I don't typically leave negative reviews, but I honestly would not recommend The Burger Joint based on my experience. I'm a bit surprised by how popular it is. I ordered the BBQ burger to-go, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst burgers I've had. It lacked flavor and tasted almost like it had been reheated. The bun and overall burger were extremely soggy, so much so that it felt like it had been drenched in liquid. The vegetables were also off in texture, almost stringy, which made the whole thing even less enjoyable. The fries were just okay but leaned toward soggy and greasy as well. The chicken tenders were decent, nothing special. Service was fine, but it does get very busy, and the line builds up quickly. On a positive note, the milkshake was definitely the highlight. It was thick and flavorful, honestly the best part of the meal. The ambiance is also nice, especially for a late-night spot. I'm giving 2 stars mainly because of the milkshake. Everything else was pretty disappointing. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but based on this visit, I'd only come back for the shakes.

    Cooked to perfection.

Was looking for BBQ but all the lines were crazy long. At the stop light made a spontaneous burger decision. The Burger joint was a great choice. I had a bacon burger with pepper jack, arugula, jalapeños, and special sauce. It was fantastic. The onion rings and the sweet potato fries were also great and cooked a perfect perfection. The beer selection was spot on. couldn't ask for a better burger joint.

Out of all the Burger Joints in Houston, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this place is the best both in terms of consistency and atmosphere. Workers there are always exceptionally nice, I have yet to have any issues with any of my orders, and in always left content with my food. My only gripe is the same gripe I have with other locations though, and it's that the vegetarian patty leaves a lot to be desired. I do think their impossible party is solid, but at a $5 surcharge it's hard for me to rationalize paying for it.

I really enjoy Burger Joint, but I was super disappointed with my recent Nashville chicken sandwich. While I absolutely loved the crunch, it was overly salty. So much so, that I just tasted salt & no heat. If you have a salt sensitivity, I definitely would avoid. I probably should have asked a manager if all of that salt was in the seasoning or if perhaps they salt afterwards & someone went overboard. Had it been the latter, they probably would have made me another one. They have excellent customer service. I'm sure that my sandwich had more than a day's suggested sodium intake if that's an issue for you.

I love that between both Burger Joint's there is consistency in taste, so I can go to the Montrose Location or the Heights Location and know I'll have my craving fulfilled. I also love that I can recommend them to friends and I'll know that due to the consistent taste- they'll be in for a good time. This location has plenty of parking- woohoo- and really nice servers/order takers! Seriously the guy taking our order was so incredibly helpful and ensured that even though I was making a lot of substitutions, he got them right and even reassured me that he himself is that picky, haha! It's just nice to be seen and not get an eye roll, but I like what I like! Also the service is quick but never at the expense of fresh food. Plenty of seating indoors and out, and great food and folks! What more could one want.

Came here for lunch and had a great meal. The staff was super friendly and were able to tell me about modifications they can make to burgers for dietary needs. I was excited to find out that they had gluten free buns! I ordered the Kimchi burger with sweet potato fries and got a beef patty for my little one. We did wait a little for our food but it was worth the wait. The kimchi burger was the best mix of savory, sweet, sour and umami flavors. They have fantastic sweet potato fries and we enjoyed their different ketchups. They have great options for indoor and outdoor seating and lots of TVs around so you can catch the game. They do have a full bar and specialty drinks so I cant wait to come try more of the menus. Parking may be a little tricky but you can park in the lot across the street.

It's my first time here I came for a togo order and the cashier girl (Lesly) that took my order was rude and had an attitude problem. First i stood there for awhile waiting for someone to take my order and she saw me and continued to clean, then finally takes my order with such an attitude i was tryna figure out what i did wrong. I even said Thank you after i ordered and she didn't say anything just made a face....Probably not coming back

Pretty good location for a quick meeting with my friend. He recommended The Burger Joint in the Heights neighborhood. This was my first time here. There were many good things about this place. It shares a parking lot with The Taco Stand and The Pizza Place (coming soon). Today was a rainy day. There were many puddles in the lot, including the ramp to get here. The ordering counter is located deep in the restaurant and outdoor seating area is wrapped around the indoor space. Because of rain, the actual outdoor seating became limited. But we still found a comfortable seat. The service was decent. Since I don't eat meat and cheese, my choice is limited to veggie burger. My friend had a fire burger. The cashier recommended fire with plant-based patty. I was against that idea because that would send me to the emergency room with the heat. Hahaha I also ordered an order of Queso Fries with cheese sauce on the side. I love the freshly cut fries taste. Overall, we had a good experience.

