This is a good place for a good and fresh burger. I opted for the original burger with a side order of cheese fries. The burger was very juicy. It tasted like it was fresh off the grill. The lady that took my order provided me excellent service. Once she got my name for my order, she warmly referred to me by name. I was also impressed by how fast my order came to my table. I didn't know if I should stop here today based on the reviews but it was really quite good. I had a regular burger dressed, no ketchup, with fries, and a chocolate shake. The straw is way too narrow fur a shake so I was glad I had some spares from other places in my glove compartment. Sorry.....I didn't think to take a picture of the hamburger before I took a taste. Well, after that first taste there was no picking up the phone to take a photo of it. That hamburger was history and working its way past my teeth into my stomach. Needless to say I really enjoyed that hamburger. So - all you get is a picture of what I consider the best fries. They're not too skinny, not that shoestring nonsense, not too thick either - baby bear perfect. Super creamy on the inside, yet super crunchy on the outside. This place can use a little bit of an update but the food is definitely good. I ordered a chicken burger and it was really juicy, my husband had "the works" and he also enjoyed it. The batter used for the onion rings is so perfect and delicious. The difference between this place and other burger restaurants is that this one is far from being a fast food place. The food was pretty similar to a homemade meal and we will definitely be back! I'm sitting here at the Lee's on Jefferson highway right across Sam's and it seems the air conditioner is broken and hasn't been fixed. I was here 2 weeks ago and it was the same situation. The employees are sweating buckets. A few of the clients were in line talking how much the owner doesn't care about the well being of the employees. It's about 100 degrees inside with 2 fans blowing. I was not so happy with this Lee's Hamburger to say the least. It bothered me so much that I had to write a review. I ordered The Works, small fry and a fountain drink. I'm so sorry that I didn't get a picture of the burger and fries! First of all, my Works burger wasn't with all the works! I had to go ask for mustard and add ketchup. None on the burger! They put the fries on the same plate as the burger and there were hardly any fries to the order. I asked the girl as she was cleaning the tables about the fries. She didn't offer to bring me a fresh order or anything. She just continued to clean. They are so cheap that they don't even put the napkins on the table for use. You have to keep getting up to retrieve them from where they were next to the soda machine. The ketchup cups are a joke too! Too small of a plastic cup to put enough ketchup. The most disturbing thing were these paper clippings that were at each table. I took a pic of each one so you could be the judge of that. If I were the owner, I'd have to update the whole entire establishment. Discussed about the whole thing and I really wanted my money back. I'm not sure how much the burger was...but what I DO know is that a cheeseburger, small onion rings and a coke cost me $10 and some change.....which I consider a bit on the pricy side for a drive through meal. Now, it was an okay burger....but I have to say that it was just okay. It was a little on the small side, I mean I've had a whopper from Burger King that packs way more punch is all I'm saying. But it was by no means a "bad" burger either. Just okay. And I get that there is a difference between a restaurant that has a drive through and "fast food." Certainly Lee's Hamburger is a local favorite and I'm sure their ingredients are much better quality than what you would expect at a chain fast food joint. Perhaps that is what your really paying for. All in all I really wanted to try this place and support a local gem but I just can't give it any more than 2 stars. I wish I could. I wanted to be amazed and rave about the awesome portions, the quality, the prices....but really it would take me a lot to feel compelled to come back. I am a big fan of Lee's, but I am only giving it 4 stars because I have never been inside the actual place (I will edit my review whenever I go in). I always get "The Works," which is always so juicy and complemented with fresh ingredients. They also have a phenomenal fish dinner, which is weird for a burger joint. From my own experience with restaurants, whenever the establishment caters to a specific meal, the outliers lack (i.e., a seafood joint that has lackluster steaks). I thought I had already reviewed Lee's. Apparently not, so allow me to regale you with tales o' my dining experience. So, one day off, whilst cruising around looking for something new to try, I drive past Lee's and had noticed this diminutive joint many times but never ventured in. So, wanting to rectify that error, I pulled into the lot, and ambled into Lee's. First, let me tell you, the staff is friendly. Like really friendly.. Like Mormon Missionary friendly (That is about as friendly as it gets). I go to the counter, the young man at the counter greets me, the lady next to him greets me and the guy in the back also greets me. I felt so damned important I was certain I had come to the right place, if not for a good burger, then at the least for a good boost to my morale. I ordered "The Works" , dressed (For folks outside o' the 504, this means with lettuce, tomatos, pickles, onions, mayo, mustard and catsup), with a side o' onion rings. The scent of these rings had permeated my brain from the adjacent fryer room and I could nay resist them. The young man happily took my money, and I waited for my food. In short time, my food came out and the young man gave me my food. He then bid me to have a nice day, and thank you for coming in, as did the woman next to him. I went to my car to eat, as I had gotten it to go. Realize I had forgotten salt for my onion rings, ventured back in. The friendly lady was now in the front alone, she greeted me enthusiastically, as did the young man who had gone to help out in the fry are in the back behind the counter. They both almost simultaneously pointed out the salt to me and I procured some and went back to my car. If that had been the high point of my visit I would still go back in, if only for the pleasant exchanges. However... That burger tasted "fresh out of 1976 when your dad would charcoal grill burgers and they would come out so tasty you think back now and cry", good!! I mean it is the best fast food burger in the city. And the rings were extremely tasty as well. But the burger, Well, Moses smell the roses, because it was INSANELY GOOD!!! This entire experience in my book, was flawless!! If you like Company Burger, Tru Burger or 5 Guys, and want to CONTINUE liking them, do NOT come here. However!! I went to this Lee's location on 6/11/2021 and I spent $27.74 for 2 hamburgers,1 onion ring , 1 sweet potato fries,1 large Coke and 1 chocolate shake. 