We decided to go for the OG classic and have a nice bowl of BBH to warm our bodies up. The ambiance is very laid back and nostalgic. There were several families coming in for dinner shortly after we ordered so you know it's a good local joint! The owner was kind and began opening the blinds to bring in more light as we sat down at our table by the front door. We got BBH and egg noodle combination soup. I found this restaurant nearby the Airbnb we were staying at which looked very promising. The location that my friends and I went to is located next to Almeda Food Mart and Tasty Cajun on Kingspoint Rd in South Houston. There is a parking lot with ample stalls. I believe there is another location closer to the city but unsure if they're owned by the same people. I got their Bun Bo Hue Dac Biet was also really good! The broth was a bit different from what I'm used to but in a good way. It had a little lighter yet nice deep flavor from the variety of meats/bones it was cooked with. Loved how much protein there was! It included pork blood, beef, steamed pork, and pork hock. Yum! For a small size, I was really impressed by how much I was given. Even the prices were crazy cheap compared to other restaurants I've been to outside of Houston! My friend got their Pho Dac Biet (combo) was really good! The broth was soooo good with tons of umami flavor that didn't taste too "clean" which I loved! And she had a ton of proteins too. Don't be fooled by the sketchy exterior, this place is definitely a gem. The bun bo hue here is delicious! I was a little thrown off when I saw the cost for a large bowl is $10, but that bowl is HUGE. They do not skimp out on anything so you are definitely getting your moneys worth. The small bowl for $8 is about the same size of a large pho bowl at any other restaurant. There's a small salad composed of cabbage and basil leaves and a couple of lime slices given to you to garnish your soup if desired. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and the service is friendly. I only subtracted a star because the eggrolls weren't that great. My go to spot for a quick lunch/dinner, price is fair and food is amazing. The owners are super friendly, staff is ehh but don't let them ruin the taste for you. They have quite of a selection if you check out their menu. I go there for the bun bo hue and it is always on point and I've tried just about everything with no complaints. I got the bun bo hue special which had everything in it ( cabbage, herbs, blood, pork bone marrow, 2 different kids of beef ). I would have liked this dish a little more spicy. I would def come back and eat this dish but also try other dishes. I had the nuoc mat. It was delicious it does have a few different types of jelly in it and some black seeds. I would have preferred a little more grass jelly in my drink but other than that it was delicious. The bo luc lac was also very tasty to my surprise. The dish came with about 8 small cubes of beef ( wished there was a few more cubes) and a side of rice. I heard that the Banh beo and com ga was good here. I got to the restaurant at 7:30pm and those dishes was sold out ( they close at 8). I spoke with someone who worked there and they told me that they only make a certain amount of Banh beo and com ga daily and it usually runs out at 1-3 pm. I have been wanting to try their bbh (bun bo hue) since I moved back home. I did try duc chuong first and it is good. My dad personnally likes Co Do's bbh because the noodles are longer. I never noticed but Co Do's bbh is just as good. As another reviewer mentioned, their broth is clearer. Their sizes are just as big as Duc Chuong. Anyways, I am not bashing one or the other as both serve good bbh. However, this place serves more than bbh. I uploaded a pic of my dad's dish and he cleaned it up! What stood out about this dish is the 'sauce'. Usually it is served with a dipping soy vinegar sauce. Here, they give you this ginger minced sauce which I did taste. It was different and great. I have not tried but have heard from another friend to try their banh beo. Will have to give this place many more visits for other dishes. read more

Menu is good--some variety but not too much that you're confused to their concept. Most got the Bun Bo Hue, but I stuck to my absolute favorite dish, Hu Tieu Dai Kho, a chewy noodle dish with soup on the side. Noodles were the perfect level of chewiness, toppings were the perfect accompaniment to the dish, and soup was simple yet flavorful. The staff are all very friendly and food came out very quickly. This place is really good! Speaking as a Vietnamese person, this place takes me back home in my heart! They have very good Bun Bo Hue, which is their signature dish they are known for. HOWEVER, any other dish they have is absolutely delightful. From the Bun Thit Nuong to the Com Bo Luc Lac. Even the appetizers they have are on par! One of the best Vietnamese restaurants to go to. As soon as you step into the restaurant it feels like you're at your aunts house ready to mow down some food!
