Got in a fender bender and jacked up the right side of my car. Took it to a couple places but this was by far the best bang for my buck. Chapprone Auto gave me a quote ($1700) but suggested I try Bumper Doc or Bumper 2 Bumper since my car was a piece of crap from 2001. I was looking for a quick and cheap cosmetic fix and proceeded to Bumper Doc. They quoted me a little over a grand so I also got a quote from Bumper 2 bumper. They got it down to a little over $700. They did great work and, while not perfect, it was exactly what I needed. I was very please with the experience and would go again. Can't beat that price. On the downside I'm pretty sure they stole the change I had in the center console. Not cool but it was only like 10 bucks so I'm not sweating it. I ended up totaling the car 48 hours later but they were nice enough to refund the fog lamp and wheel guard that they had ordered but had not installed yet. 4/5 read more

Had a "family accident" between my BMW and my wife's car that wasn't bad enough to use insurance, so I started looking around for a good and reasonable place. Carmax recommended this place and another place that was somewhere in Canada, so I checked these guys first, then Penske a few blocks away (recommended by BMW dealer). The Penske plan (and appropriate estimate) was to fix the door dent by rebuilding the car from scratch. The quote was funny - I almost thought they just didn't want to deal with it, so I got a quote to chase me away. So... Went over to B2B, and spoke with Memo. He came up with a quote that, while not "free", was reasonable, so I gave them the job. Picked it up a few days later and was extremely pleased by the work. Made the cost seem very reasonable after all. Would definitely use these guys again, and really really appreciated the good communication with B2B. They always picked up the phone, which is a bit rare these days. read more

I needed some body repair to my 5th. wheel RV. Bumper 2 Bumper was recommended by a friend and Memo came out to look at the damage. I had to go to the East Coast for 10 days, we hoped the RV could be fixed in that time. Upon returning from Connecticut we called Memo and he told us the RV would be ready that Saturday. I was referred to Ryan from Bumper 2 Bumper from another auto body shop so figured this had to be a great place to take my car! I had to get my whole bumper replaced and repainted from a car accident I was in. From the start, Ryan was so easy to work with. Rather than needing to take my car in for an estimate, I sent him photos of the car with my vehicle information and he was able to stick within the same quote the first auto body shop quoted me. When I dropped off my car to them in Kearny Mesa, I was expecting to uber back to downtown for work and they offered to drive me to work. I was shocked at this level of service! Ryan and his team continued to go above and beyond and even assisted me with adding on an interior cleaning (the exterior is already included) with a company across the street from him. I didn't have to do anything; he took care of it all for me. When my car was ready a couple days later, I was trying to figure out my work schedule and Ryan offered to drop it off to me at my work when it was ready. I was shocked at the level of service he and his team provided (and the car came back Like New)! I'll definitely be coming back for any auto body needs! read more

I have a Prius 2011 that was hit on the bumper and had other scratches as well. I took it down for Memo to look at and he went over the whole car offering me information with such polite integrity and thoroughness that I had a great feeling about the sort of business he runs. He explained to me about the different tones of paint and showed me how the original factory tones are different on the bumper than on the car body. I had never noticed it before. He gave me a very good price, as I had checked out three other places and their prices were at least $200.00 higher for the same work. I came back a few days later and left my car for three days. In the meantime I had texted Memo a couple of times to ask him about the progress on it and he prompted replied to my questions. You couldn't ask for a more professional and honest person to do business with. When I picked up my Prius, right at the time he said it would be availble, the car looked fantastic. I regretted bringing my car to this shop. The bumper paint was pitted, uneven, rough with running paint spots. The dent was still noticeable. It took 2 weeks to fix a bumper scratch! When I brought the car to the shop Memo told me they will take apart the bumper and stripped the paint and repainted it so the initial quote, though was high, sounds reasonable for the job they were going to do. 2 days after I dropped off the car, Memo called me back to tell me there was structural damage to the bumper and additional work needed to be done for extra money. Now, the new quote is almost as much as having a brand new bumper put in with a whole new coat of paint. Two weeks later, I came to see the car and it looks like they did not strip the whole bumper to repaint. Instead, they cover some part of the bumper and painted with very rough textured paint. There were pits and bumps on it. Memo said that they didn't repaint the whole thing to preserve the original factory finish! The dent on the front was still visible! Unless you want to grieve for your decision. Do not use this place. read more

