I was so looking forward to trying this place. We were finally able to pay them a visit while staying at the Legoland Hotel. It's quite close. I found myself disappointed. I ordered food for 5 peeps. It was expensive for some burgers and fries. That was -1 star. Next was the cashier service, she didn't crack a smile once and seemed like she was anxious to leave, -1 star. Food arrived, and I found that it lacked flavor. The only thing that had flavor was the side of BBQ sauce I asked for. My husband ordered a lamb burger which had him gushing about its greatness for days. I ordered a classic burger, and just didn't like it much, -1 that last star. Overall rating is 3 stars, for AOK. Quick stop after picking up kids or done at the beach and are ready for a burger and the couch, this place is quality. But Our favorite onion rings now tast like they are frozen out of a bag. Don't get me wrong they are still decent, but before the rings were flakey and had seasoned and even herbs in the breading and were top notch. No joke they WERE the best. Kinda expensive but the food is fresh, and the ingredients lend themselves to a more healthy burger eating experience. I had a veggie burger and like most, the patty was a bit too moist. Otherwise it was a tasty treat! Fries were good, but what really stood out to me was the service. While you do order at the counter, the service is uniquely awesome. You take this gps tracker and that's how they know where to deliver the chow. However, once delivered I was proactively asked if I would like BBQ sauce or ranch for dipping, my drink was quickly refilled. Way more service than I expected, especially since it's an order at the counter place! They have gluten free buns available and paleo friendly lettuce wrap options. So they've ticked all the boxes for picky eaters, dieters and those that have allergies. The service is a more attentive that a typical fast casual restaurant. You order up front and then take a number. They bring the food out to your table and fill your drinks for you. Quite impressed with our first visit to Burger Lounge, I've been waiting to visit for several years. We ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with jalapeno slaw and chipotle aioli, a cheeseburger and an order of half onion rings and fries. I liked the chicken sandwich over the burger, but everything tasted high-quality and fresh and they have great sauces like Ranch, organic ketchup and BBQ sauce. Service was friendly, from the gal at the cash register to the wait staff who brought the food to our table. The food was tasty, and we will definitely visit a Burger Lounge location again. Don't miss the big enough to share chocolate shake. Served in a traditional shake glass and topped with whipped cream they even include a metal container on the side with the extra Shake if you dine in. My wife and I are ALWAYS on the prowl for a great burger joint, so when we found this one on Yelp, we just had to check it out. We walked in, checked out the menu, and ordered our typical burgers - cheeseburger for the wife, bacon cheeseburger for moi. Somewhat mollified, I stuck around. Our burgers appears, and as I was about to take a bite, I noticed a suspicious red liquid under the patty. W.T.F. Took a look, and yep. KETCHUP. WHO PUTS KETCHUP ON A BURGER?!?!?!? WITHOUT TELLING THE CUSTOMER!?!?!?!? The wife was a bit cooler and calmer. She pulled up the mini-menu, and pointed out the burger I ordered clearly states that ketchup is included. Ok, great. So why isn't this is HUGE letters on the primary menu - like "DON'T ORDER THIS BURGER IF YOU TRULY LIKE BURGERS", or something like that? I sensed she didn't want me to make a scene (mainly due to the subtle death daggers coming from her eyes), so I scraped that crap off the bun, and took a bite. Ok, it's not a bad burger, now that THAT'S been fixed. BUT.....not a great burger either. We both agreed that this was Jack in the Box quality burger. Not necessarily a bad thing, other than it's well over twice the price of same. At least the fries were good. So, if you're looking for a burger, this is an ok place. I love the grass-fed, all organic places.The decor was really cool and they have a cute outdoor setting area. Always a plus. Customer service was fine, very pleasant workers, until we realized they left the bacon off my husband's burger. I think we were charged for it. By the time he realized it, As for the food, both my husband and I found the burgers flavorless. I was really surprised. The burgers are on the smaller side. The 'half and half' order (which is fries and onions rings) is 95% fries and 5% onion rings. It's a bit pricey too. Two burgers (one regular, one little), grilled cheese, and an order of 'half and half' was 27 and change- no drinks, just water. We won't be back. :( read more

