maybe for drinks and a nice view. That's about it. read more

Terrible! I'm angry with myself that I didn't check yelp first. Was out riding the lake today and decided to finally stop and check this place out. Nice location tucked away in a corner with a nice view of the lake and patio seating. Just got a beer and the Poutine. I wouldn't feed that trash to my dog. Hot fries, with lukewarm gravy, and cheese curds that might as well have been ice cubes. "Never have I ever" had poutine where the cheese curds were solid chunks of cold cheese. When I said something the bartender acted like I was the crazy one, saying "yeah we use cold cheese curds." So I take it home, pop it in the oven, take a bite, look at the dog, and throw it in the garbage. I hate throwing food away so it didn't bother me so much since it was garbage. First time there, while visiting from Virginia. We had the breaded mushrooms, potato wedges, beyond burger and Rueben. Every bit of the food was excellent and so was the service. Has a nice vibe too. Friendly atmosphere, "the waitress did mention $5 reward for a good Yelp...Kinda cheesy. " They had above average free live music. $2.50 for 16 oz. Miller/Coors light Clean bathrooms. We're in town visiting and our hosts took us to Bugaboos, we went on Friday night (06/09/2017) they had a one man band playing SO LOUD you couldn't even hear yourself think, much less hear anyone trying to talk to you. We sat at a table in the bar area and waited for a waitress that never came, we went to the bar to order drinks. A waitress finally appeared, took our refill order and disappeared, 10 minutes later she appeared drinks in hand and never again returned to our table, someone from our party hunted our waitress down for the tab which we paid and left as we were tired of the long wait in between drinks. We came back again Sunday (06/11/2017) thinking it was just a bad experience and since the bar was right on the lake we wanted to give it another shot. I was happy to see the bar was fairly EMPTY. We sat down once again in the bar, no waitress. I approached a woman behind the bar who I think might of been the manager as there was a bartender too. I was told she'd get our waitress, 10 minutes later here comes the waitress. We ordered an appetizer and our drinks, and once again the wait began. We had decided that we were only going to wait another 10 minutes and about in that much time our drinks arrived. We ordered the potato balls, which were just "OK ". We drank our drinks, and sat empty for quite some time, can you already guess what's next? YEP, I have to go find the waitress to request a refill. She came asking if everything was OK, and I had told her we've been waiting for drinks for quite a while, to which she apologized. Our food came, two beef sandwiches with fries, sadly, it was just "OK ". Guess what? Our drinks were empty and no waitress in sight. Time to pay our tab and get the heck out of there. Can't think of one decent thing on menu. We just simply stopped going there. We enjoyed the outdoor deck overlooking the lake but food was usually bad or not fresh. This is the worse around. Service is terrible, food is worse. Went for a birthday party. I have never seen fries stick together in a big ball, but I did there. Potatoe soup looked like pudding, but no flavor. The Aujue for Italian beef was so salty couldn't use it on sandwich. Sandwich tasted like old beef, through it away. Burger King has better food than here. However if you are there for a stiff drink, that's the place to go. Definately overpour. Maybe that is the secret to better food. Ashley C's review is a sham! (She's my wife) the establishment offers a $5 off for revising on Yelp (rather shisty as no one is going to write a poor review and then show it to the waitress.) The patio was great though. It was a beautiful night over looking cedar lake (lolz). The prices were fair. The food was sub par, just seemed like your basic foods. My wife got a lettuce wrap and it was like shell of a head of lettuce. With steamed veggies stuffed in (missing avacado and dressing) My burger was decent, but it was only $8 what do ya expect. This meal was perfect in every way. The onion burger was fresh, huge and tasty served with fresh cut fries. The mac & cheese was perfect: creamy and flavorful with spiral noodles cooked al dente (as any great M&C should be cooked). Great service and local craft beer with a great view on Cedar Lake. Have been to this establishment 5 times hoping for better service and sadly that has not happened. We came one time during the day and the bartender was great , we then came 4 more times at night and the service was absolutely awful! Not sure if whoever does the hiring thinks that young girls in short shorts equasl good service but they are so wrong. Those of us who live in the area who get a night out and want to have a drink would prefer someone who is personable and good at her job not a young girl who is to busy flirting then taking care of customers. Bad service, took 30 minutes to get a drink. 45 minutes to receive my wife's margarita which was sitting on the bar inside waiting to be brought to us on the patio. The place wasn't even busy at the time 2pm. The tiny margarita cost 9 dollars on top of waiting 45 minutes. I'll start off with the owner saying "this is a family restaurant not a biker bar".... I've been coming here basically since this place has opened, bringing multiple people from out of town. Went by on a Sunday with one of our out-of-town friends, my wife and two of her riding sister's.when we first arrived we ask to be seated outside as there were at least a couple Empty Tables, but we're told there was a list( even though basically no one was there) and told us to sit at the bar, so we sat and had a few drinks among 5 people. As an outside table opened we were told to pay our bar tab and we could start a new tab outside... After we're seated outside and move with our drinks, a waitress comes and tells us(at the direction of the owner)of a "no colors" policy and asks my guests to remove their vests or leave, no offer to even finish their drinks before they go. .. Since we didn't know of this policy or see the very tiny sign at the top of the door, we asked why we weren't allowed to stay or at least to finish our drinks, at which time she said a manager would come see us... The manager never shows, we order food and another round of drinks... Seems to be no problem, right as the food hits the table a police officer pulls up and a man approaches our table with the police officer following, he introduces himself as the owner and precedes asks us to remove the vest or leave, half drinks and all... we say fine we're going to leave, he says be sure to pay the bill THAT'S RIGHT pay the bill for drinks we were not able to finish and food we didn't get to eat..... obvious to say will never be back. read more