Stopped in for a quick burger this evening since it was cool evening in Houston. Sat at the bar. Quick and attentive service. The bartender actually was polite and told his opinion which I great appreciated. I got the Opa burger medium which was great. The feel was causal and simple. Just like a burger joint should be. Overall honestly the kids cheeseburger and fries is plenty for even an adult.

I really wanted to give this place 4 or 5 stars but after eating there I just couldn't. First of all the vibes are perfect. I love the atmosphere of this place. The music was on point and created a nice, enjoyable, and fun background for our dinner. The staff was very nice, helpful and attentive. The food... the burger was cooked a perfect medium. The burger was constructed nicely, buns were good, nice ratio of meat to bun to toppings etc BUT they had ZERO seasoning. It was the most boring and bland burger I've ever had. The only flavor was from the onions. It was disappointing because I really like the vibes and would absolutely come back. I'm hoping it was an off night. I would be open to coming back again though.

Big shout out to Will the bartender. He did such an incredible job, he made like 50 milkshakes and was still making the drinks at the bar. I love the burgers here, when I want a home cooked style burger I come here. The cooks really give it up so please bless their pockets !! It's has indoor and outdoor seating, very spacious, it was busy but that really didn't matter because they were quick with the food.

    Mushroom burger double patty
    Henry B.

Came in on a Friday afternoon at 3, surprisingly busy Dress code: very casual Food 5/5: ordered their mushroom burger and added a patty and had some of their fries. Burger was amazing, highly recommend the Gouda cheese added to the burger even if you don't get the mushroom burger. Fries were pretty mid but pretty large quantity Ambiance 4/5: casual bar ambiance, most of the seated area is like a covered patio. Clean but nothing that wowed Service 4/5: counter service ordering, staff pretty good about clearing food away but everything else is counter service Value 5/5: 8$ for a massive burger is a pretty good deal for their classic burger. Overal 4.7/5: highly weighed the food and value given my expectations of the place. Fantastic burger, will definitely be back for more Parking: parking lot shared with the taco stand, quite crowded

I decided to give the burger joint another try because my last bad review the manager reached out to me this time. It was even worse. I flexitarian partner cheeseburger had no cheeseburger my vegan burger. Had mayonnaise on it. Daughter was totally screwed up. My dog seems to enjoy the vegan burger, but that's really not the point they can't seem to get this right there's over 3000 restaurants in the city. This is not one I would recommend for anyone carnivore or not. They can't seem to put cheese on a cheeseburger VEGAN they put mayonnaise on a vegan burger not good.

Ask the Community - The Burger Joint - Heights

    Where is parking?

There is a ton of parking. They have a lot that they share with the Taco Stand, which they own. Plus, they have more parking on a vacant lot right next to their lot.

Do the ask for ID to eat something?

    No they don't

Saw a picture of a dog on ig at the burger joint I'm guessing it's pets allowed!?

Yes pets are allowed on the outside patio.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. To start off with a positive, I thought the falafel patty had a really great taste and was absolutely the highlight of the burger. But outside of that the burger and the toppings I ordered just didn't work as well as I would've liked. I ordered my burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions, both toppings I know I absolutely love from making burgers at home and from other spots, but neither added much. At first I was worried that the falafel was overpowering them both but upon eating them by themselves they just lacked taste. We also got the scallion aioli on the burger and I never got a hint of it at any point. All in all, the burger was very much mediocre outside of the patty. We also got fries with the burger and while they absolutely had some potential they were extremely over seasoned. Any appreciation for the seasonings in a vacuum was immediately overshadowed by how salty they were. We also ordered the Sambal Mayo as a dipping sauce and while it did help subdue the insane salt level and overall tasted quite good, upon writing this review I found out by looking at their online menu that it contained some amount of shrimp. This information is nowhere to be seen on the ordering slip and wasn't mentioned when I handed it over to the person working at the cash register. And while I definitely accept some level of responsibility for not doing my due diligence and asking or letting them know of my dietary restrictions, it's still an extremely frustrating thing to have happen as both a vegetarian and someone with a mild shellfish allergy. If for whatever reason the online menu is out of date or I missed an obvious indication of it containing shrimp somewhere I am more than happy to edit my review.

The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. Love seeing the lunch rush though because you know it's gonna be good. Ambiance wise, this place is very chill. No indoor area, just order at the counter, get 1 of their outdoor patio tables or take it to go. There was a line to order, but service was very fast. Just happened to get there at the right time there was nobody waiting and as soon as I placed my order and grabbed a seat, I turned around, and there was a line of approximately 20 people waiting to order. The seating is all alfresco. I ordered a steak sandwich with fries and a drink. The fried steak was tender and moist and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was friendly and helpful, answered all questions.
