Time to update my rating to 5 star. My whole entire family and extended family has been patrons since they opened. Their food takes me back to my childhood menories, sitting under Shamiana for someones mayoun or mehndi, eating fresh bbq kabobs with parathas, some super sweet halwa to go with it. Yummm. People who don't like Bundu khan are not familiar with original Karachi bbq. Their seekh kabobs are NOT standard supersized, boxed masala made, they are original seekh kabobs, size they are supposed to be. Nothing can compare, absolutely nothing. Is there a long wait still on weekends? Yes. Do they mess up the order sometimes? Yes! But their customer service is top notch now and has gotten so much better than when they first opened. All the servers are trained to go out of their way to help. I was there last night with my sister and son. It was packed, we were there for almost two hours, but we expected that going in. I was so impressed by the way they handled herds of people, one of the servers saw us waiting for a long time, she went and checked on our order and got it out on time. I wish I asked her name. Great location, delicious bbq, friendly staff. It was our first visit and some of the items were unfamiliar to us. We asked questions and were given patient and informative descriptions. Everything was made to order, fresh and delicious! During our meal, we were approached by a gentleman (the owner?). He asked about our experience and offered more recommendations. Off the bat, food is great. We visited around pm on a Saturday and it was not crowded. We placed our order and it arrived promptly. Food was delicious and the concept is great. New infrastructure and finally a great place for some good Pakistani food. However 3 stars because of the following: 1) Music was extremely loud as we in a club. Would recommend lowering the music down to a decent sit down restaurant decibel. 2) Too many flies- already. Place is new so this shouldn't be an issue but unfortunately too many fat black flies. 3) Naans were doughy, so they come out slightly undercooked which shouldn't be the case as it feels a bit raw especially around the edges. 4) There were over 12 staff which was great, however no one was cleaning. There was a bus station but floor and some tables were dirty. Hopefully they keep up as this place is brand spanking new and should require basic upkeep to keep it going otherwise it will all go downhill. 5) Lastly, the disposable silverware was way too flimsy and bendy. Suggest procuring some better disposable silverware for a good dining experience. Overall a great Pakistani Halal restaurant and will continue to patronize it. I have been craving desi nashta since I ate at Bundu Khan in Labore, so when I was in the area I had to stop in. I ordered nashta, masala fries, and beef seekh kabobs. The nashta and kabobs were okay, but they shorted me the masala fries and I didn't realize it until I was too far away. I was a bit disappointed with the nashta as it definitely didn't live up to what I had in Pakistan. read more

Food is great but it takes forever to get your food. So if you do decide to go there just makesure you have 2 hours or to spare.

We came on Christmas night, because there were very few other restaurants open. The place was packed to the beams. Despite the press of the crowd all the way up to the register and beyond, the staff of the restaurant handled --what seems like over a hundred people and their orders--with rare calm and kindness. Kudos to them. I don't understand the negative reviews. Look at the amount of people... obviously it's going to take awhile. We've been here a few times and the food never disappoints. Bihari kebabs here are always good as well as the lamb chops. The chicken tikka was excellent. Naans good as well. Excellent Pakistani bbq food and polite service. I do think they need to open another restaurant around Pasadena area, and maybe another one at Diamond Bar. Because this restaurant is so busy they either need to expand it or get more staff open the second kitchen. It's usually super packed. read more

I feel bad writing this review since this place is popular with Pakistani community but health safety should be first! I hope management takes notice. They made us wait 30 mins and then served raw chicken!!! We then waited another 30 mins for recooked food. I'm pretty sure they reheated the same dish! At least one server was apologetic other had an attitude problem. I have always wanted to try this place as the food looked really tasty. First impressions, however, were really poor. The wait staff seemed to not want me there. It took more time than was shared with me. In fact, I think they started making my order after I had come back from picking up an order from another restaurant. The beef skewers that I had ordered were tasty (a bit on the salty side) but not worth the wait or the poor service. After trying the Chicken thigh I noticed meat was pinkish wasn't cooked properly I tried the seekh kabob it was warm-cold felt like CLAY with spices. I went back up to the cashier I said chicken is not cooked and can I get my seekh kabob hot cuz by the time you gived my order it was cold she said this is how we serve .I came back and told wife let's go.We litterly took 3 to 4 bites Also the green sauce it was water mixed with food color and spice nasty. This place has been open for a few days.... I can't even tell you how amazing the food is. It's like I've been transported back to Karachi but without the hassle of a flight! I will acknowledge that this place has been open for all of three days, and given the collective nostalgia that this name invokes with the Karachites, it's no wonder that the lines are long... And you may not know when the cut off will start because they do that when they start running out of food. If you're the adventurous sort, let me tell you, THE WAIT IS WORTH IT and the stress and tension of whether or not you'll make the cut is WORTH IT. It's an experience. You'll tell your friends about it and they'll be jealous. The food at the end is like nothing you've ever experienced for. If you're impatient, entitled, hangry and have unrealistic expectations and assume that his little spot has the ability to magically have an unlimited supply of meats, please come back in a few weeks and save us all the embarrassment of witnessing your cranky public tirade. Ok, I'll off my soapbox, but it has to said. I had the tikka, the chicken and beef bihari, and the chicken seekh kababs with paratha. The breakdown is that they were just like from Karachi. The taste, the look, and remarkably, even the smell... It smelled like that smoky charred bbq that I never imagined could be replicate here....the paratha was crispy and papery and dripping with oil.... And I've even eaten at off the BBQ tonight Khan Menu in Dallas. This is the best. It's authentic. And it will bring tears to your eyes. You'll want to come back. Again and again and again. Mango lassi? Wow. I can't even. I want more right now and it's only 9 am. This won't be a fair assessment if I didn't address the operations. Given the massive lines and the fact that they are three days old, I think it's natural that they are not quite there yet. They are working on their timings and one has no choice but to be patient. I will say that the workers are pleasant. And the family are pleasant and chatty, and it's nice to be able to interact with them.... Can't be easy to be them in the face of the hangry desis! I learned that they do have the only official license from the Bundoo Khan family and they have been trained in Karachi. Which all makes sense when you taste the food. Went on a Sunday with four other couples . Parking was plenty and seating was avaliable with no lines. The place operates as a fast food, you order and take the meal to your table. The place was well organized. If you order the breakfast special you get the kabobs a little salty but tasty. The Halwa is the best , a must have. The Puri is large and soft. They also give alo chollee. The whole breakfast was a awesome deal for one breakfast enough for four people the cost is $30. Food arrives quickly after the order. Very good Desi style grilled kabobs and tikka. Famed Pakistani brand with excellent taste. Highly recommend the chicken tikka and seekh kabobs. Also have typical breakfast with halwa puri and channa.
