Reminds me of a simpler time. Good burgers, not over crowded. Also has Chinese food. My burger, fries and drink were 17.99 today-2025

Their burgers are legit for this dive. Super tasty. Service a little slow but i went during lunch rush. Sicilian Burger is my favorite. Coworker said he inhaled his Aloha burger a said, "It didn't stand a chance. It was so good!" Portions are very reasonable for the price. I just deducted the star because I stood there for a good few minutes without acknowledgement.

Last time I came here was about 30 years ago. I had a craving for nostalgia, so decided to see if it is as good as I remember. When you first walk in , you might be deterred by the outdated design, kinda sketchy, and think you might get ripped off. But it was a good surprise! We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and man was it good! Not what expected. Definitely brought me back. Another good ol' Alaskan restaurant to try.

Pineapple shake is not getting enough love. People are super nice. The front desk lady gently made fun of my Texas / North Carolina accent. Like Sling Blade, I just ordered fries (besides pineapple shake), but they're real nice.

Ordered the Teriyaki Burger and it's mouth melting delicious.

It's one of those very hidden places but should check it out I ordered the Teriyaki Burger and it's become my go to favorite.

I like the kung pao chicken, it has more vegetables then chicken. The broccoli beef is ok, not bad but not something I'd order again. I watch two doordashers walk out on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm, I guess the tip wasn't enough for them to wait? I waited 15+ minutes from the time given to me, but that was ok. I am writing this review so I can remember that I have tried Burger Jim. I forget a place, if I don't like more then one dish. Maybe... I'll come back for a burger.

Wow! I have not set foot in Burger Jim's since the 1990's. Seeing this place is like going back in time.

I came down here for lunch after picking up the car for repairs to the front from a driver who backed into my car a few months back. Burger Jim's is a longtime establishment on the corner of 4th and Gambell in a sketchier part of the downtown area on the east side. There would be no reason to dine in this part of town, but since the collision center was just around the corner, this was the most convenient option. Burger Jim's bring back a lot of memories from my high school years in the mid-90's when they still had a location at the Transit Center on 6th Ave and G St. Surprisingly, the dining area at this location still looks like it's in the 90's today with its wood booths and interior design. I was greeted by the manager who seemed to be the only person in the front for the lunch rush while everyone was working in the kitchen preparing orders. I decided to order a familiar favorite that was listed as Today's Special: the Burger Jim (ham, bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, and jalapeno peppers). The special includes fries and the drink for $9.99. I took a seat at one of the window booths next to where I parked my car. I only waited for a few minutes before my order arrived. The burger was good, but not as good as some of the other burger establishments I reviewed. The bacon, cheese, mushrooms, and onions were a great complement while the ham was an unnecessary addition with little to no flavor. Fries were thick-cut which is good when it's hot off the fryer, but loses its crispiness as it cools down leaving the thin strands as the only ones with a crispy texture. The Transit Center location used to be my favorite place for a burger after class, but with the location long gone and different owners today, there are better options elsewhere.

Hey there friends! We had an amazing dinner at the Glacier Brew house. Before I start, I will say…read morethat it didn't start off on the right foot due to some issues with the people at the front reception. Besides this, everything else was great so I did not deduct any stars. Let me explain. We were a party of 4 and just arriving from NY, we were hungry. We walked in at about 4:30-4:45. We asked for a table for 4. We were told the wait will be over an hour. They asked if we would like to sit at the bar area, same food and probably would get service quicker. I said sure. We both want to look for a table and there were none, so I just told the staff that we will go to the bar area and wait while having a drink. We were given a buzzer. We came across a Maria bar table with a nice couple sitting there, and 2 open seats. I asked if we could sit there and they said of course. They then Deb moved over 2 seats arguing gave us 4 seats. I was do thankful for them being so nice that I picked up their bar tab. I noticed that the dining area has at least 5 open tables for 4 and 1 for 6+. I went up to the desk and told them this. I was told they were fit reservations and I couldn't have a table. Long story short, 45 min went guy and there were still open tables, I E's not happy and let them know. By this time though, our waiter Marco cans over to us and said he would take care of us, which he did. I told the front desk to forget our table and have them the buzzer back. ** My review starts*** Marco was a great waiter taking excellent care of us. We had a great time with Marco and our new friends next to us. I ordered the halibut stuffed with crab which was outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon which was delicious as well, I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin of the salmon, yum!!! Our friends ordered the fried calamari which he enjoyed and his wife had the salmon over a Ceaser salad. To finish it off, I had to get the lava cake for dessert.....hey, why not, I'm in vacation lol! Everything was great, the food delicious, Super Marco s the best!!! Great service and a great time. Just a shame it didn't start off on the right foot. Lesson: make a reservation!!!!!

Comfortable seating made the dining experience cozy. Service was impeccable. Our server was friendly, engaging, and attentive without being too present or hovering. She explained menu items and specials; and didn't forget a thing! Who I assume was the manager, made sure to stop by and see how we were enjoying everything - I could tell he wants to make sure all patrons were having a good experience. The food was delicious! I had the roasted chicken special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. All prepared perfect. Chicken was moist, the sauce a unique savory flavor, and asparagus just right - not too stiff, not at all mushy. Combined with a lovely view, cheap and ample parking, I'd definitely recommend trying Crimson! I believe it's locally owned and operated- and can confirm personally they support local business. Give it a shot! I plan to come back. They have after work specials I wanna check out.

The room has a high-energy, lively vibe without ever feeling overwhelmingly loud, and you can tell why the chef earned a James Beard nomination. You definitely need a reservation; they have a few walk-in spots, but they go very fast, so you will want to get there right when doors open if you do not have one booked. The beverage menu is very well done, with great cocktails and thoughtful mocktails that felt just as crafted. For food, our starters set a high bar; the pork buns, pickles, and octopus were all flavorful and well prepared. The ramen itself was delicious and hits the spot in the Alaska weather, with deep, tasty broths and bold flavors throughout. The Dark Horse was especially good. We did not have room left for dessert, but the savory side of the menu more than delivered.

We came a little after opening at 5:15 and were seated at a table immediately. Larger groups may have trouble without a reservation. Everything was phenomenal. My husband had a couple cocktails and I had a couple NA cocktails. I was really impressed with the NA cocktails -- they were complex in flavor and not overly sweet. Husband was also impressed with his drinks. For appetizers we got the pickles, pork buns and takoyaki. In my opinion the pork buns are the way to go. I also enjoyed the pickles and there were a good garnish with other dishes. For ramens we got the dark horse and Tokyo rich tsukemen. Wow wow wow, they were simply excellent. The broths had so much flavor. The tsukemen was a fun dish with having to assemble it yourself and dip food into the broth. Pork belly serving was very generous. Some of the best ramen I have ever had. If you are in anchorage you need to eat here!
