He asked the staff if he could get new ones, and they complied. The new batch was much better. Kudos to the staff for willing to fix the issue. The "trespassers" the restaurant called about turned out to be the sick girl and her friend, both paying customers who had been quiet and respectful the entire evening. What was really upsetting was how rude and cold the staff seemed toward them. Calling the police on someone who was clearly unwell instead of showing even a little compassion was honestly disgusting to watch. It also did not go unnoticed that they were the only other women of color there besides myself, which made the situation feel even more tactless and uncomfortable. Really disappointing experience overall, and I hope they choose to handle situations like this with more empathy in the future.
