They tell you a time to pick up and then keep pushing it back and it ends up being closing time. When I arrived I was the fist in line at 7:45 am, I had two of my little dogs with me and there had to be 15 more pooch couples behind us. The groomer arrived 10 after 8am. I dropped of my babies and asked when I could pick up, I was told 2pm, so that is when I arrived for pick up. My boys still where not ready... mind you I was the first one there. I returned at 3, as I was asked to do. When I was waiting at the front desk, what I saw made the decision that I would never return... a woman, sitting on a stool,clearly aggrieved with her client (the pup looked like a small black poodle with a muzzle ) she was clearly hurting the little dog by squeezing the dogs knees in the back to make him/her be still. That obviously didn't work the dog was scared. I wish I could describe the situation better but I'm definitely sure that woman wouldn't treat the puppy in front of its mom and dad. When my boys came out from the room,I sent one of them back because he looked like one side hadn't even been clipped! My other little boy has not stopped shaking from the experience and this was two days ago, apparently what he experienced was traumatic and now I can see why. I hope that he wasn't groomed by the woman that was Grooming that poor a little black poodle. read more

Third time's a charm? Except the first time was great, too. Our second visit must have been an off day or something. I mentioned before, and I'll say again- the owner is absolutely wonderful. She's so kind and caring, and she always answers all my questions in depth about grooming techniques to help make daily upkeep much easier. Even though it's been a while, she even remembered the issue I previously had and worked it out with me. I really can't say enough good things about this woman. My pups came out looking perfect just like the first time. Ellie looked like she lost 5 pounds of fluff. Her feathers, pants, and tail were all beautifully trimmed. Sally's coat was soft and shiny. I do highly recommend this groomer. I've come to realize I don't really understand grooming much, so our bad visit may have partially been attributed to poor communication. I didn't really know what to ask for or what terms to use, so I recommend that you make sure to be clear about what you want for your babies and get a quote before dropping them off. read more

I take my pups here to have their nails trimmed. I like that they grind the nails so no sharp edges to scratch you or furnishings/floors. The place is always packed & busy. The staff are phenomenal & you can tell they LOVE what they do. It's so cute to hear them talk to the dogs as they work. We have been going here for years and finally had the last straw. EVERY time they tell us to drop our dog off in the AM then don't get her done until late in the day. This past Saturday at their request we dropped her off at 9. Came back at 4 and they hadn't even started!!! Their excuse was "sorry we are busy". Well, guess what? Just a quick update on a groomer I have now been using about a year now. Be sure to call the day before to make sure they can get your pet in and get there when they first open for faster service. My dog doesn't need a cut or anything more than a bath and his nails ground down. So I cannot tell you about their special dog cuts. But for a basic medium sized dog monthly bath and making sure his nails are kept comfy for him...you can't beat the $25 price tag. By now they are familiar with my puppy and call him by name and always give him a cute bandana as he leaves. The staff is very sweet with him. My dog is never crated and I hate that he has to sit in one while he waits for me. So now I have them remembering to call me as soon as he is done so I can come get him. Friendly staff but not very skilled. By far the worst grooming job on each of my pets- on 2 separate occasions. Brought each pet out unfinished, uneven hair length all over for a #2 clipper job with several areas seemingly untouched. read more

Be ware! Do not trust groomers in this place! On November 7, 2018 I took my Chihuahua just to be bathed. Less than 20 minutes later, I went back, to find my healthy chihuahua, INJURED, bleeding from his mouth and crying in pain. He was loose raining away from the groomer. He was in such pain, that I had to take him to the vet. Took x-rays and found Capi with a broken tooth, broken jaw, suffered from severe trama to the right side of the body. He was suffering to much and on November 9, 2018 they had to put him asleep. I want people to know what happened and be cautious to protect their dear pets in similar situations. I know that my dog will never be replaced but I want the public to be aware of this establishment and the Savage monsters people, that works in this place. read more

Was quoted a price of $50 for grooming a cat. When she was picked up they charged $97!!! Bait and switch on price for sure!! I work hard for my money and I spend it to keep my fur babies well cared for but at twice the quoted price that is ridiculous! read more

I have brought my dog here a few times and every time they call me if they have to cut more than expected. I've always been happy with the service but today I took my dog in and specifically told them to please not cut him too short because we wanted him fluffy for our wedding in two weeks. The lady acted like it was no big deal and said well sorry and also said it's Summer. Who asked for her opinion about it being Summer?! I explained to her again that we wanted him fluffy for the wedding but I don't guess she couldn't get that through her head. Needless to say I wasn't very happy this visit and I will be taking him somewhere else to be cleaned up for the wedding day. read more

Loved this place the first time we went even though they don't give you a firm price and quoted me at around $45 but when I picked up they charged me $80 which is a little ridiculous but we did love the haircut. Now the second time we went we asked for the same thing and she came out looking nothing like the first time. Also they very rudely told me that next time I should give her some benadryl before brining her so that she won't bite as much. Excuse me but I am not drugging my baby just so you can still double the price you originally gave me. This place lost my business. read more

We used to rave about this groomer. We started sending our dog there when we moved to Houston in 2011 and he's been going there ever since. However, the ladies have started talking badly about our pet and other pets in front of us. They mention how he should be neutered in front of us and he is 10--a little too old for that. The ladies argue between each other and my wife can still hear them talking badly of our pet when she's walking out the door. On top of that, he gets choppy haircuts and most recently he had a cut on his ear from their blade. Sadly, we won't do business here anymore. It was a convenient, well served groomer a few years ago. Based on our experiences, we wouldn't recommend it anymore. read more

Beyond horrible, Skinned my 14 year old Golden and took 4 hours ! So upsetting. Last time she came home with bloody paws. These people obviously are the most unorganized people in the world ... keep no records that they can clearly go back on and see what the dog's Treatment has been in the past . Also have no record of your appointment when you bring your pet in and act like they are being "put upon " to groom your dog ... and $92.00 later . My Golden is old , has fatty tumors on her skin and they basically just ran the shaver all over her . I can't imagine her pain . I feel like suing these people ( even though I'm not the suing kind ) My Belle now when we even touch her anywhere , winces and is super sensitive to any touch at all by literally jerking when she is touched . I was referred to this hideous groomer by Brittmore Animal hospital and I will certainly let them know my experiences ( 3 now ) and done ! read more

I have used Bunker Hill Grooming for years with no problem. I used to rave about them and refer friends, but not after what happened on my most recent trip. When I arrived to pick up my Maltipoo, the lady who brought her out to me informed me that they had knicked her ear because they were brushing out a mat and proceeded to show me the spot on her ear. She explained that they had stopped the bleeding and were monitoring her all day. I appreciated that she told me what had happened, and I completely understand that accidents happen especially with a moving dog. So imagine my surprise when I get home and check my dog's other ear which is also cut and still actively bleeding. I would've appreciated being informed that it was BOTH ears and not just one AND the ear that she showed me was just a minor cut compared to the other ear. I don't understand how this happened to BOTH ears??? After one was cut wouldn't you go gentle on the other one??? After this visit I will no longer be using Bunker Hill Grooming and I will be letting others know of my experience. read more
