I am not a big fan of hot dogs and most of the time all hot dogs taste about the same to me. However, Buldogies is an entirely different breed. Everything from the bread they use, to the toppings, and the 100% beef hotdog itself is high quality, I've had their fries, tater tots, and sweet potato fries; they're all great. My favorite hot dogs they have are the Chicago & Chili Cheese dogs. Both were amazing and I wish they had a location close to me so I could eat here more often. I drove 67 miles just to eat here and I did not regret it at all. If you have the chance to come to Buldogies I highly recommend it. Yes Yes Yes And yes again. Our first visit and it was an absolute feast! We had already scoped the menu and knew we wanted to try several dogs: the Chicago, the North Carolina, the Sundance, and the Montgomery. The restaurant is much smaller than I thought it would be - and much smaller than it deserves! Though the menu consists of hot dogs and fried fair food, the owners, Jamie and Bre, were dishing out top notch service and absolutely delicious food along with Chapa behind the counter - and they need more room because more people need to need to experience what they are dishing out. Along with the dogs listed above, we ordered sweet potato tots, fries, and a funnel cake. We had seats at the bar and got to chat with Jamie, Bre, and Chapa and it made our experience all the better. As the hotdogs came out, and I had my usual yelp photo shoot, they were too cute making jokes about getting all the right angles! Chapa let us know that we picked all his favorites off of the menu and he obviously has some damn good taste - we spilt each dog three ways so that everyone in our group could try them and they were all winners (see photos for ranking). Their relish was on another level, and their bacon was otherworldly- these hotdogs are what all hotdogs should be based off of - my only wish is that I had a beer to wash it down with. We learned a bit about the history of the place and why these guys do what they do and enjoyed good food and service at the same time. Our feast experience all happened within an hour, too! I'll start with I'm not a Karen. I'm personally in the food service industry and own several establishments. This was my first and last time in this place. I ordered the Johnny Ringo Corndoggie. I'm a foodie so I'll try all sorts of new foods. The presentation of the dog was cute but it looked burnt. I tried a bite anyways but as it looked, the bacon and the outside bun were definitely burnt. I didn't eat anymore. I was very polite and let the lady at the register know and she told me she'd let the cook know. sh didn't offer a remake or anything else. so I didn't eat. Again I'm not a Karen but that's not a great customer experience. I went to pay for the tea I got and I was charged for both my tea and the dog. I reminded the lady I didn't eat it and she charged my card anyways and walked off. Again, horrible customer experience and for someone in the business I'd never treat a customer this way especially one that's paying to eat out when times are tough for most. read more

My wife and I heard the buzz about this "Bulldoggies" place and had to try it out. First, we found out it was actually Buldogies. The location was a little difficult to see from 105, but it's right next to an El Bosque. The place is a hole in the wall, with a small bar counter with about 8 stools and there's about 10 2-person tables. When we walked in there were only a few people, but within 10 minutes there were people waiting outside for a seat. Those are really the only Cons I can say, and they're not even really Cons. I'll probably get a pick-up order next time. So, let's talk about Pros: The service is fast, food is extremely hot and fresh. Had the Nathan's dog since I know Hebrew National. My wife got the Montgomery TX which has cheese sauce, jalapenos, brisket, chives and tomatoes. I got the New York, with red onions, saurkraut and deli mustard. Both were fantastic and served on a toasted, buttered bun. The portion is generous, but we still got some of the spiral cut fair fries which were our favorite thing. The shakes were rustic and hefty and we had come in with hopes of trying the fried desserts and fair favorites, but we were too full at that point. The prices and portions are excellent, hard to find better without sacrificing quality. Just don't come in looking for an expansive menu with lots of healthy options (they DO have chicken and tuna salad sandwiches). By far, the best dog in Conroe right now read more

