It was ok. I def had a lot better. I'd say it's a local steak house and that's about it. You could tell what was instant mix food and what was frozen etc.. def will never go back. To each his own but def not my idea of a "good" steak house. When I can cook a better steak at home I'd say you have some work to do. Celebrated my Mom's birthday with a party of 13. Service was excellent, friendly accommodating staff. The food is good, some entrees are better than others. I'm not a big tex-mex fan, but had the fajitas and they were good. Daughter enjoyed a nice hamburger. Several others had prime rib and said it was good, and cooked right. My party of 9 received amazing service at Bull's Steakhouse! Taylor, our waitress, was very attentive but not too overbearing. She was especially careful to make sure our drinks were always full and made an effort to clear dishes away before bringing out other food so we had plenty of space. Bulls is like stepping into a time machine back to about 1964. This is a classic steakhouse with Tex-Mex overtones. Steaks are the star, but they also have other classic entrees- chops and a hamburger steak as well as sandwiches and dinner-sized salads. The TexMex menu features fajitas, burritos and tacos. There's a full bar with a middle-of-the-road wine list. I had a glass of chardonnay and my guest had a berry Margarita, which she found to be good. My fried flounder entree was tasty and large, and perfectly done. My guest had a "prime rib French dip", with cheese. I think the cheese was unnecessary given the rich character of the meat and au jus. My dinner salad was plentiful and crispy. The baked potato that came with my flounder was medium sized but tasty. My guest enjoyed her chocolate sundae for dessert. Service was friendly, attentive and never intrusive. The trainee server showed great potential.The interior is a bit dark, and decorated with western artifacts in the classic style. Although the food and service was great, the place could have used a visit from Restaurant Impossible. But it remains popular locally because it is a "known product" with no surprises. We'll be back. Parking is in a private lot, and quite adequate. In reading over the other reviews, I see that the poor reviews are usually based on some service quirk rather than the overall experience. read more

Stopped in to have dinner last night at Bulls, a local restaurant. Was seated, for some unknown reason, in the lounge area for dinner. Our table was extremely narrow and being that it was in the lounge, very loud from the fellow patrons at the nearby bar. We had a very good meal- even though my steak appeared dry and overcooked, it had a very good taste and the inside was just right. Very nice meal at a good price- just not the dinner ambiance that I would have preferred. read more

I have always loved BULLS! We usually sit in the lounge and have always had superb service and delicious food. The owners are always coming by and checking to see how the guest are doing and they carry on conversation. We even had my birthday party here! I'm giving it 5 stars based on my past experiences. But the other night my family and I decided to go here. We asked for the lounge and was told it was full. I could clearly see 4 empty tables. At any cost we sat in the dining room, no real biggie. We had a young man who was our server (I'm guessing he was kinda new). He halfway greeted us, took our drink order and before we could ask for appetizers he was gone. 20 minutes later he returns with our drinks. We ordered appetizers. Meanwhile, we taste our drinks. My mothers Bahama Mama was terrible! Either the oj was bad or they used grapefruit juice in it, my nephew ordered Dr Pepper and got Pepsi (the waiter never brought him the Dr Pepper after repeated request) and my other nephew asked for chocolate milk and he brought him white milk. After numerous attempts to flag our server down, not only to correct the drinks but to place the order, he finally stopped and acted as if we were an inconvenience. 3 bahama mamas and all 3 were terrible! Which is insane because they're usually spot on! Our food was cold but, we had been waiting forever and we're hungry so we ate it. Normally we would have ordered desserts but opted to venture elsewhere based on the evening. We were really disappointed. The whole night was off, no thank you, no come back to see us. Next time we go if I cannot sit in the lounge, I'll opt for another restaurant. Oh and when I say I've been coming here for years, I've been loyal since it was called The Peppermill. read more

My son and I had dinner here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I had the rib eye ranchero and it was quite tasty. My son had a filet that he really enjoyed as well. The atmosphere is darker like older established places are but not uninviting because the people are so nice and the service is great. Being new to Lynchburg we are trying to patron locally owned businesses and this is probably our favorite so far. Our server was exceptionally sweet and I usually try to remember names but I dropped the ball this time. She is from TN and I do remember that much. read more

The food is consistently good and i'll take it over the chain restaurants in the area. I have been to Bulls several time with co-wokers (we all travel in from different cities) and what really keeps bringing us back is the service. We stopped in here on our way to an anniversary get-away for a celebratory dinner. We we're say right away and had drinks, apps, and soup within minutes. The waitress, Cheryl, was helpful but not pushy. She didn't even ask for our dinner order until we got reasonably through our soup/app. The French Onion soup was rich and hot. The queso was creamy with warm chips. We both had the ribeye (one medium one midrare) both were cooked just right and the broccoli wasn't over done. When we asked for the check they brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. It was an awesome start to our weekend. I visit Lynchburg frequently and am always looking for the local place to eat. Generally I've had good luck thanks to yelp. This time, not so much. I wanted beef. And I'm not big on the chains although it would have been better if I had gone somewhere else. The food and decor reminded me of a Dennys from 1988. I got the prime rib with green beans and a side salad. Let's start with the green beans - straight from a can,although they did have a decent Smoky flavor, apparently they forgot that food can come from something other than a can. The salad tasted like it came from a bag and the tomato was mush. Well I think, at least there will be meat. Honestly it was one of the worst pieces of meat I've ever had. It reminded me of going to a bad chain restaurant and getting grade B meat. I'm sorry, I really wish I could write a great review but I just can't.
