Definitely a step up from fast food, but came out just as quick. I had the Southwest Burger, the Thai chili mustard caught my eye. My son had the Hangover burger, mainly for the fried egg. All of their specialty burgers sounded delicious. Next time I have my sights set on the Waboo: bacon, pepperjack, jalepenos, tortilla straws, wasabi mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, drizzled with bourbon sauce. Doesn't that sound mouthwatering? The patties were thick and cooked well, and toppings fresh. We had a difference of opinion on the fries. I liked them a lot! My son said they were just okay. I also indulged in a chocolate milkshake. I wish it didn't come out before my food though, as I have no self control and almost got full off of it! I dig the rustic decor and flannel shirt uniforms, they are living up to their name. The few suggestions I do have is stay away from the Mac burger. It's not as good as it sounds. I suggest that they add more burgers to the menu for more options when ordering. I have been hearing rave reviews about Burger Barn, so I decided to treat my fiance to a date night for dinner. We took our dog with us and headed there. They have outdoor seating, so it was perfect to sit out there with the dog. It was a little cold the night we went though! While they waited outside, I went inside to order. It was packed with people on the inside, which was a good sign of the food to come. I ordered a double hamburger with only lettuce, tomato, and onion, the Pavilion chicken sandwich, with mozzarella, tomato, spring mix, and balsamic sauce, the large onion rings to split, and a cookies and cream milkshake. It was around $27 for everything, and I grabbed water and a table number before heading back outside to wait. When the food arrived, everything looked so good, but my fiance bit into his burger and realized they put everything on it, which included ketchup, mustard, mayo, and pickles, and he does not like. He flagged down the waiter and let him know his burger wasn't right, so the guy apologized and immediately went to fix the order. He brought out another burger with the correct ingredients on it, and we dug in. The chicken was plump, cooked to perfection, and had plenty of flavor to it. My fiance really liked his burger, which was greasy and full of flavoring from the salt and pepper seasoned on it. Our dog even got a little bit and a lick of the creamy milkshake, which was more than enough to split between the two of us. We enjoyed our meal and were full afterwards! This meal missed the mark for me. I ordered the Mac Burger, John did a build your own burger and we split an order of onion rings. It was just mediocre to me. John loved his burger and even ate my left over patty. My burger came with a slab of mac-n-cheese on it and nothing else. It was bland- the mac wasn't very flavorful even with all the cheese stretching from burger to tray every time I took a bite. It looked amazing- but was just meh for me. The onion rings were the same- the onion was a sweet flavor, but the breading was so plain- it just was a swing and a miss. I ate one- very unlike me. I ate half my burger. Luckily John was hungry and cleaned up after me like a hoover vac! He agreed there wasn't anything special to the onion rings- but he didn't think there was anything bad either. The service was quick and you place your order at the counter, get a table sign with a number and they bring the food to you. One of the best burger spots I've been to from quick service, to the taste of food. Been here a few times and will be back again and again. Burgers are super juicy even when they are cooked well done which is impressive since I normally eat a medium burger. They have a great selection of house burgers, but you can do a BYO if you would like they have free toppings as well as add ons. My fiancé is a HUGE fan of their wings and the flavors are unique and tasteful to their style of food. I was excited that they do military discount as well, and their counter workers are always nice, and get our order right. Management is also great they consistently are walking the floor when they aren't helping bump at some great food, asking customers one by one how food is and if they need anything. Traditional fast casual setup where you have a walkway for the ordering line like at Chipotle or Tijuana Flats and then the seating area setup so you can grab a table after ordering. Decor is very farmhouse, which fits in well. The menu is pretty extensive and has a decent amount of choices for burgers and sides, which I really liked too. I got the Hangover and it was really just nothing special at all. Dry, overcooked beef, very poorly seasoned and a fried egg that was overcooked. The onion rings tasted fine. They seemed like the exact ones you get at the Publix deli. Not impressed with the experience, so I won't be coming back. Very deceiving, their menu said they had a veggie burger but when we went to order they said the veggie burger was a beyond burger, which is soy and chemicals. The food came out unappetizing and it was a little tacky- the Caesar salad was just iceberg lettuce, cheese and croutons. And the chicken sandwich tasted like fish.
