Man this was a bummer with one shining exception- the gnocchi. Oh my gosh the gnocchi. It was so flavorful and delicious- fat, acid, salt, heat- it had it all- perfection in a bowl. Then there was a really nice and helpful server, and the decor was very hip and modern and cool. But unfortunately, this is where the good notes stop. The coach Goni pizza was bland and the buttermilk ranch was anything but. It tasted like watered down cream- no ranch flavor. The potatoes had no real flavor either- they tasted just like cooked potatoes- no seasoning, nothing special. Our kids were with us and they also liked none of it, so then we had cranky kids on top of not great food. But the worst, by far, was the shaved Brussel sprouts salad. It was so so so bad. It tasted like raw shaved Brussel sprouts tossed with maybe a sprinkle of lemon juice and topped with a little bit of Parmesan cheese. It was incredibly bitter and dry and it was so bad. We ate some because we paid for it and because it was "healthy" but we couldn't stomach much. We asked for balsamic, ranch, anything we could to help make it palatable. And to wash it down, well, they had warm water. I know this is authentic to Europe to not use ice but we're not in Europe. We need ice! They brought some upon request but it took some time to get. I would not go back but that gnocchi could convince me otherwise- it was so so good!!

Love the ambiance of this place. We took the patio seating and it was perfect on a hot summer day. The servers are attentive and they take care of you. We tried their fried potatoes, hot wings and goomba pizza. The portion size for the fried potatoes was big but the food itself was not quite upto expectations. The hot wings was delicious with the variety of dipping sauce. We loved the goomba pizza, minimum ingredients but wonderful taste with everything coming together.

You can't spell "ok" without Oak. First, I was seated in a corner of a wall, in an uncomfortable hot room, just two small pizzas away from loud, coughing children and their oblivious parents. Considering the other two tables had unnecessarily loud kids and clueless parents, and bad echoing acoustics of the room, it felt more like a Chuck E. Cheese. Whether it's the 6:00 hour or the ineffective Los Gatos parents, I'm not sure. If I went back I'd have to insist on sitting at the bar, in the patio, or after a minor lobotomy. After enjoying some refreshingly warm, room temperature water and a $4 can of Diet Coke, we had a soft pretzel, that was too soft. Like "did the oven break?" soft. Like right after a cold shower soft. Then we had some arancini. They were so flavorless we had to ask for salt and pepper here. Salt salt salt salt salt and pepper here. The lemony fried potatoes with black pepper and dill (and a watery ranch they call smoked creme fraiche) were awesome. Someone who loves food and people created that recipe. I don't think they work there anymore. If they do, I hope they don't get fired for secretly making something tasty behind the executive chef's back. After the potatoes I was thinking "now they're cookin' with gas" but the barely cooked pizzas came out and then I thought maybe they're cookin' with lighters. The margarita pizza is named that because you will need to down two margaritas after wasting your money on bland, flimsy, truly disappointing sauce-dough. The Jack Burton pizza with arugula was fine. But if you don't know underdressed salad and undercooked pizza, you don't know Jack. At least service is good and fast and the toilet faces an 80s TV playing videos. The TV had a big number three on it, which is weird, but thank God it wasn't a number two.

I came here to use my resy credit through Amex and didn't exactly love the experience. While it wasn't horrible, it also wasn't the best. We got a few drinks, their best selling apps and their pasta to share. The drinks were decent, but transparently I was most disappointed by their lack of flavor within their food and their service. There have been several reviews commenting on the service before, I was hoping it had changed since it had been some time, but unfortunately it hasn't. I don't think I'd come back. Was quite sad because of all the great reviews. Hopefully it was just a one off

