Burger Boss offers burgers (beef, chicken, turkey, or black bean), fries, and craft sodas. The best part of their beef burgers are that they are grass fed and halal! The "Boss" in the name refers to the fact that you can customize the burger and/or fries to your liking adding a variety of ingredients (not all our complimentary). I went with a burger, sweet potato fries and a drink. Burger Combo ($17.25) - A basic burger (1/3 lb) costs $7.50 and comes with a choice of one's bread, I went with a Kaiser bun. The bun does a great job of holding everything together and is nice and soft. I added grilled onions, avocado ($1.50), turkey bacon ($1.50), grilled mushrooms ($.75), lettuce, Swiss cheese ($1). With all the toppings my burger became $12.25 and then $5 for sweet potato fries and a soda. While I greatly appreciate the usage of quality ingredients, I feel that the burger is too pricey. Unfortunately the burger was cooked medium well so it wasn't very juicy. I prefer that a burger is cooked medium rare or worst case medium. The sweet potato fries were great and went well with some garlic mayo sauce. They offer regular fountain soda options as well as Blue Sky craft soda. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of ingredients, especially the grass fed halal beef! Unfortunately the burger was overcooked and with all the extra add ons it became pricey. I wish they offered some pre-designed burgers like a turkey bacon burger, or a California burger and maybe charge an extra $1 or $2 for that. $5 for the combo option is too much, in my opinion $3 would be a fair price. read more

Building your own burger is a cool idea. And I love that they make patties with grass-fed beef here! We visited a few months ago a little before closing time, and it was not busy. We ordered for ourselves at a touch-screen kiosk. There were a ton of options, and it took a while for us to craft our burgers. We also got sweet potato waffle fries and a variety of condiments on the side. Customizations add up cost-wise if you order multiple sauces or increased servings of toppings. This is understandable. However, after oogling both burgers when they arrived at the table, I wished they had more generous portions of mushrooms and tomatoes. The burgers were juicy and filling. The plump yet crispy fries went fast, too. We didn't finish all of our sauces but didn't want to trash them, so we got lids from the staff. After attending a Yelp "event" here I returned a few days later for lunch. You can either order at a kiosk or, as I did, go to the counter and verbally build your burger. I mulled over the various options. Luckily no one was behind me because I would have been THAT annoying person - it took me a minute to decide. Choose your protein, bun, cheese, sauces, and toppings. I chose a beef patty on a white bun with mustard, ketchup, and mayo along with provolone cheese, tomato, and pickles. I also got fries and a drink (they have a soda machine and iced teas). Within a couple minutes my order was ready at the counter for me to pick up. The grass fed beef patty was medium-well but while it lacked juiciness it still had great flavor. The various toppings were all fresh and made for a tasty burger. The bun wasn't overly thick and kept the whole thing together to the last bite. The serving of fries was plentiful, hot, and delicious. Staff here were very friendly and seemed to take excellent customer service seriously. They have vegan options as well but with meat this good, you've got to try it! The food was all amazing! This was my first time at Burger Boss and I'm glad to say I had a great experience! Ordering was super easy and fast. There was ample seating and TVs on the wall. I would usually choose one of those but as a first-timer I had to try an actual burger! I got a 1/3 lb grass-fed beef patty on a wheat grain bun, with dolce provolone, garlic herb mayo, spicy dijon, extra lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions. Everything tasted fresh! I've never had grass-fed beef before (oops), and it honestly tastes better. Not as heavy and packed full of umami. The patty was tender and NOT dry, yes! The dijon was strong so if you're not a mustard fan like me be careful haha. The bun was big and fluffy which pleased me until it started crumbling near the end. The meal also came with fries and a large drink. I was pleasantly surprised by the fries! They were medium thickness, very crispy on the outside, and maintained softness of the potato on the inside. Even when they were getting cold, they were still crispy! Not soggy like when McDonald's fries sit out too long. Overall, delicious food and good service. The food and atmosphere are fine. The manager is the laziest worker in the store. Customers come in and have the option of using a kiosk to order or come to the