This place is very clean and the grounds are well manicured and taken care of. The Brazilian lime aid is my favorite as it tastes just like you're eating a key lime pie! I did like the hardchata as well, it's creamy and blast you with cinnamon. We had to grab a 6 pack of the Hard Brazilian lime aid to take home to enjoy. Fantastic find!

Evasion Brewing was the latest McMinnville brewery I got to try lately. I do have to say the beer…read morewas fairly unique and very flavorful that made this brewery experience a positive one. The Batch 3 Imperial Barrel Aged Stout was very good with it's cinnamon, chocolate and bourbon highlights. Buckwheat was also involved in the making of this beer which is gluten-free but I do enjoy the Buckwheat flavor in general as it has a naturally sweet flavor to it. Investigating further into the brewery Google has it listed as temporarily closed and further prodding on my part on Facebook reveals that the owners have been doing well with the business but are deciding to sell it since they don't feel like they have the time to properly run it. I did not learn that new ownership has taken over the reigns yet. So it sounds like the taproom is closed but perhaps call ahead if possible to see if someone is there rather than going there to find the taproom not open. I have also spotted Evasion's products at select liquor stores like Total Wine and Beverage so that may be an option to explore with as well to try out their beer.

I had two beers from ForeLand and both were very solid! Probably my favorite was the Glass Volcano, a dark lager with a great roasty, coffee flavor with a bit of sweetness. It then has a clean finish which contributed to a very enjoyable lager overall. Mesmeric Gaze was the next beer Steve and I enjoyed. It was an IPA with very fine flavors of pine and citrus generating a slightly tropical reminder. One of the better IPA'S I have had in the last month or so. Definitely a rewarding beer experience with this brewery and a worthy stop to make regardless if UFO's are involved or not.

Unfortunately, the way we were treated made us feel anything but welcome. Our 3-year-old was playing with the toy bin they provide for kids inside, while we were mainly gathered outside. Like any toddler, he made a mess, but I was mindful of it and cleaned up after him when asked. About 15-20 minutes later, I noticed the entire toy bin had been removed. When I asked the staff member (manager?) why, her response was curt and dismissive--essentially saying she was tired of cleaning up after kids. She even said she "had kids too," but the tone felt more like scolding than understanding. I explained that we come to places like this because they advertise themselves as family-friendly. Instead of hospitality, we were made to feel like a burden, as though children weren't actually welcome. The worst part was overhearing her continue to talk about us to others while we were still there. That crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain rude. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. For parents constantly searching for places to enjoy a beer while their kids have space to play, I can confidently say Heater Allen is not it. If you don't want children there, don't advertise as kid-friendly--it's misleading and creates an experience that feels hostile for families.

I arrived a little before she did and had a chance to check the place out. It's a simple tasting room, but welcoming. One of the owners was behind the bar pouring mead and was an absolute sweetheart. Of course we ordered a flight. Everything we tried was enjoyable, although I was disappointed they didn't have the Tart Cherry Vanilla ready for tasting yet. My favorite was the Blackberry Melomel Semi Sweet. My friend ended up buying a couple of bottles on the way out. It turns out that one of those bottles was later given to me as a gift. She's a sneaky one!

The other reviews are not kidding when they praise the view! The space is absolutely gorgeous-- the tasting room feels luxurious and comfortable, and tables are not too close together. But wow, the view takes the cake. You overlook the vineyards, and even though it was cold and cloudy we were blown away. What really impressed me, though, was the service. Our sommelier, Adam, was incredibly personable and a joy to talk to. Further, he was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine-- not just the tasting notes and region. He knew a ton about the history of the land/winemaking in this specific part of Oregon and the ecological preservation efforts of winemakers in the area. He produced photos and diagrams of different soil types and explained how they impact the taste of the wine when we did side-by-sides. When I mentioned I had a chemistry background and expressed interest in the chemistry of the winemaking process, he was able to speak in detail about their wines and the ways they are made (probably because he's actually worked in the cellars, too, not just in customer service). As I have mentioned in other reviews, I don't always feel like I get a great customer service experience at wineries because my partner and I are pretty young and because I often have on alternative makeup. We were given A+ treatment here, and I want to thank Adam for making the experience feel special. The wine was good. We got a bonus pour of one of their sparkling wines to start, which was lovely and a nice romantic touch since we were celebrating. I liked their Chardonnay (concrete egg and VERY light oak which is probably why-- I don't like a heavy, buttery Chard) and was surprised it was so good-- it was a seven-year-old white which is unusual, but it really worked. We got side-by-side pours of the pinots, which was great-- I love when wineries do this! It makes it so much easier to taste the different notes. We ended up getting a bottle of their Riesling. The tasting was $25, which is an absolute steal for the level of service we got. Truly a wonderful time, and we look forward to returning.

Update: Shelby, as I shared in our phone call at no time was I told there was a 6-8 year window to consume these wines. 6 @ $50-60 I view as theft when a winery doesn't attempt to make things right.