Burger Lounge is cool... Just not an award winning burger or really anything special. The grounds and the building is absolutely immaculate and the service was on point! But honestly, the burger isn't really that flavorful, I recall it having more flavor a while back, but the past couple of times it has been just meh, not bad but not great. The dreaded 3.5 stars. The burgers and fries are unquestionably delicious. Hassle factor is high at this location. This was the first time I've ordered the Quinoa burger. It tasted much like the homemade veggie burgers I make at home. The patty also struggled to stay together ( much like the veggie burgers I've made at home). The Q burger was pretty good, but the regular beef burger tasted much better. The quinoa burger may be out of your comfirt zone if you're new to non-meat burgers. If that's the case, go beef! Pain Points The ordering process is very inefficient. Poor menu display/design is the prime culprit as most people can't read the menu if you're standing behind a few people in line. That forces people to read the menu at the time of ordering. Some people like myself walked up and grabbed a togo menu and read through it before ordering. There are also a lot of questions asked by the cashier when you order ( Onions? Sauce? Temperature of burger cooked?) the process seems to go slower than it should. Drink ordering also exacerbates the problem because there are several options and many require explanation (specialty teas and "healthy" sodas). Nothing is self-service here. Other pain points. - Thimble size portion of ketchup is provided with your burgers and fries. If you need more you have to hail down a staff member. - Need more napkins? Hail down a staff member. - Need a refill? Probably easier to just walk up to the counter. - The parking is horrid here. - Traffic congestion here sucks too, it's next to a Costco gas station. The Tip - Way better than PURE burger at Bressi Ranch. - The staffers on the floor are very helpful. They just can't service every table's needs all at once. read more

The staff took forever to get the meal out, but that is because they are very short staffed, the people taking the orders were also bringing the food and making the shakes. I saw the Burger Lounge lit sign while staying at the Grand Palisades Hotel. There were a just few reviews but I then looked up their other locations. Then menu and reviews sold me so I had to try it! Just my luck, they opened on January 2, 2014! I called in a togo order for the following items: -Lounge Burger with bacon -Quinoa Veggie burger on a gluten free bun -kids chicken tenders -half onion rings / half fries -root beer float The lady who answered the phone was friendly, thorough, and repeated my order to ensure accuracy. I was there 5 minutes later and my food was ready! They split the root beer float into two cups (one for the root beer and one for the Dryer's vanilla ice cream). One of the best burgers! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. It tasted great! The bacon was extra crispy too. Their veggie burger was moist and flavorful. The onion rings were delicious! Prob my favorite rings now. Bottom Line: Probably a good spot to get a burger if single-source, grass fed beef is a priority. I love an occasional hamburger with melty cheese but I have yet to acquire a taste for the burgers at Burger Lounge. I've been here a few times and each time I found my burger to be dry with little flavor. Perhaps this is just how grass fed beef tastes like and I have yet to get used to it. I piled my burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard and ketchup. I appreciated that the produce was fresh but it wasn't enough for the burger to really hit the spot. For funsies, I ordered a side of fries. I'm not really a fry person but I did like how simple and natural the hand cut fried potatoes tasted. For being fried, this fries didn't feel or tasty heavy. Perhaps that is what you get when you mix good technique with peanut oil. The décor here is fun. It's definitely retro featuring colors like avocado green and Brady Bunch orange. The seating is comfortable and there are tables both indoors and outdoors. For soft drinks, they offer Boylan's Handcrafted Soda and diet Coke. They have iced tea, beer and wine too. At lunch time this place can get really busy given there are so many business parks off of Palomar Airport Road. My most recent visit was at 8pm and it was very quiet and serene with plenty of parking. At lunch time, you may have to compete for a spot in the lot. I think next time I will skip the beef and try a different type of burger or get an organic salad. I do appreciate that they make their own dressings in house. read more

