The company's community-focus is a plus as well. --Woodstock Burger with bacon, white cheddar, and jack daniels maple ketchup fits my definition of classic, grilled to my liking, tasty, juicy goodness. --Mushroom Swiss Burger with lettuce, white onions, truffle aioli is ok, but a little closer to average than great. --Truffle fries - crispy, earthy, darn good. --Salads Chopped Kale with roasted hazelnuts, dried tart cherries, pecorino romano, citrus vinaigrette is healthy good eats ... while Beet and Arugula with red and golden beets, apples, cucumber, pistachios, honey vinaigrette knocked my socks off. I have been here quite a few times as the food is typically good. This past visit I was extremely disappointed with the food. Our server was on top of everything as they have really good service. But this last time I went the food was overcooked and bland I had the black an blue smash burger and it overcooked and dry,, the fries were cold and seemed like they had been sitting out for a while. My wife had the Ramsey and only ate a few bites. This is usually a really fun place to come and have a nice lunch or dinner but this time it was neither of those. I will likely go back as the inside is inviting and just has chilled out vibe to it it is in a strip mall and I have never had issues with finding a place to park. The noise level inside can be off putting to some because the tables are placed so close together and you can hear everyone's conversations in your general area, so if you want quiet night out.... After hearing much about this place, I went very excited to visit a new local NON CHAIN restaurant about a month back. I have to say I was disappointed. My coworker summed it up by saying: "it's a good overpriced cheese burger" I had this spot hyped up too much. The food is above average, atmosphere is hipster/trendy. But overall I felt the price wasn't justified. I ordered a bison burger with bacon add on- which is VERY TASTY. I think it was about $13... I kept thinking, this place is cool, good presentation and taste but not for a $13 lunch... I know many will disagree with me on this review. That's fine. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was really cute and country like. I love the wooden furniture and all. Our waitress was super sweet and checked on us regularly. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The sandwich wasn't as hot as I'd hoped, but I also have a pretty high heat tolerance so most food isn't. The sandwich was juicy and flavorful, though, so I'd definitely order it again. I've found a new love for truffle fries recently so I approve of the ones here. A girl friend that I was with never had them before so when she tried it for the first time, she instantly became addicted. I look forward to trying more of their menu. Burger Up provides a family like atmosphere with decent prices and pretty decent food! Cons: Seating consist of hard church pew, picnic like style seating...meaning wood benches. Not so comfortable to be sitting at for long extended times. Food is pretty good! I enjoyed the wings and the burger but didn't care much for the fries :( mines were cold. Place could be bigger for the amount of people that frequent here and wait in line. Bar is not very big and i just think the overall setup was just a lil small but it is a dine in burger. We had a great experience here. I had a burger that had cheese, bacon and avocado with sweet potato fries and my husband had a mushroom swiss burger with regular fries. My favorite thing here was actually the honey mustard that came with my burger. It was so delicious! I liked the fries a lot too. They kept some of the potato skin on them so they felt a little healthier. Overall, my burger was very tasty. The meat here is very high quality. I wish my burger had come with more "Fixings" - tomato, pickle, onions and more yummy stuff. I would just ask them to bring it out next time though. The burger also had a great garlic aioli on it which was very tasty. I am not giving it five stars because it certainly is not the best burger I have ever had. Just being honest. I ate there Friday, June 26 for lunch. My server never had a mask. We're in Phase Three of reopening and a face covering is required on each employee. I ordered the Jalapeño Burger and asked for it to be cooked medium; it came undercooked. Plus the sweet potato fries came out looking boiled! The Burger Up on 12 South is WAAAAAYY better. Normally I would say something to the server, but since he was not wearing a mask, I didn't want him around. How can a restaurant under the same banner serve such a lower quality of food? I had my first meal, a cheeseburger, from Burger Up today. The burger was was very very good. And, writing my name on the "take out" box and telling me to have a "Happy Sunday" was nice touch. It made me smile. I have 2 things that I see as ways to improve your business, which is why I am only giving you 3 stars: 1) there is NO curbside pick-up, so you must go inside to pick-up your meal and that means you have to go all the way through the restaurant to pick up your food at the bar. In the age of COVID, this is totally unacceptable! 