I've been coming here for a couple years now. These are the best bundts I've ever had . Hands down. And they'll be the best you've had too. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was an unfortunate experience i just had. I actually moved farther away and coming here on the few days they're open is very out of my way, although worth it. I was in town and wanted to get my favorite bundts for some old coworkers nearby and surprise them. I wanted to get the 9 bundts for $25 . I asked for 6 in one box and 3 in another because I'm taking 3 to another person (and didn't want to take the box off 6 to my old coworkers and have 3 missing spots where you can tell i took some out .. it just looks tacky and cheesy..especially for how expensive these bundts.. although worth the price). The lady just flat out said no. I had to get them all in one box.. if i got only a box of 6 it was $22 and would have to get a separate box of 3 and pay the $15 or whatever it was. I couldn't just get 2 boxes? It would mess up the presentation completely so i just said forget it and left. I actually went quite out of my way to come today and was really disappointed that after coming here for 2 years religiously (and raving about it to Lots of ppl who also come ) they couldn't just split the boxes into 2? I really enjoy this shop, it is better than nothing bundt cakes and I love supporting small businesses. My favorite flavors are Bundtfetti,Cinnabundt & strawberry lemonade. The red velvet is alright. I love the glaze on the outside of the cakes. The only reason I deducted a star is because the customer service. The ladies working aren't very friendly or helpful and feel feel rushed to order. This was a surprising find in LB. The cakes are cute, being slightly larger than Nothing Bundt Cake's Bundtinis. They offer a large, rotating selection of flavors so check their website often to see what they have. Note that they are a bit on the sweet side and the intensity of the intended flavor can vary from one flavor to another. Zesty Lemon cake is very good, Strawberry Lemonade is good, and Orange Marnier is okay. Be sure to check out their other offerings, especially their bag of mini Caramel Pecan Praline cookies. I purchased a 9 pack with german chocolate, red velvet, pistachio, vanilla, strawberry lemonade, and cookies & cream. I cut them all up to share and everyone was happy. I tried each flavor (horray for being gluttonous). Not highly impressive but satisfied the sweet tooth. My tip, grab a bag or two of their mini carmel pecan cookies and call it a day. This is my second visit to try these mini bundt cakes, on my first visit they were sold out mid day and I left annoyed. My daughter is the main reason I gave them another chance, she visited this weekend and said they were delicious with one exception, the pineapples cake needed more flavor. The cake is light, moist and very tender full of chocolate flavor with a dollop of coconut frosting, its sooooo good. Strawberry- lemonade cake. This cake is moist, sweet and lightly glazed it packs a slight sour lemonade flavor which is complimented by a perfect dollop of frosting. Lemon mini bundt cake. A tiny Lemon glazed, moist flavorful cake it's light and very tasty, this one is my favorite. Alright... lately I have been telling myself that I need to wait until I visit places a few times before writing reviews in case you had a random good or bad experience the first round. However, this place stood out today and I felt that I had to write one now and give it a 5! Also due to distance, I won't get to stop by as much as I'd like. We happened to be in a neighboring city about 7 miles away eating when my husband pulled this place up on Yelp as a nearby place for dessert. Since I have had an obsession with another bundt place lately, we figured why not? A downside is that it is located in a very tiny parking lot with a few other small businesses on Long Beach Blvd., but don't let it deter you. This place is delicious. I will be honest, I did not even look for what the options and pricing were for the regular or bigger bundts, because I came in planning on baby bundts and they were all at the front in full view, calling my name. So many choices..... what the heck to get? The baby bundts here are smaller than the mini ones I get at the other place, about 2.5 of these would equal one of those, but the pricing works out to be the same, and I can eat the same amount in quantity as I would for the other for about the same price, and this allows me to try many flavors. It was funny to have one of the staff members say "You are checking in on Facebook aren't you?" to my husband. I told him it was Yelp and he was quite surprised that we found them through Yelp. He was asking about it and we explained that it did indeed pop up as a nearby location for dessert. He was very happy to hear this. I was offered a sample of the coconut flavor and had to politely decline as I do not like coconut. The staff was concerned as to why when I declined, but understood when I said that. I did express that I was eyeballing the cookies and cream baby bundt. She said that it was one of her favorites. The man, being happy that we found him gave us a free baby bundt to try. I thought that was really, really cool of them to do. Wow, was it delicious! Another difference with this bundt place compared to the other is that it has a thin layer of glaze icing on it, and it is a very nice touch! Prices on baby bundts are 3 for $6, 6 for $10, 9 for $13, and 12 for $18. We went with two devil's food chocolates, one classic vanilla, one lemon, one strawberry lemonade, and of course a cookies and cream. I was excited to dive in, but we got it for dessert. They also had coconut, pineapple, german chocolate, and red velvet. I hear that they do rotate some so you never know what may be there. I can say that every single flavor I have tried now, are all delicious. I am sure that the other ones are as well. My two favorites were the cookies and cream and the devil's food chocolate, but all were delicious. Every single one of them bursts with flavor and is moist to perfection. Love, love, love this place. My mom used to buy bundts for us when we used to live at home. In 2013, My family had my grandfather's funeral on the same day of my brother's birthday. We could not celebrate his birthday, so we decided after the funeral a bunch of my cousins and I would celebrate my brother's birthday at round 1. We ended up picking out six mini bundt cakes for $13. We went with their red velvet, cookies & cream, strawberry lemonade, and vanilla & chip. My absolutely favorite is their delicious cookies & cream. I love that there is a perfect amount of frosting on top without it being too overly cheesy like other places. The flavors area always done right and the amount of sweetness is perfect. Although it is slightly priced higher than other bundt cake stores, it is still worth checking out. A friend brought these little scrumptious pieces of heaven to a party and I have been in love ever since. These bundt cakes are the best! "Nothing Bundt Cakes" who? These are my new found fave bundts. So far I have tried the Devil's Chocolate, Red Velvet, and the Blue Sock-It-To-Me flavors. The bundts were good but all were just a touch too sweet. If these had come from a grocery store, they would've been acceptable but when a business specializes in a specific product, I tend to expect to be wow-ed.... This place missed the bullseye.. Not by much but it was still a miss. We got an assortment of bundts, all different types but the flavor profile seemed to stay the same for each one... Just sweet.. I was waiting for a specific flavor to really stand out above the others but, all that waiting was in vain because the time never came. I'd say the best was the lemon. I'll probably give it another shot, just to see if maybe we just caught them on an off day... On another note.. To be honest. Nothing Bundt Cakes was the only Bundt cake bakery I knew of. That and the Bundt Cakes sold at Costco. Haha They're good. But this review isn't about either. Bundts On Melrose is delicious. We tried their red velvet, strawberry lemonade, German chocolate, cookies and cream, and I believe double chocolate. Surprisingly they're not dense like the typical Bundt cake. They're lighter and fluffy. Full of flavor. The glaze adds another layer of sweetness. I was nervous about the strawberry lemonade. It was a perfect mixture of sweet and sour. German chocolate and dark chocolate wasn't to rich. Cookies and cream gave a nice blend of the two. One not over powering the other. I highly recommend this bake shop. I'll be sure to stop by again. Next time I'm in Long Beach. read more