counter. I've come in the store a couple times now, and each time, instead of helping the busy crowd, the manager stands there talking to his friends. He doesn't offer to help the customers or staff in any way. I approached the counter for service, while he was chatting away behind the counter with his friends and I never ended up getting service after 10 minutes on my lunch break, forcing me to waut and use the kiosk. The food, ambiance, and customer service has always been consistently amazing. My husband, daughter, and I frequently come here and they have always been so incredibly sweet towards my daughter. I think the word that encapsulates the food here is: freshness. Each bite was like that great feeling after eating a fresh salad. I got the chicken with aged swiss on a kaiser roll. This was a piece of grilled chicken breast and I topped it with typical burger things (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc). When that juicy chicken paired with the salt of the Swiss cheese on a lightly toasted kaiser roll, I was in heaven. However, if you come here, I'd have to recommend the beef. My friend ordered the beef and it was delicious. It was tender, juicy, flavorful, and it had that extra bit of oomph that I couldn't identify. I've had delicious burgers at gastro pubs where I feel terrible afterwards, but these burgers make me feel good (and full). My biggest gripe with this place is the grilled onion comes with black pepper, which I didn't like. The fries are also pretty forgettable. It's like thick, floppy In-N-Out fries topped with nacho cheese and grilled onions. It was alright, but I would have preferred eating the burger and leaving it at that. I'd say come here for the burgers. This place is reasonably affordable and uses great ingredients that gives you the feeling of freshness, which you can't find at other similar burger joints. Came here on a whim for hunger while driving through Irvine/Tustin after an appointment. Wandering Yelp, found this gem of a franchise. Parking was a little tight on a Friday night, but we didn't mind further parking and walking since we knew we were about to be "eating out" in our food choice. Once we made it in we looked around, only a few other people there, no long line wait, and some lit up signs to take your order. It was user friendly, however I wish the vegan cheese option said vegan so we could be sure instead of having to check with employees(they were super nice and even gave us a allergy booklet) also we mentioned the check in to them and they took care of us. The options were insane, I mean, anything hungry people healthy people, or any people would want. I loved the mushrooms, the egg, the avocado, the gluten free bun!!!! The vegan cheese!!! But most of all the quality of beef. They also have vegan patties for those who may want. This place has options, I mean, options. They thought of every allergy, I'm so happy we stopped here, but sad we live far lol! The only criticism I would give on the food is the sauces, there should be a vegan ranch. Too many dairy options, even with an upcharge id pay because it would be worth it with my sweet potatoes, or maybe show ingredients on the sauces. The drink selection was nice, they had actual real sugar soda that was delicious, they also had iced tea. The service was great, it was pretty quick, with a gorgeous presentation. On the way to carrying our food to the table the egg accidentally fell off the platter with the mushrooms beneath it, and they gladly made another egg to replace it, we helped clean but they insisted on helping. The staff was beyond amazing at this location. First time I drove to the area and I found Burger Boss. I had to choose between that and some sandwich place near by. I liked the concept. I must have come at a slow time because it was me and a couple sitting in there. But overall nice atmosphere and football playing on the tv. The food was good. I'm not saying it was out of this world but it wasn't bad either. I think it sustained me and it's worth trying again. But maybe my food tasted ok because the service wasn't great. The service was lacking and that's why I gave it 4 stars. I'm pretty simple person when it comes to service. But I asked a question about the food and was ignored like he didn't hear me. Then I made the customization no onions on the burger and the chef seemed to not be happy if I allowed onions on my fries. I asked for light onions but there was a lot. The guy brought it to my table which was very nice, but he didn't say anything and when I asked him about napkins and water cup he just walked away. So I got up and found it myself. So all in all I liked the place but service wasn't the best. I see the owner comments on the posts. Mr Owner, You have a great place and I'm not dissatisfied with my experience my only