2) it would be nice if you offered the option of a whole wheat bun. There is no nutritional value in an all white bun and your burgers are suppose to be a cut above and are priced as such. There are a lot of places to get a burger out there, including restaurants that claim, like Burger Up, it as their specialty. What sets burger up apart from the competition is the quality of food they serve. I've been to this location twice, and to another location once, but I've had some of the best burgers each time. This time I had The Ramsey. Not sure why it's named such, but I go to Nacho Libre for answers. "The Ramsey is number one... The Ramsey's pimento cheese is number one... The Ramsey's bacon is number one..." I loved this burger. The pimento cheese was creamy and flavorful, but didn't distract from the perfectly cooked burger. Throw a little local bacon in there and call it a southern burger like no other. I would come back for this burger again and again. Great food, friendly server. BUT the manager brought our food to us and dropped ketchup into my daughters shorts. Accidents happen and I totally understand that. They did apologize and our server was great. At the end they gave us a free $7 dessert. The shorts that are ruined are significantly more expensive than $7. A friend told us about Burger Up and said it was a great place to try a Bison burger. I soon found out I was the only person present who hadn't tried bison and I was feeling a little left out! We decided to give Burger Up a try. We were starving and fortunately got seated immediately. We ordered two very reasonably priced appetizers, fried pickles and fried mushrooms. They were delivered very quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pickles were! The dipping sauce, apparently a house specialty, added crazy good flavor to the pickles. The mushrooms looked unusual...when I inspected them, I figured out the server misunderstood me and thought I said fried macaroni and cheese! I'd never tried that, so just rolled with it and enjoyed that appetizer instead of sending it back. It was delicious, again with added flavor from the sauce. Then came the bison burger! It is so lean, they actually have to add a little oil when preparing it so it doesn't become too dry. It was basically like an excellent steak burger...I highly recommend bison if you get the chance. Burger Up! prides themselves on using local meet & produce. The beef was nice, but didn't have much favor, it needed a little salt & pepper & maybe a little more fat for flavor. The mushroom & Swiss comes with onions with horseradish sauce. The sauce didn't have much flavor, which I was surprised by, because horseradish is a very intense flavor. The fries were okay. They are cut from the potato with the skin on, which I like, but they tastes too greasy for me. The fries also didn't have much flavor other than grease. Ok. I would like to say I have been here with my family of 7 more times than I can remember. Its changed. The quality has gone down prices up. The burgers lack taste now, the fries have changed both sweet and regular or maybe they stopped using the peanut oil they advertise. The aoili changed the buns changed, mine was soggy too. But their crowning glory is that they now have amongst the most expensive beer in Franklin. Craft beer over 50% of the menu priced at $8. Even a 12oz Yazoo bottle at $6.50. While I am at it they also charge 15% tax on their wine without posting it on the menu which people is against the law...yes the law. I gave my feedback to the manager and was told I was wrong in all areas. I showed him the TN alcohol beverage and beer tax guide specifically page 19. Effective May 9th 2017 Tennessee code 5 7 - 4 - 301 allows a business owner to either include the tax on the sale of alcoholic beverages on the premises in the menu price of the alcoholic beverage oil to include the tax on the final bill to the customer if tax is not included in the menu price notice must be provided on the menu the 15% tax on the sale of alcoholic beverages will be added to the final bill. What I didn't expect is that a tip is included in taxes and fees. Of course, they also ask if you want to tip. I went in to this burger places expecting to find grandiose creations, but what I found was more common variations of the traditional burger. And then the burger arrived and I took a bite of what was more about the meat than the toppings. Like a steak at a fine steakhouse, this burger could possibly have been enjoyed without anything on it. I got the "Ramsey" with homemade pimento cheese, some amazing bacon and pickles. I also got the sheet potato fries and they are some of the best, yet most simple, that I'd had. My only complaint was the general messiness of the restaurant. Our menu had smeared food. This was my third visit and the service quality has taken a profound nosedive since my second trip. To begin with, the hostesses seemed really confused about their job description - find a way to expeditiously seat people at one of the many open tables. Server was... okay... but hasn't learned yet that it's easy to increase your tip by keeping water glasses filled and removing plates and utensils once they are no longer needed. Oh, and the universal signal to bring the check is when a form of payment is clearly visible on the table. Probably couldn't see my credit card amongst the dirty plates though.