Tucked in the back of the Costco parking lot is a new mini-mall with a host of restaurants and small businesses. It sort of sprang up one day, out of the dust and weeds, taking away precious parking spaces and adding more reasons to hunt for that distant mirage of an empty spot to put your truck before starting the solemn trudge to your final destination. Seriously, Costco needs to build a parking structure. Get on that, guys... Anyway, the Burger Lounge is another spring up in the California fad of "healthy" or "organic" hamburgers. It's all the craze out here, the new thing to capitalize on the rush to purify the body and spirit by eating the ground up and grilled carcasses of butchered animals only fed grass, dandelions, and painted lady butterflies, or some shit. I don't personally buy the philosophy, but it certainly does attract quite the crowd. Still, if you're looking for a place that's a step up from Carl's Jr., this is the place to get it. Came here after a shopping trip to the aforementioned Costco (all hail the 'Co) and felt like eating out, but not going too far for a bite. The Burger Lounge was a great solution, close and hip, while sounding pretty tasty, so we gave it a try. The place itself is ugly; not prohibitively so, but the decor is extremely tacky. Imagine a 70's hipster dive draped in dull orange and chocolate brown, with rotting lime trim. The lighting reminds me of what you would see in those old Jetsons' cartoons, what people of the past thought lamps would look like in the future. Needless to say, we dined on the patio, where only the rotting lime trim motif could follow. I had Organic Quinoa Veggie Burger (yes, I did), a cacophony of ingredients smashed together into something patty-esque and held together with cheese. It was good, nice flavor that wasn't covered in salt or spice. They allowed the quinoa and carrot to come through naturally while using brown rice and corn for body and thickness. It was an impressive blend that they managed to pull off well. My love had The Classic w/Bacon, everything on the side. This had the side effect of making her hamburger seem a bit small and sad, but she still enjoyed it, commenting on the good taste and crisp to the bacon. So many places seem to just cook up a mess of it and leave it under a lamp until needed; while the bacon here had a much more 'cooked-to-order' feel. To split between all of us was a 1/2 and 1/2, their french fry and onion combo. The fries were pretty standard, but the onions rings were a trip. They kind of look like they came out of a frozen bag, but they sure didn't share that taste. Either way, they are impressively tasty and it's easy to give Burger Lounge the benefit of the doubt when they say this stuff is "fresh-cut" and "house-made." Our son had the Chicken "Digglers" Kids' Lounge Meal, which sounds a lot less appetizing then they actually are. Good flavor, felt fresh and not frozen before frying, with a great breading that didn't sway too heavily into salt town. He didn't like them all that much, but I can see how most children would appreciate them. About the only problem I had with the Dirk "Digglers" ... err, chicken ... Chicken "Digglers", was that they came impaled on sharp, long, wooden skewers that I would think most people would balk at offering to a 2 year old kid. I know this is probably the default way to serve these ... but, it would be nice if there was a warning that they may not be age appropriate, or to have them served off the dangerous spear-like object that my toddler would just love to swing around. Ahh, kids... So, all in all, not the best burger I've ever had, but they are pretty good. I seriously doubt all that grass feeding actually does much to the taste of a hamburger (especially when you just going it up and throw in salt and spice), but it makes for a great marketing gimmick here in Southern California. Still, they are better than average, which does warrant Burger Lounge getting a (weak) four star rating from me. read more

Both = Lounge Burger Carlsbad. Big Hint, only order curbside or take out from the Lounge Burger direct website. I did not realize the Yelp link is connected to GrubHub - even for takeout. Therefore, I didn't realize curbside pickup is only available through their website as well. Even though I called after the order to confirm the curbside, wires got crossed and my order got cold as it had been waiting a while inside. Why did they take off the parsley from their fries and onion rings. They taste like any other restaurants. Bland and flavorless. Take out here is awful. They never give sauces with orders, which is also one the burger lounge highlights. Those housemade sauces are to die for. So sad to see the taste quality go down. Came here last night for dinner. The location is nice and much bigger than the other ones we have been to. SERVICE - The cashier we came across was not very friendly. We walked in and she didn't say anything so I said "hi, how are you?" But she didn't respond. So I proceeded with my order. I wanted to get the Caesar as my side salad and she didn't know how to do it so she had to check with someone in the back. There was another girl (wore glasses) at the front working on the ice cream and saw us and said "have you guys been helped?" And we said yeah and she said "okay, I just wanted to make sure!". She was so sweet and very pleasant. When the other cashier came back, she told us should could not make the Caesar a side. The girl was the glasses walked over and said "yeah you can" and showed her how to do it. Thank you!!! FOOD Caesar Salad - This was very tasty with the taro on top. Perfect touch to the salad.
