One of the best overall breweries in San Diego with multiple locations and the friendliest staff. A must visit if you have not tried.

I was extremely impressed with these dudes. I first learned of them through their collab with Pure Project and I knew I had to go checkout what they had cookin' at home base. I'm glad I did because they had some dank beers that washed down rather easily. I would recommend trying any of their NE style hazy IPAs; they are delicious, but my favorite was Trade Bait. So good! I wanted to try this place after I heard some comparisons to Modern Times, and I can't say that they are accurate. We tried about a dozen of their offerings, and I can't say anything made a lasting impression other than the imperial coffee stout, which was delicious. Most of the beers tasted very light, and a little undercarbonated. There were some good flavors, but nothing rose above the surface or stood out. I love that they have unique styles that you won't find anywhere, but I wouldn't say that it was anything truly outstanding. My experience at Burgeon Beer Co. was great! My girlfriend and I enjoyed our drinks, which were both the Deliberation IPA. The beer tasted very balanced as it was not too hoppy, hazy and not too sweet either. In addition, their bar design and furnishings are all very nice and unique. Been goin' there since they opened, bought 100's of cans, and got turned away on New Year's Eve with my pops when we made it just before their "regular" last call..... Burgeon is everything a local brewery should be -- and then some! First of all, all the beers I've tried have been very good. I appreciate that they have a few non-IPAs, as it's very easy to get IPA'd-out in this neighborhood. The employees are friendly and very helpful in assisting with beer choices, especially toward those of us who don't geek out on subtle floral yet piney nuances of some obscure hops clone. They also give lots of love to my pup, the wonderful and talented Wee Baby Ava. Burgeon has the prettiest interior of any of our local breweries. I know, I know: most brewery tasting rooms are in warehouses. But Burgeon has gone above and beyond, with interior trees and beautiful, burled tables and benches. There's usually a food truck out front. Or better yet, grab something from the nearby Pizza Port in Bressi Ranch. That'll make the staff smile. read more

The open layout of this brewery is nice and their service is pretty spot on. We tried the Dutchman's Pipe, Lot 19 & Carlbad Confidential (pictured left to right). We also tasted the Common, Burl, Hitched on Haze and the Trade Bait. Out of all, I preferred the Common. Try out a few of their 5oz drafts for just $2 each! 4/5 stars because there were rowdy kids running around and not near enough seating. I think if they added a few small games (e.g., darts, corn hole, etc) and got rid of the small children in the bar they are worthy of 5 stars... keep up the good work! read more

Came here the day after Thanksgiving and it was packed. I couldn't believe the amount of people but with that said we were still able to get a table for the 5 of us. You order at the front and then you can choose anywhere to sit. They had mostly hazy ipas on tap but did have a few others, even a slushy . Most of us got the juicy hazy ipa which was delicious and has the best flavour. It was pretty smooth too. The slushy was not for me but other people liked it. It was a blonde beer with pina-colada. I thought it didn't mix well together. Unfortunately they don't let you sample it as they only serve it in the 5oz pour. You can sample all the beer on tap and they are so helpful with suggestions. Also they have there own food today it was grilled cheese and burgers which is great but they do let us bring food so we brought cheese and crackers. I really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back. It's a great to come with friends/family or to watch a game. read more

This is such a great new addition to the brewery scene in North County SD! I love the location and the proximity to the freeway. There is a lot of parking both in front and back. The tasting room is a really good size, great ambience, with lots of seating. They have an excellent selection of beers. The Crippler Double IPA is amazing and probably my favorite beer on the menu! They also have a few other really good IPAs. The cream ale was also delicious and gives Mother Earth's Cali Creamin' a run for its money. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting board is a great deal at $8 for four pours. I will definitely be back. Super stoked to have another brewery in the area. read more

The place is pretty hidden, and there's no place to drink outside. There's few places to sit, and doesn't seem like you'll have much privacy. There's 3 little spaces along the wall that looks like you're separated by trees. It's my favorite spot to sit with my hubby. The beer itself is REALLY good. Their Hazy IPA is my go to. Customer service is pretty cool. When we were here it was really busy so I could see why the employees seemed a little frustrated. read more

Stumbled on to this place. Firss time here and tried the Pistal Pils; what a great, refreshing beer. The have a BBQ menu that looks pretty good tHiugh we did not try - wish we hadn't had lunch previously or we would have tried it. A lot of seating, bar seating and long pub tables - room for all. Given the density of businesses in the area, a brewery needs to stand out to have repeat customers, and Burgeon is clearly doing it right as this spot is always jam packed! There is a good amount of parking in the back, and I've never seen the line for beer more than 5 deep, but finding a spot to sit or stand can take a sharp eye. That said the's a lot of room and you're bound to find some nook or bar to rest your glass or bum on. A regular food truck outside keeps people from running home early, though I've never tried it. Their beer menu is quite diverse and everyone should manage to find something they like. Some of their beers have very fair prices too. Burgeon is doing it right! read more

We just had our wedding here a few days ago... It was everything we dreamed of and more! My husband and I are huge craft beer fans. We fell in love with Burgeon back in 2015 during our first San Diego trip. This brewery has always held a special place in our hearts, so we thought the Green House would be the perfect place to get married! Melody made the process so easy, if felt like we had known her for years after our first meeting/tour. She kept clear communication with us and helped us every step of the way! And she helped relieve any kind of pre wedding stress/nerves whenever we felt them coming. We couldn't have done this without her! As far as our wedding day... It was absolutely perfect! I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. The beers were amazing (as usual), the venue was gorgeous, everyone was having fun.. the entire evening just flowed so well. We even got to take pictures with the tanks at the brewery. All of the brewery staff is SO sweet and kind, they made our day that much more special! If we could give Burgeon 100 stars we would, don't skip out on visiting this place! read more

Stopped here on a whim and am so glad we found this brewery! Lots of great beers (a huge collection of hazys), friendly staff, easy parking, and great ambiance. Favorites from this visit were Everybody's Juicin' and Beach Daze. We picked up some 4-packs of Park Pass and Juice Press. All delicious. I had an appointment with the barn door dudes and they recommendation to go try the beer here. I've never been here before had no idea what their policy was. My husband and I walked in and asked if they had any type of seating or if it was to go only. The woman working said, "Nobody in San Diego should be sitting and drinking beer"... I get that we all are struggling with covid but she didn't even try to meet us with any kindness. We simply asked what the process is. I was so disgusted with her animosity that I walked out. Rude staff and head banger music playing way too loud on a Saturday late afternoon when the place is half empty. Asked for some different tunes and got an earful from the beer tender. Took almost an hour to get an order of burgers from the food truck, and again the place was not that busy. Not a good experience by any means. Hip brewery tucked in the "industrial" part of Carlsbad. Stopped by here on Friday after work to find out they don't have a happy hour, which wasn't a big deal as their prices were pretty much what you would pay for happy hour at a restaurant ($5-$8). The spot has a good feel to it, I especially liked sitting in the bench under the tree. I did knock off a star cause I couldn't quite find a beer I really enjoyed (I like fruity IPAs).
