Someone recommended this place so I ordered on Toast and it was ready in 9 minutes. The burgers were fresh and I love a good smash burger and am super picky about it. Potato rolls were perfectly soft and patties were flavorful. The fries were a bit soggy but with cheese and sauce, what can you expect? My first ever chopped cheese was not in a bodega in NYC, instead it was at Burger Bodega in Midtown Houston! The chopped cheese was very savory, stuffed to the brim and definitely an experience. The meat was chopped so well that it blended with the cheese and sauce perfectly. The fries were very crispy but I think adding the chopped meat to them made it a bit redundant since I had also ordered the sandwich. Felt like I was eating the same thing essentially since the flavors were practically identical. That's on me for ordering 2 overly similar items. Had their smash burger on my 2nd visit and it was fine, maybe I'm just spoiled from a few elite smashed burgers I've had in LA and NYC. Their marketing and social media game is on point though, went another time after I saw they had limited edition chopped cheese tacos and they were also pretty good but nothing crazy. Hoping to try their samosas one of these days. Overall this is a cool spot that fits perfectly in the Midtown area and it's a spot I'd go to again if I was taking someone new but it didn't "wow" me. Burger was great. I loved the crispy edges of the smashed burger. Potato bun, sauce and chopped onions made it even more delicious. Split a side of Screwed Fries, yum! I've been wanting to try out this place after seeing lines wrapped around the corner months ago. Now that Trill Burgers have opened, I think the buzz of this place slightly dampened but it's still a great place to have great burgers and fries. You order at the counter, I got a double smashed burger and shared some screwed fries. Unsweet tea was my beverage. They don't have lots of seating but there is diner counter style seating and a rooftop if you'd like to sit there. The service was great, polite, inside was clean. The parking lot was a but small but there was also street parking available. I really enjoyed my burger it was seasoned but not too salty. Shake Shack has more salt on their burgers. Their sauce compliments the burger well and it came out piping hot. Fries were good, I liked the caramelized onions and sauce. They were cranking out the burgers as they were being ordered. Went here Saturday for lunch. While it was busy the service was fast and friendly! We did manage to get a table inside, which was awesome as it was extremely hot and humid outside. Food was excellent and I'd definitely go back. Burgers and fries were both crispy despite having sauce on them, which is amazing. Only slight downside overall was parking availability but we got lucky there with a closed medical office across the street where we ended up parking, but just be aware of where you park to avoid any issues. read more

Social media works wonders. This place has been all over my Instagram feed so I just had to visit with one of my good friends who is always down to try new restaurants. First off, luckily this place has their own dedicated parking lot, it's small but my friend and I were able to both find a spot in it. Mostly lunch folk so it does cycle through quickly. Once inside the menu is pretty simple. I got the double double and my friend had the spicy chopped sandwich. The double double was ok, smashed burger but the flavors were nothing that stood out. The chopped sandwich was a bit more flavorful, the peppers really gave it a nice kick. We also shared a chopped fries. It was ok, just wasn't amazing. Overall, it was just average, if it was less expensive the rating would be higher but at this price point I was expecting more. It was $40 for two people. I think Burger Chan was a better for the same price point and style. I haven't tried Trill but my companion said he felt Trill was better for the same price point as well. read more