problem was the service. And I know it's hard to find quality workers plus finding customer service anymore. Today, we had a fantastic experience at our neighborhood's Burger Boss (Tustin). We went in pretty late (9:40pm) and ordered 3 burgers. The customer service that we got from Jonathan, Anthony and Paloma was top notch. I had one patty, American cheese, spinach, over medium egg, tomato, on a white brioche bun. Sauces on my burger were ketchup, garlic Mayo, and chipotle Mayo. With a side of fries and drink. My mom got a burger with a wheat bun, my dad a burger a top a salad and I a double lettuce wrapped burger all burgers were cooked to perfection and had our appropriate toppings on it. Food was as expected. Missed a couple of the "add ins" but rectified that immediately. But the fact they also offer a chicken sandwich and a vegetarian option too. That improves the rating from a 3 to a 4. Ambiance is not existent- really none expected though. (A fast food location in a strip mall is not going to be able to have much ambience). They do have a couple televisions turned to sports channels, but could not put in the Bally or Sportsnet channels for baseball, as the "are. It allowed to tune in those channels". Up charge from fries to onion strings is understandable but then to also charge extra for sauce that isn't ketchup was a little disappointing. Had an unpleasant trip to the bathroom later. Turkey Burger ($7.25) // The turkey patty was not the juiciest I've had, but it was not dry and had plenty of flavor! The burger was not greasy and tasted delicious! Double Beef Burger ($9.50) // Just like the Lazy Boss, you can clearly taste that it's natural beef. While delicious, double beef was a lot and we ended up having a lot of leftovers. For a standard meal, I'd recommend just going with a single patty. Sweet Potato Fries ($4) // These are some of the best waffle fries I've ever had, and I am not a huge fan of waffle fries. Stopped by this place the other day for lunch and I can honestly say, this is going to me my new go to burger spot! I loved how their beef is grassfed and the burger was not greasy at all. When you walk in, there are monitor screens with a paying pad so I assume you order there. I re-confirmed with the cashier and she said you can DIY your order at the kiosk or at the cashier. There are different types of buns, cheese, meat, sauce, toppings, etc. In the end, you can opt to make it a meal with fries and a drink. After, you get your receipt, choose a seat and they will call your number up to get your food. Honestly, you probably don't even need workers other than the cook. I basically ordered my whole meal without any human interaction. I threw away my own tray and walked out so no busser came to pick up my food. The food itself was alright. The bun was very thick and dense and the parts that were touching the sauce was now soggy. The sauce was dripping everywhere! A very messy burger! The patty tasted like frozen patties and not well seasoned. The fries are criss cross fries....not my favorite. And the coca cola was watered down. Lastly, the price was quite expensive. For a burger, fries, and a drink was a total of around $15! That's like restaurant price....but this is a self order/self serve kind of place. Really wanted to try this place so ordered a huge meal for the family 4 burgers fries etc on the official burger boss app, we each spent a lot of time customizing their burgers and when I clicked checkout for $59.40 the app gave an error message "something went wrong..." and wouldn't work. I called the store to check if they're open or if the app not working but they weren't helpful. I asked if I could order over the phone and was initially told no. I asked again to clarify and he said "you'd still have to come in" which makes no sense did he think I wanted the burgers transmitted though the phone? I was given a bogo offer to return tonight and was very pleased with the service received, the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the place on both subsequent visits. My entire family was in agreement that the burger quality here is superb. It's a good size and very juicy. Our food was served within five minutes and was hot. The single burger patty (5 ounces) was huge and more than enough. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfectly prepared - which is not an easy task. When we asked for additional sauces, they immediately and with a smile brought them out to us. They have a very nice outdoor patio area where you can eat outside safely. All tables are socially distanced and thoroughly cleaned in between patrons. We highly recommend this restaurant! I would like to add that the chef came out and greeted us at the end of our meal to make sure that we enjoyed everything and that we were happy with our food...