My husband and I came for a dinner reservation at 5 PM on a Monday night and I was shocked to see that there was already a line outside before they had even opened. We were the only party there that had reservations and got to sit in the "upstairs" dining room but was on the edge and my poor husband had to sit right next to the stairs where everyone would be able to see him from the entry way. There's outdoor seating available and it looked like a fair amount of groups had opted for that based off of the fact that nearly all the outside tables were taken when we left (calling this out b/c it was 45 degrees out and heat lamps only provide so much warmth). I do like the fact that their pizzas are light and that they actually slice the pieces well to make it easy to tear. I kind of just wished they would leave the condiments on the table rather than you needing to ask for them. We ordered: Pretzel: 2/5, it was a bit thin and too soft for my liking but the beer cheese was good Shaved brussels sprouts: 3/5, interesting flavor but personally I thought it was too much cheese because I wasn't able to taste any of the lemon vinaigrette The Jerk: 4/5, good flavor and unique Truffle Shuffle: 2/5, I was so sad because this is the one I was looking forward to the most. It smelled amazing but tasted like nothing ~~Parking: The restaurant is located in the Los Gatos downtown area so there's an okay amount of street parking and there's a few public parking lots available as well. Parking can be difficult depending on the time you come. ~~Service: Good. I'm not one who likes dark dining and asked to have the lights turned on b/c they were just off with only a candle for light. Towards the end of our meal the overhead lightbulbs seemed to be finicky and kept turning off and on. I noticed the table that was next to us was asked if they wanted anything with their pizza upon delivery but we had to ask for crushed red peppers. ~~Return: Possibly, to try other items on the menu.

If I could give Oak & Rye extra stars for vibes alone, I would. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Los Gatos. The interior has that old world, warm, slightly rustic feel that immediately makes you want to settle in. Add genuinely great customer service and a prime location and it already feels like home before the food even hits the table. Now the food. I am a huge soft pretzel fan and that is what brought me here in the first place. The pretzel absolutely delivers. Crispy on the bottom, chewy inside, almost reminds me of Korean salt bread. It is dangerously good. If I am being picky, and I am, it could use just a touch more butter to be perfect, but I still think about it regularly. The pizza is where things get serious. The pizza with their hot chili and honey is unreal. It honestly reminded me of Pizza 4P's in Asia, which is a very high bar. I am officially an elitist when it comes to pizza now and I am not sorry about it. The crust, the balance, the flavor, it is all there. Fantastic is not an exaggeration. My only wish is that they leaned even harder into creative cheese options. I would love to see a five cheese situation with brie, camembert, truffle oil, or even a charcuterie option for apps. Putting that out into the universe. The tap beer was excellent and the recommendation from our waiter was spot on. Love when the staff actually knows what they are talking about. This place is especially lovely on weekends but do yourself a favor and reserve on Resy because everyone else has figured it out too. Oak and Rye just gets it.

Dont understand the bad ratings! We went on Monday evening and it was hopping almost to full capacity. Husband and I ordered cocktails and 2 pizzas-the margarita and the goomba. Loved the charred edges on the crust and the pizza was amazing! Best eaten hot. Cocktails were good too though on the smaller side. Service was friendly and we will definitely go back! Total was $100 with tax and tip for 2 codktails and 2 pizzas.

We came here on a Wednesday night at 5pm with reservations. No issues getting in. Getting a table. Started with the mushrooms, unique flavorful and amazing. Then we went to risotto balls which were perfect in texture with crunch and softness with a ripe tomato sauce that was so subtle but nice. Then we went to the Scotty to hotty. Was delightful. Service was attentive and timely. I will be back.

Picked up a couple of pizzas from Oak & Rye for a nice afternoon picnic at the Vasona Lake Park this weekend. My friends also joined and ordered their pizzas and a couple of the Brussels Sprouts Salad. Everyone enjoyed their orders. Both the Margherita and the Konami Code pizzas that we tried were great. The pizzas were a little soft, but that's likely because we had them after almost 30-40 mins. Better soft than tough/chewy TBH. Pro-tip: get their hot chili oil - it gives just the right amount of kick to the pizzas. The service was quick, and they also gave us some plates to go when we said we were doing a picnic in the park - that was really nice of them. Looks like they have some good rye-based cocktails. I'll keep that for next time. Definitely recommend!

We went for dinner on a busy weekend. Since we had a reservation, we were seated right away outside on a side patio. The seating was a bit odd since it was right by the entrance and not part of the main patio, but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Our server even changed the heater gas tank for us, which we really appreciated especially on a cold winter night! Food-wise, the roasted potatoes were pretty bland and not our favorite. The gnocchi was very flavorful, and the truffle pizza was good too. We also had some wine and a mocktail with our meal. Overall, the service was great, and I'd definitely come back again because of it.