1st I will say that the service was pretty fast and the food was pretty good but that's where the goodness ends. 2nd. The staff is not polite. I was not greeted or welcomed into the restaurant in any manner. I gave my order and told to wait. 3rd. I looked around(inspected) the restaurant while I was waiting. It is very apparent that the there is a lot of deferred maintenance , wall out lets with cardboard over them, damaged walls and furniture. 4th General cleaning is over looked, the floor was not even swepped or mopped. (sweeping can be done multiple times in the day). 5th Tacky decor... pictures of whom I assume are the owners just stuck to the wall behind the counter above the make shift shake making station behind the order counter. 6th. There is a nicely drawn picture of the Hamburgelar( a McDonalds mascot) hanging on the wall behind an open dirty curtain that blocks the doorway that enters the kitchen. 7th. The staff ordered Taco Bell that was delivered by doordash through the front entrance in front of the 2 customers in the restaurant. Lastly I would like to give some free business advice. If you listen to this advise you will increase business and then you can afford to take care of the deferred maintenance. Clean your store and make what you have look as good as possible. your personal taste and personal pictures should be reserved for your home. Greet your customers and be polite and nice. If you dont know how to be polite and nice maybe go to Canes, Mooya, Chik-Fil-A or any number of other fast food places and see how they do it. Lets face it Chik- fil -A is not that good but they are nice and their sales numbers show it. If your staff would be nice to people and clean the store, business will pick up and then more staff could be hired. If your staff does not want to be nice to the customers, let them go work at a place that would be better for them and for your business. Dont for get to tell your customers THANK YOU and if they thank you for doing your job please let them know that you are thankful for their business. Food is satisfactory. Better than typical fast food chain on food. Not even close to a craft burger joint. It is what it is. Price is higher than fast food chains and less than craft burgers so that fits just right. Service, is why they get the low stars. Acts like a mix between your typical fast food employee and someone who has been at the DMV for the last 20 years of their life. Claim to do take out...but I tried to call an order in and I got "is it s big order....if not you just need to come in. We aren't that busy." Got there (5 minutes later), saw about 4 in line inside and waited behind a vehicle in their drive through for 8 minutes after I ordered. That's why I called ahead to try and order. Lack of good employees seems to be a common theme after looking at other reviews for this Local Chain. A lot of people think that this is a franchise business when it's not. The owner of this location is actually the ex wife of the Veterans location and boy can you tell the difference. The owner is very Hands On and she takes pride in making her customers food. Yes it is a little pricey but " You get what you pay for" also the staff is very friendly and accommodating, they bring you your food at your table, the place is clean, the wait is not that long and It is Very Worth It. My 70 year old mother was treated horrible. She ordered a hamburger and onion rings. Got to her location and there was no meat on her burger. She drove back. All she wanted was the hamburger pattie on the bread. She was basically told that she was not telling the truth by some guy who claimed to be the owner. REALLY! !!! I ordered a catfish sandwich and large onion rings and it costed me $10!!! That's a bit ridiculous on the pricing. The catfish sandwich alone was $5.49, so understandably I expected a good sized sandwich. Was I wrong!!! It was smaller than a regular cheeseburger that you get from mcdonalds. The catfish filet was so small, it was hidden by the tiny bun! The onion rings had no flavor, not even salt and they were so hard I cut the inside of my mouth from eating them. Came here for a quick bite after going to Sam's across the street. Haven't been in a few years and my girlfriend had never been and was skeptical. It was fantastic! I had a chicken sandwich, and my chicken was seasoned well and juicy. She had the burger and the flavor was fantastic. The burger is good because it's not frozen but I'm personally not a fan of onions so was disappointed to find that is the only way they come. Got it anyway and it was good, despite the occasional chunk of onion.... What's strange is there are combos & I paid $7+ for a burger and drink and it doesn't come with fries, chips or anything else. I have visited this particular Lee's Hamburgers many, many times. This month I have visited it twice and have had a bad experience with their food. I ordered a Shrimp sandwich and received 6 shrimp on the sandwich and very little lettuce. It's usually filled with more shrimp. After getting all the way home and disappointed after opening up the sandwich I called Lee's Hamburgers on Airline and called and called...no one answered the phone. I called the one on Veterans Blvd. to speak to the manager there. The manager there was name Brandon. I asked him how many shrimp were suppose to be on the sandwich for their price. He said 8-10. I actually have gotten 12 to 15 in the past. Yes I count! Brandon said to go back to the place and get another sandwich and tell them that I spoke to him. I asked him if I could go to his Lee's Hamburgers instead and he said sure come on over or come in the evening and he will give me another sandwich. He even wrote a note with my name on it that I would be coming by for the cashier to know. Brandon was great! They need more Brandon's there. I then called the Airline Lee's Hamburgers again to inform them of what happened and they still did not answer the phone. Totally unprofessional to not answer the phone at a place of business. I recently went back to the Airline Lee's Hamburgers to try again and purchased a Hamburger. The lettuce was very skimpy. Do they really not have a lot of lettuce to put on the sandwich? I've never had a problem with this Airline store until recently. And I always go thru the drive thru. They've always fully dressed the sandwiches. I'm not sure what happened to them. This Airline Lee's Hamburgers is going down the drain in my books. Something is going wrong or the employees in the kitchen are not being trained correctly on how to fully dress a sandwich or count the right amount of shrimp. I've gone there for years because they are close to my neighborhood.