My wife and our son stopped in for our first time for dinner and had no clue of what I was about to experience. When I think of hotdogs I'm usually like meh. The restaurant was clean, organized and smelled friggen AMAZING from the food. I can't even describe all the scents I smelled. It reminded me of childhood times growing up and going to the fairgrounds. Powdered sugar smells, fresh bread smells, cheese sauce smells....I'm going here for lunch today ugh. So we way over ordered. I was thinking that they would be those little jankity ass franks that you buy at the store. I WAS WRONG! The food is large portions which we love, but I could barely finish one of my dogs. We tried the chili cheese dogs, Chicago dog, Corndog, Philly the Kid, 2 Funnel cakes and a chocolate malt. It was amazing! The buns are toasted and fresh, the dogs are Hebrew National and they are like sausages! Everything was extremely fresh and made to order. The cheese sauce was amazing and the presentation was picture perfect. All the veggies on my Chicago dog were fresh. The horseradish sauce was fantastic too. My sons corndog was hand dipped and the chili cheese dogs were not greasy and overpowering the cheese. The chocolate malt had to be hand spun and super creamy. They served it with a large thick straw not one of those weak ass little straws that takes an hour to enjoy it. Funnel cakes had maybe just a little too much powdered sugar and I had it all over the place. We got ours with freshly sliced strawberries on top. Deeeeelish y'all! I thought it was a little pricy until I considered the quality, portion size and freshness. We spent $60 but like I said it was my fault because we over ordered. I would like to say we have lived in Walden for 7 years and I don't know why I didn't ever stop in. I was continuous asked how my food was and they never missed a beat if we needed anything. If you like fairground food mixed with some nostalgia, I highly recommend this place. Perfect for a family fun night with the kids. This will be a regular visit for us. I'm a big guy and I wasn't sure I would be filled up with one hot dog, but you should see the size of these dogs! No matter your size, you won't be hungry when you finish your meal. Damn girl - you really know how to compensate for a no pedicure letdown. We sat down at the bar and were instructed on the ordering process - write down what you want. I actually feel sorry for the cook as they are going to have to try and decipher my chicken scratch. I asked what was their best dog and before I could order - someone is putting a hot piece of candied bacon down in front of me. Here, try this. Wait - I'm in a restaurant that just hands out bacon. I must have done some seriously good karma stuff last week. I ordered the Sunrise (boars head Black Forest ham, candied bacon, cheddar, chipotle mayo and a fried egg- on top of a friggin hot dog). I also had a chocolate shake. Ash ordered the Pale Rider (boars Head roast beef, Vermont cheddar, grilled onions and horseradish mayo - she added the candied bacon. She also had her sans bun cuz of the devil worship Keto thing she's doing. She skipped the shake. My hot dog was incredible. It was damn good before all the deliciousness was added on top. It was hot with a crispy skin and the bun was soft and bigger than normal which was good considering the mountain on top of that thing. The guy next to me gets handed his order of twisty fried potato things - their version of fries, and I must have muttered something like holy shit under my breath because the next thing I know - I'm being handed some as well. "Here man, try our fries." Wait first candied bacon and now free fries. Missed pedicure? What missed pedicure? These things are huge spirals with ridges and a light breading - they are crispy on the outside and soft and hot underneath. They are really, really good. The shake was hand spun and thick with about a 3/8" wide straw sticking out the end. It was also very good. These folks do what they do well. This was our first experience eating here, I must say ..OMG!! from the very first bite, everything was amazing, for us, great is too weak of a word. We ordered a BLT and I had a Doc Holiday and we shared the Texas Tater Trio which is a potato sliced like a wedge with a light beer batter and fried sweet potato and tater tots. So, I apparently have never had fried potatoes fried correctly because these were nothing short of amazing, the sweet potatoes were very crunchy on the outside, tender and sweet on the inside, likewise, the wedge potatoes, the same way, nice and crispy with a tender inside and the tater tots speak for themselves. The Doc Holiday was so good, just the right amount of pastrami and sauerkraut and the sauce is to die for, it was so good I ordered a second one to bring home! If you're thing about going here, stop thinking and go! This was way, way better than I thought a hot dog could ever be, the staff, and the owners, are great.
