I loved my surfs up bowl! I found them to be reasonably priced with friendly workers. The bowls are filled to the brim and often look like works of art. I usually go to bouy bowls when they're around me and i've never had a problem except for this time. I had ordered a regular brotella bowl (which i usually get) and i was excited to dig in. A little less than half way through, i had found a hair that I pulled from my mouth. The hair was shorter than mine and was brown so i knew it wasn't my hair. I wasn't going to say anything but then as i thought that, I PULLED ANOTHER HAIR FROM MY MOUTH. i'm not usually that picky about a hair in my food but two is just too much. I'm kinda disgusted and threw my half eaten brotella bowl away. I think I'll wait a while before getting another one anytime soon. Buoy Bowls is a delicious food truck that travels around Wake County! The toppings I like the best are cacao nibs, bee pollen, bananas, strawberries, and granola. Therefore, I typically get the Maui Wowie (which has almond butter, no cacao nibs) with no blueberries. I think the base of the Maui Wowie is the best (Acai, strawberries, and coconut water). While still good, I'm not very fond of the bowls whose base includes apple juice. The pitaya smoothie is good as well, I like that it is not very sweet. I went to buoy bowl with one of my friends and after we got our bowl she was walking into the car and her dog hit her hand and made her drop her bowl. So she went back to the truck and told them what happened. They made her pay for her bowl and then asked her to clean up the mess because they didn't want them to get in trouble for getting the parking lot dirty. It was just very rude. My last visit to Buoy bowls I waited 50 minutes in the parking lot for my bowl which I had pre-ordered ahead of time on the app. In total I waited around an hour and 15 minutes to get a bowl of $10 fruit that I could have easily made at home for much less. When I went to the cashier twice to check on my order she seemed very uninterested and unconcerned that I had been waiting so long. The employees were no help when I politely expressed my concerns with the wait. Hello. I come to buoy very often. I have always been satisfied with the quality and customer service and all around experience with buoy bowls. Recently I have had a very horrible experiences with buoy bowls. I went to a truck off of Edwards mill and ended up waiting over 50 minutes for a brotella bowl, which I understand can happen when it gets busy, but the person handing out the bowls was not calling out the names of the buoy bowls that were done being prepared. There was then a line to get your buoy bowl, but the whole experience was very aggravating and made me extremely frustrated. When I finally got to the front of the line I wasn't greeted with kindness but rather nonchalant from the worker. I then came again to buoy, 3/27 to brier creek and tried ordering on the app at 2:40 and the app wouldn't let me order so my sister and I went up to the truck and asked how we should order because the app wasn't working and it wasn't 3 yet (which is when buoy bowls says they are open until) and she told us that she cannot take our order and that we have to order through the app and I said I tried to but the app would not allow me to do it and she said that the app stops taking orders at 2:30 and then she walked away in the truck so we could no longer see her. My sister and I were very mad because we got to the truck around 2:45 and they would not allow us to order and there was no line or anyone and I understand that it might be policy, but please next time tell people so that they don't waste 45 minutes driving to get a buoy bowl, just to be told no. Customer service absolutely sucks. I had a concern after an issue with the app that cost me $20, and I tried contacting them multiple times about it. Their phone number and email do not work whatsoever. I direct messaged them on Instagram about my problem, and they read it and didn't respond. I tried again, and they read it and didn't answer. I contacted them one last time about how frustrated I was with them and they read it once again and didn't answer. I have been a loyal customer for over a year. My gym buddy got me hooked on açaí bowls. Never have I ever had one & I'm so happy I did! We drove all around Raleigh to find this food truck & the line was extended in another Gym's parking lot. It was about 11:30 am the day before the SUPER BOWL & about 45 degrees out. These conditions however, did not stop anyone from waiting in line for a bowl of yummy goodness. I ordered the Surf's Up bowl & it was amazing! Expect to wait about 20-40 mins, as everything is made fresh to order and it seems like only 2 people run the show. Hands down the best acai bowl I've had!!!!! I consider myself pretty picky (my friends would side with me on this one), and Buoy Bowls was beyond worth it. I'm happy to say that because I have literally tried to find this food truck 3 times, yes, THREE times, and was already so mad that I couldn't but their quality and taste erased all that from my memory. I got the Maui Wowie because I like almond butter and it was DELISH. They ran out of hemp hearts so I replaced it with Goji berries and nevertheless, it still tasted amazing. The bowl variation is great and the amount of toppings is perfect. I usually find myself. It liking the acai bowls with lots of acai and little to no toppings because then it just feels like I'm drinking a smoothie out of a bowl using a spoon. I'd highly recommend trying one of their bowls. They offer regular and small sizes. Buoy Bowls has an instagram page where they upload updated weekly schedules. If you become a frequent visitor, I'd recommend asking for one of their loyalty punch cards! I am always so impressed with Buoy Bowls. Everything that I have had is absolutely delicious and I have never had a poor experience here. The owner is always working hard to make sure everyone is getting their bowls as quickly as possible and the quality is always above par. First off, my family use to love Buoy Bowls! We have gone numerous times and spent 60 a pop. However, my last bowl had dirty blueberries on it. Yuck! Do they even wash the fruit? Also, there has definitely been a staff change on the truck and the vibe just isn't as good. Most often, we've waited in line for 30 minutes to be told they're out of supplies to make more bowls. Most recently, they didn't have any fresh berries left for us. They were supposed to be open for 30 more minutes when we ordered and they still didn't have enough by the time we actually got our order (30 minutes later). You'd think that a truck that's been around as long as this one would have figured it out by now but they haven't and it's coming at the cost of customers now. We won't be back.
