shi lowkey trash besides the fries. 10 bucks for the small whopper meal which comes with whopper obv n fries n a bev. i dont think the value is there tho tbh. bk is like bottom tier fast food burgers ngl, and it's 10 bucks for a burger and a minuscule thing of fries bruh. like burger is genuinely buns. their diet coke also didn't give the sense of battery acid. that's not what we want with soda. battery acid gives it character. you want that carbonation, but the soda here lacks that fizzy carbonation character to it. honestly though, why is it 10+ dollars for a small whopper meal now? like either our economy is in shambles or these mfs smoking something man. like i could've went to tap x down the aisle and order the #1 combo for the same price, and it would taste better by tenfold!

Located in the Student Union on the campus of University Ca of San Diego. Mobile order does work as well from the App. Overall the place is located in a nicely set up of a Student Union on campus. Side note for newbies or visitors it is a little tough to find luckily there were students around to ask.

This was my second experience with takeout in the last three months. I really like this Burger King, in UTC SD, but this visit, though a good one, was definitely a different experience. I was apprehensive about entering a commercial space with the current restrictions. At first I couldn't tell if the location was open! The plaza that hosts this restaurant was dark, all lights out, and I couldn't tell if people were inside from the West entrance. All doors were closed, as I tested them, working my way around, and finally, I saw a sign directing me to the East side of the plaza. Signage at the entrance stated the required wearing of masks and keeping a 6' distance. The inside of the building was dark and empty, with only a handful of people in the large open space. I hung back as I waited for someone to order. When it was my turn, I ordered the Impossible Whopper and an iced vanilla coffee. I find the drinks a bit pricy here compared to what I'm used to at fast food places. A small fountain drink is $2.50. Though there are a lot of coupon deals if you use the BK app. Service was very quick- it arrived within minutes. The Impossible Whopper was delicious as always. The "meat" had a char to it, making it taste real- or even better! The veggies-pickle, tomato and lettuce, with mayo, were a nice refreshing addition. The iced coffee was really good: creamy and refreshing with the perfect dose of sweet. A delicious meal, and worth the effort!

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish Steve Jobs Perhaps it was a clue it was a bit after 12pm, there are not that many food choices at UCSD, and there was nobody in line... Tried the bacon hamburger with lettuce and tomato for $1.59. First thing I noticed was how tiny it was. Next I noticed I was chewing away but I didn't taste much of anything except the starchy bun. There was a tiny piece of bacon in there but the bun beat the flavor out of it. Sadly I had an even worst burger at the company picnic as that one was burned and cold but it was free... Next I tried these new satisfries. Looked like frozen Ore-ida fries I had when I was a kid. They tasted like them too. Not bad but a bit too much salt on these fries. Steve Jobs would have been 59 today. This review is for Steve. I wish I would have followed your advice about staying hungry. I'm no longer hungry but I feel a bit dirty having eaten that bacon burger. :-( 2nd visit: I had a coupon for 10 chicken nuggets and a large fry for $3. The chicken nuggets had that gooey texture of processed meat and really minimal flavor. I tried them with the bbq sauce which tasted sickly sweet like Krafts. :-P The nuggets at McDonalds are much better. Tossed a fry in my mouth and it was like someone sprinkled salt on my tongue. I tried rubbing the salt off with my finger before eating them but I didn't do a very good job as I'm feeling kinda sick now. The fries I removed enough salt on tasted ok. Freshly fried with crunch and potato flavor. The quality control here is pretty bad. On my first visit the fries were over salted too but not this bad. :-P 9/5/2014 update: Tried the chicken fingers. I'm guessing they were sitting out too long as they were very dry. Upon inspection it was mostly batter covering gooey processed chicken much like the nuggets. Also the flavor was mostly of salt. :-P I also tried the bacon double cheeseburger which I ordered without cheese. Upon arrival there is yellow stuff on the beef patty that looks like cheese. Took me a few minutes and many napkins to remove it. I can't taste the puny bacon pieces. There is a slight beef flavor from the burger. Wish I could give zero stars to this place.

The patty was juicy and flavorful, exactly what you want from a straightforward cheeseburger. The bacon was crispy and added a great texture to every bite, while the melted cheese gave it that final push across the finish line. Sometimes a simple burger tells you everything you need to know, and this one did its job well. The miss for me was the fries. They were steak fries, which I normally enjoy, but something felt off. I can't quite put my finger on it--they weren't bad, just missing something that would have made them memorable. The total came out to $28.86 before tip. Living in California, especially in a downtown area, that's about what I'd expect these days. Not exactly cheap, but not enough to keep me from coming back. One thing I did find a little odd was the 3% service charge. I'm not knocking a star off for it, but I do wish there had been a clearer explanation of what the charge was for. Is it worth another stop? If you're in the neighborhood and there's not a long wait, I'd say absolutely. The burger alone is worth giving this place a shot.

It's always popping up as one of the best burgers in San Diego. The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.

What I ordered: * The Bonehead Burger (3/5): the burger itself was a decent size, but the BBQ sauce was a little too heavy for my taste, and the hamburger patty didn't have much seasoning. There was just a little too much going on flavor-wise, and nothing really stood out about it for me. * Fries (5/5): the fries were honestly incredible. You can order a half portion, and it's still a huge serving that's definitely shareable. The seasoning on them was great too. They also have an awesome craft beer selection on tap. Overall, I'd come back to try the smash burger or just get a side of fries and enjoy a nice craft beer.