As being a Cali boy, I can't compare this establishment to in and out. The burger joint is definitely something I would take into consideration if I was missing a good burger. I avoided going in with high expectations for the chop cheese bc I kinda already knew it wasn't gonna be like NYC but even so it was pretty disappointing. The biggest issue is the bread. It's too soft. Chop cheeses in NYC are on a roll or hero bread and they're both kinda hard so the sandwich doesn't get soggy quick. Whatever kind of bread Burger Bodega uses basically disintegrated fast. I'm big on texture so I wasn't happy. The taste itself was okay but a little on the salty side. The tomatoes were pale and not fresh. I wouldn't get a chop cheese here again. I'm willing to wait until I'm home for the holidays The fries were very good. Unfortunately, I love trill burgers so although this was great it was difficult not to compare the two. This establishment definitely has a better price point though. What I keep having dreams about now is the chopped cheese, spicy, with habanero. This last time made me cry...but it was delicious. I don't think I can go back to the smashburger. Finally got to try this place and see what the hype was all about. They have a tiny parking lot and lots of towing signs everywhere else I saw to park around. We got lucky and snagged a spot as someone was leaving. Came during lunch time and there was about 5 people standing outside in line. The place is really small and can only accommodate for about 4-5 people to be in line inside at a time. It is Houston summer so making that line in my work blazer was ROUGH. They do their best to keep the line moving though! We wanted to eat inside but it was packed and there was nowhere to sit so we got it to go. I ordered the single smash burger with a side of screwed fries. I loved the burger! It was seasoned really well and I loved the taste of the sauce. It needed 0 extra condiments. The fries we ok. Because we got it to go and they come drenched in sauce, they were very soggy by the time I got to eat them. I am sure they are better fresh. I was pretty excited for the chopped cheese in this place after trying out chopped cheese in New York. This was good but doesn't hit quite the same. The star of the show, of course is the chopped cheese, which is pretty much a Big Mac in a sandwich form. I also got a milkshake which was pretty good, and very filling. I got the mango and that was creamy and delicious. Fun fact- they have an off the menu grilled cheese that you can order, especially if you have some picky eaters in your group. The seating is limited inside, but they have seating available outside as well. There's a small parking lot but it can fill up pretty quickly, so I would suggest going during an off season to guarantee parking. read more

Drove to this place from cypress and it did not disappoint. The entire staff was very welcoming, they ran up and grabbed a high chair for us right away. The burgers are really good, GET THE DOUBLE, they're very thin so don't worry about over eating. The place was packed but moving pretty quickly. Really cool decor with all the stuff on the walls rebranded to go with the stores theme. Also go the screwed fries, they were smothered in grilled onions, wasn't expecting that but with their bodega sauce they were really good! So y'all, I've finally made it over to burger bodega and let me say they did not disappoint! The line wasn't too bad maybe five people outside but it moved really quick and the reason there is a line is because the place is relatively small inside so not much room for a line when I walk in. Price is a little on the higher end but at this point I feel like everywhere is and I really don't mind so much if the food is good, and here it is! I had the double original which comes with bodega sauce, cheese, grilled onions, homemade pickles and a soft bun. The burgers are the thin smash burgers so getting a double is a must for me. The burger is a 5/5 .. I also got the trill French fries but let me be honest, I removed everything but the cheese and these were also a hit! Parking lot is super compact, and If u don't grab a table inside u can walk upstairs to the outside patio to eat. For two we spent about $37 . I will be back .. good job Bodega Burger! read more

First time trying this place - I came in on a weekday during lunch and there were plenty of parking spots and the inside only had a few other tables occupied. The ambiance was fun and the service was top notch. They were having some issues with their fountain drinks which was realized after I paid for my order but they handed out canned soda to myself and others to make up for it. They also gave me extra bodega sauce on the side when I told them how much I liked it. I ordered a double and a side of fries. Everything tasted great. I first tried the smashed burger and it is burger to perfection. The buns are soft and smashed patty has a slight crunch and is LOADED with flavor of garlic and onion. While it sucks that majority of toppings costs extra, even in its base state, the burger is a must try! The spicy chopped cheese in comparison feels more balanced since it has lettuce and tomato, but the spiciness overshadows other subtle flavors in the sandwhich, which I was a little disappointed about, especially since I could taste the potential. Otherwise the fries are covered with loads of cheese and sauce and the mango lassi milkshake is a good twist on the drink that tastes a little more milky and sweet compared to most mango lassis I have had but is a good complement to the spicy chopped cheese. The staff here are super on top of cleaning after customers leave and are all overall very friendly. I think this is definitely a top contender for best burger in Houston! read more