I believe this is my first review on yelp. I had my car taken to Bumper 2 Bumper specifically because they had several 5 star reviews. I had my car in the shop in March 2013 for an T-bone type accident totaling about $10.5k. First, the employees I spoke with were good at generally keeping me updated and the owner, toward the end of my experience was sure to be in contact with me. However, the initial estimate of the damage was for 2-3 weeks. The initial work order showed 60hrs of labor. The insurance co stated that 4 hour per business day is the industry norm for expected work for each car in the shop, so 60/4=15 business days = 3 weeks estimate was reasonable. However, a couple days before the 3 week mark, I got a call stating that it would take 2 more weeks because "these types of repairs take time" and there was "more work than initially anticipated", though the new estimate was only 8 more hours (2 more days, not two weeks). Total time of the 3 week repair was 6 weeks (3 week extension and not the ridiculous 2 week extension quoted, which is ridiculous, as confirmed by the insurance agent in email writing to me subsequently! This required an extra 3-4 hours of my time on the phone between the insurance co and Bumper 2 Bumper to keep track of actually getting my car back any time near the quoted date. I had anticipated not writing a review and just leaving it be, but after I got my car back (the work done was excellent from what I can tell aesthetically by the way) however, over the couple weeks after I picked up my car I started having electrical issues. It turns out that the shop neglected to secure the terminal clamps on the battery posts, which was causing a requirement of repeatedly entering codes to enable the radio and nav system, and most importantly, drained battery issues because of the lack of steady connection to the battery due to the clamps not being tightened down whatsoever (no other shop or work has been done on the car between). Each of these things are not a large deal and I am understanding of common hitches that happen over the course of a job. However, when the shop can't even take the time to tighten down battery clamps, causing further hours of my time wasted, on top of the imposition of pushing a 3 week repair to a month and a half, the last straw led to this review. In fairness, the owner did an incredible job of handling everything once he was my contact over the last week, and the shop seems to have done good work, the delays and dropping the ball on such a simple thing as that outlined above, are ridiculous. I will leave it up to you as to whether you want to use this shop. I will not in the future. read more

This shop has great customer service and also does great work as well. Memo is the man, he has always made sure that I am taken care of and I have never had an issue with these guys. I've used them numerous times throughout the past couples years and nothing but awesome work and customer service. This place was amazing! I recently took my car in after it got some scuffs and scrapes from a small parking lot accident. Not only did they fix the damage from that, they also repaired the other random small "marks" that my car has acquired from life in San Diego. The work they did was perfect and everyone there was extremely easy to work with, and the best part is that it only took 1 day! I would take my car back there is a second...but hopefully won't need to. read more

My wife banged up her Volvo and was really shaken. Memo and Ryan helped calm her by providing a fair price for the parts, repair and the paint job. A week later, the car looked good as new, but even better when she returned for a complete buff and wax a few weeks later after the paint completely dried (that was included as part of the service). Brought my restoration project car in for full body paint. I had stripped the body to bare metal and needed final body work and paint. Memo quoted a two month turn. Four months later the car was still sitting in the shop with no work done. After a stern conversation, they finally started work and finished the paint only to discover a major screw up with the filler on the hood. It had now been in the shop six months. The hood was re-done and I was told the car was ready for pick up. When I arrived to pick up the car I found several areas that had not been painted including the door jams. Several weeks later thay finally finished painting but had left a scratch in the hood. I asked to have the scratch fixed, and Memo said he would fix the scratch, but after that, the car was mine. In other words after fixing the scratch that his people had put in my new paint job, he was no longer willing to do any additional work. The implication was that I was being unreasonable for asking him to fix the scratch. This shop has a constant stream of dealer prep cars that take priority over other work. Restoration work has lowest priority. Overall this was an extremely unpleasant experience. Total time from drop off to pick up was eight months. I would never do business with this shop again. read more

Stopped in 7jan for an estimate on fixing my front bumper and hood. Didn't get a quote, just told to bring the car in. Dropped my cat off 11jan under the impression that it would be a few days, 1 week at the most. He didn't give me a quote or any paperwork when I dropped my car off. I spoke with memo 20jan and he said "normally we require half down so we can buy the parts" but I was out training that week so I wasn't able to get him the "required payment" when I got home from training I stopped by on 26jan to pay my balance in full. My car didn't look like it had been touched since I dropped it off on the 11th. I stopped by on the 28th to see how things were coming along. Having been there for almost three weeks I would have thought they'd be closer to a completed project. I was weong. I still have no bumper, and my hood is buffed. I received a phone call today stating it'll cost me another $200 on top of the $2550, I've already paid to fix my light. Now I can't be positive because I font know cars, but I'm almost positive when I discusses fixing my car with him, we talked about fixing the front completely. But now there's an additional charge? Although I do not blame them completely because I messed up 8n trusting that they would do right by me and not take advantage of my ignorance.