This bar restaurant has a lot going for it but has an uncomfortable atmosphere.... I'll get into that later. Drinks - wonderful selection of craft brews that change regularly. The bartenders are always nice and courteous. Prompt with drink refills and make great suggestions. Food - The food is delicious but has a very average selection. Its that midgrade appetizers that almost seem like they are trying to be hip on a budget. Mom appetizers if you will.... Mac & cheese bites would be a good example of this... lol. All the same, its tasty but not inventive. Deck - this restaurant has a beautiful desk that is great for summer and fall. It over looks the lake and creates a very Décor - I adore the décor in this place. The bar is topped with hand drawn tattoos. The walls are covered with beautiful pieces of body art. It really is a unique place. The sign - There is a strange sign on the door that says "no colors". I asked the bartender what that meant because I'm from Chicago Heights so for me, no colors means I shouldn't be there because I don't want to be shot. What the sign is referring to is motorcycle gangs, says one of the staff members. I asked if I should be concerned about it and was told no. Then some bikers came in but they seemed like fine, nice patrons, but the staff acted different... grew quiet... it was uncomfortable so I paid my check and left. I have been back since then and everything went great but something to think about - if the restaurant is drawing attention to the fact that gangs aren't welcome there and then they act funny when a biker comes in, I'm not sure if this is some where I would go after dark. Because I grew up around gangs - big or small, white or black - I don't want to be around them anymore and believe me when I say this - gang members know who is in their gang and who isn't in their gang despite not having their colors on. First time here. We came because we have heard good things about it. So we came on July 3rd when Cedar Lake had its fireworks. So I expected a wait, I expected slow service, I expected to be rushed to finish. None of which happened. The hostess was very courteous, let us know that there was a wait for outside seating but if we wanted to go across the street to the picnic tables and watch some fireworks, she would come to get us when it was ready! I did appreciate that as I had two young teenage boys wanting to play catch. The wait was short and we were seated. The waitress was very prompt and we received our drinks and appetizers in a timely fashion. They even refilled drinks multiple times throughout our meal without prompting. Which I thought was great considering that they were very busy. Used dishes were promptly removed from the table to make room for the main course. Tilapia, shrimp and corn dog was good. The buffalo chicken wrap was pretty spicy for my son. When I tried it, it was a typical buffalo spice. So not really that spicy. Overall we were very happy with our visit. The view of the lake off the deck was a nice addition to our time there. We plan to return. read more

We decided to go there on a Tuesday evening per someone's high recommendation. We ordered 2 flatbread pizzas. That's it. It was us and 1 other couple in the entire place. We waited 40 min. Server was very nice. However, the quality of food is subpar. It's well water (no softener) so even the server said she wouldn't get their water/soda/ or really any drink other than beer. We ordered the spinach and artichoke bread for an appetizer, which was fine. The combo, which came with no Au jus, the sandwich was really dry... My wife ordered a flatbread, which she said was bland (pretty much cheese, a half a Roma tomato on top and that's it) The price for the quality of the food isn't worth it BUT the patio is nice to sit on to have a beer. read more

First time I cane here right after they opened. Food was phenomenal and raved to everyone. Last time I came here a week ago with friends, we were all disappointed. For not being busy at 8pm on a Monday, I'd expect to not receive half cooked fries that were mixed with cooked fries. Potato balls were good, something different. My burger was overcooked (medium and came out well). It had grilled onions and mushrooms with lots of burnt pieces mixed in. Drinks came out fine and my friends didn't care for their mozzarella wedges nor their burgers as well. Sad to say most likely won't be going back. read more

I have been here at least 20 times and never had bad service! In fact we are heading there again in 15 minutes because we love this place! Good food for the most part. There have been a few things we didn't care for like the potato balls. Other than that the food has been excellent. The service has been outstanding. Here I sit in the restaurant dinning area for well over an hour now, the only table occupied and yet to even get acknowledged. Had to go into bar area for every single drink I have obtained. Mind you the bar tenders are humping, kudos to them. After finally getting acknowledgment from waitress, 9;25 pm, to inquire about a menu, I am advised she can' take an order the kitchen closes at 10. The bar/restaurant is in an ideal location overlooking Cedar Lake (if you can get a seat on the open deck). Very busy, small place, frequented by locals and passersby. Parking is very limited. Better to show up on a motorcycle. The food is hit or miss. My last meal was a 'grilled' chicken sandwich with avocado mayo on brioche according to the menu. What shows up? Barely pan seared, boiled, unseasoned chicken with slices of avocado on a butter top hamburger bun. Dry and flavorless. Decent atmosphere, cold drinks and fair appetizer selection but not a place to go if you are looking forward to a good meal. read more

We came here after golf at south shore (same service). I have been here last year and it was nice. Had a pretty view and good sandwiches. Brought two people that had never been. We ordered sandwiches. Two of us ordered the chicken wrap the other a burger. Took 45 minutes to get out order. My chicken was very dry(over cooked) the others were ok. My friends said they would never go back because of the service and that it was too bad because they really liked the looks of the place.
