Drawn in by the delicious char-grill aroma. Burgers were good and crinkle fries are my favorite. Other menu items looked really good too -especially the chicken.

Fries: 6/10 good enough to eat and enjoy but not so good it's all I think about. Not enough salt lol Chicken sammich: excellent flavor 9/10 Pecan pie? Doesn't exist I wanted pecan pie they said it's on the menu but they don't serve it. Disappointed they are misleading there but whatever Will I return? Yes I think I will

My bud and I were searching for a quick place for a late lunch, so we wound up at Charcoal Delights. Located at Foster and Kedzie, they have a convenient parking lot if you are driving. They have an extensive menu, so it might take a minute to peruse everything on the board. Once we placed our orders, the food came out quickly. I must say the service was super, as one woman knew I wanted a take-out box for my leftovers before I even asked for it. She also impressed my bud by reciting their entire week of soup specials. My bud ordered a two piece broasted chicken meal, which comes with coleslaw, biscuit, and soup. I ordered the ribs 'N' broasted chicken combo, a staggering meal including a half slab of ribs and half broasted chicken (4 pieces). My meal also came with garlic bread, coleslaw, soup, and baked potato. The soup of the day was navy bean, which was a very hearty cup filled with more beans than liquid. The broasted chicken is similar to fried chicken but allegedly healthier for you, so that's cool. The ribs were saucy and good if not great. Indeed, I had plenty of food from this combo to take home and share with my love. It cost $23.99 but since I got a couple of meals out of it I believe it was worth it.

Haven't been in this place for a while, despite living nearby. Some changes have been made. For one thing, they gave me an actual knife and fork and an actual plate, not just the plastic and paper stuff. Fancy! My drink and soup were both served in styrofoam, though. The fries are better now than they used to be- crispier, and I happen to prefer crinkle-cut fries, anyway. The fish dinner is probably the item I've ordered most often here over the years, and while the basic components have stayed the same, I've noticed that the fish pieces have gotten smaller. The cream of chicken soup is still good. I don't understand the lettuce that comes with the fish dinner. Is it meant to be a salad? It's just a bunch of shredded iceberg lettuce and two slices of tomato with no dressing. Is it meant to be a garnish? Then why is there so much of it? The place is reasonably clean, the bathrooms don't smell terrible, the prices are not too shocking. It's still a pretty good example of the kind of place it is.

It always smells so good when we drive past and we love good grilled food. Especially burgers. Today we stopped and got two burgers and fries. Their burgers are huge! I could only eat half but it was very good. Crinkle cut fries. Everything made to order, but it didn't take long at all. And they have a large menu if you want something else. Good fast food and tbey have a drive thru too.

Still probably my favorite burger in Chicago. Always freshed grilled with that smokey flavor. Fries are nice and crisp without being overdone. The biggest problem is that their broasted (fried) chicken is also amazing. So unless you want to eat yourself into a coma, you're going to have to choose. It's a painful dilemma. It gets worse: their Greek chicken is excellent too. So good luck with your choices. Haven't had their gyros in a long time, but they're more expensive than they used to be. (Like literally everything else in the world.) Always good service, nice clean tables, and a magnificent charcoal smell that makes you start drooling as soon as you get in.

Well we were looking forward to trying this local joint especially with the cool sounding name. Unfortunately the name did not live up to the taste of the food. For lunch on Saturday, Mo had a cheeseburger and I did the Gyro Sandwich with the Tziki on the side. The cheeseburger patty seemed to be molded by hand so that was a nice touch but the taste was mediocre at best. I've had many a Gyro in my life and this was the middle of the road. I like my Gyros a little crispy, just a minute on the grill and this was just ok. I will say they have an extensive menu. By far the staff was nice and plentiful and did a good job of keeping the place clean but there will not be any rush to come back here.

It was incredibly crowded; it was hard to squeeze into the shop to order. But once we did, the food came out relatively quickly and we were lucky to get a table outside in the shade where it was quite pleasant. Just a block off of Michigan Avenue so easy to get to. Would definitely return the next time I'm in town and would recommend to others.

It has that classic late night comfort food vibe and feels like one of those staple spots you have to try at least once. First night I ordered a polish hot dog with everything on it and a fish sandwich w/ extra grilled onions. Super cool that your order comes with fries and I added a cheese cup both times. In my opinion the fries were mid the first go around, but second time they were better. Definitely tasted better dipped in cheese. They were kinda airy in texture, if that makes sense. Polish hot dog was around a 6.5-7/10 for me. It did taste better warmed up the next day. What I was most obsessed with was the double cheeseburger and fish sandwich! both were easily a 10/10. Super good prices and worth the money. Also, the chile peppers were sooo bomb and hotter than I expected ! I wanted to eat them all, but they were packing some serious heat! The lemon Italian ice is where it's at, make sure to order one! You can also mix it with strawberry, but both times people recommended the lemon and now I see why. The line gets super active and busy past 10-11pm, but during the daytime it's way less crowded. Even when it gets packed the line moves pretty quick. We were eating in our rental car in apx 10 min. It was cool to eat outside on a warm July night in a classic, 1950s style drive-in. The food was excellent, flavorful and fresh.