I've started having dishes other than pizza here. Oak and Rye calls itself a pizza place but it's so much more. Elevated dishes reflect fine dining in a casual place with an energizing vibe. Yesterday was ramen day (yes, ramen, with a tonkatsu broth that honored the pork. I also had the gnocchi with jerk chicken, a staff favorite that is now a favorite of mine, too. Stellar service from genuinely happy people. And did I mention the food? And, yes, I still think the pizza is the best in the Bay Area.

The wife wanted to hang out in Los Gatos last Sunday so we walked around for a while and did some window shopping. She had heard about Oak and Rye and wanted to check it out. So we killed time until they opened for dinner at 5pm. The place looked pretty small from the entrance but it looks like there are more seating areas to the left of where you enter. But we wanted to sit at the bar anyway, so that's where we went. Bar was open so we bellied up and got our menus. We weren't really ready for a full-on dinner so we ended up splitting a pizza and a salad. This ended up being pretty much the perfect amount of food and certainly could have served as a dinner for 2 people. The Arugula salad was very good. It was well-dressed and a large size. The pizza we shared was the Scotty 2 Hottie, (throwback to the old WWF wrestling tag team). The pizza was good but not amazing. Since going to Italy last year and starting to make pizza dough and pizza at home, I guess we've kind of become pizza snobs. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good. It just didn't blow us away. But the stand out part of our experience was the bartender, Austin. He was very friendly and informative. I spoke to him about how I was recently laid off from my job and had long thought about getting into bartending. He told me how he got started. So we had a few drinks, a glass of wine with the pizza and I got an Amaro flight after dinner. Austin was very helpful with making suggestions. Overall, the experience at Oak and Rye was very good and we would certainly come back.

We dined here for the first time last night with my dad. The service was excellent. We had an estimated wait time of 30-45 min but got seated in 20 which was amazing (we arrived at 7:30pm)! The staff was great and the food came out so quick despite how busy they were. The food was alright i wouldn't say it was the best but the vibes made up for it. They have primarily vegetarian pizza options We are still happy we tried it!

I believe the happy hour menu includes selected pizzas for $10 from M-F 3-5pm :)

    Yes it is.

The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

We had a mix of dishes; Meatball side as an app, bread, Pasta Primavera, Burrata Pizza Pie, and I did a repeat of the Tagliatelle Bolognese... all delicious, especially w a bottle of cab. Energetic service from Westin, who was hustling. The busser is also alert and ready to neaten up the table. I had a bout of Peppermill envy again. Get the fresh pepper. It's worth the scene. The Pastaria is noticeably where the LG ladies seem to gather, so that is good. Haha.

That's how much beef in the plate and I can't pick up with my fork because they're so tiny it fell right off! The girl next table ordered the same thing and my reaction was "oh no...." The pasta texture was kinda hard and crumbly as if it was cooked last night half way thru and reheat in the microwave just before serving. Everything was just so wrong and I eventually had to tell the waitress to take it away and she was kind enough to not charge me for that plate. Me and my friend shared the seafood linguine with white wine sauce which turned out to be pretty good so that's the 2 stars. This is also the first time I've ever had to send a dish back to kitchen.

They have a pool table with plenty of arcade games as well. - Pizza is delicious here, especially the crust! Ordered a personal sized and a few slices (very limited selection near dinner time). Plenty of beer on tap which makes it great for beer lovers. Does not have fountain soda machine (only cans of soda and ice teas) - Service is great. Employees & Owner are very friendly and knowledgeable of the beers they have on tap. Food came out quick and they were attentive to cleaning tables Cons: - Restrooms is very much dive bar like and not so clean/small sink - A bit off the beaten path so it can be easily missed especially with Garrett Station next door - Restaurant is very dark especially at night (adds to the ambiance on the plus side) Overall, fantastic pizza that can easily be a sports bar. Would recommend and come back again.

I wanted to try something different for the second pizza. Unfortunately, the margarita pizza was very underwhelming (as you can see). It was dry and it wasn't fresh mozzarella. I couldn't really taste the basil either. It just tasted like a dry cheese pizza. I will stick to the gourmet veggie next time.
