    Doner vegetarian burger
    Asjit H.

We are always eager to try new places and while driving by on University Dr came across this new dining place. Turned out to be a new found with healthy chicken shawarma/doner options. We ordered almost every kind of entree option- sandwich, burger, classic garlic bread, chicken bowl, chocolate waffles. Everything tasted amazing and so freshly prepared ala carte meal. Their servers are very polite and offer good prompt service. Pretty spacious diner! Should definitely try if you are aroun the area or craving for good doner food!

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleased! If you'd had a gyro, this is similar yet quite different. A donner kebab is thinly shaved meat, sandwiched in a waffle like pita bread, stuffed with veggies, sauces, and packed with tons of flavor! It looks bigger than one could think to handle however it was super easy to eat and was totally fulfilling. The great thing was that it didn't leave me with a heavy feeling at all; rather a sense that I actually ate something tasty and healthy. The fries were great too with the options of the seasons but the best were the sauces!!! Try them all!! There is a yogurt, garlic, and spicy and all pair well with the donner and fries! We got the original donner- as is, and were totally satisfied. I really would not have changed a thing, but they can customize if you wish. Service was friendly however it was slow... so definitely expect to wait a little bit longer than a chipotle! The ambience was great, plenty of seating in a industrial/retro/casual space! The colors are bright and overall pretty clean. Overall GDK was pretty good, I'll be back for sure and will hope they open other locations!

Food was great and the service was amazing! Everything came out fresh and fast, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and well run, and overall it was a really good experience. Definitely coming back!

Döner kebab (beef) and curry fries.

Everything was solid. The food was just like the döner I used to get from Lucky Döner in Landstuhl, Germany. The staff was super-friendly and the place was clean. The only other döner place I've found Stateside that was anything like the döner I would get overseas is Cafe Divan in DC. GDK is excellent. Also, if you are looking for a "German restaurant," this is not what this is. This is a döner kebab place that does döner the way the Turks in Germany make them. And it's spot on. If you were ever in the military and stationed in Germany, you would know exactly what this is.

    Original kebab with combination meat

Was excited to see and try this new place. We've had all kind of kebabs but not German one. I was pleased with the amount of foods received. I ordered their original combo with combo meat and curry fries. The amount of foods received were great, so it was money well spent. Service was great as well as the taste. We'll definitely be back.

Honestly the food was pretty good, portions are huge! Loved the egg rolls and original Sandwich. Got mixed meat, beef and chicken but the beef was my favorite by far and same for my wife. The problem is the wait time, we waited 37min (I timed it) for food!! Table next to us waited over 40min, this is unacceptable in today's fast casual restaurant world. This caused lots of back-up and people not freeing up tables and long line's waiting for food. They really have a process problem! For what they serve the wait time is absolutely ridiculous. They did not look under staffed just horrible process. Don't visit unless you have an hour to kill.

    Hair in food

Firstly, if the food is good and it's expensive, okay great, makes sense. This food was horrid and expensive so I was already upset as soon as I took my first bite and had to go get salt packets. I don't believe in having to season my phone when I'm eating out. If I wanted to do that, I'd eat at home. The salt was also not even to season it, more so to cover up the taste of the rice. We got bowls and the "original" whatever that is. The rice for the bowls? Made in an INSTAPOT. You can't even be bothered to get out a pot and make fresh rice every few hours. The chicken was dry and hard (like when you shred chicken then microwave it too much) The rice was soggy probably because it had been sitting there overnight/all day but also because the rice to water ratio was definitely off. You're already being lazy by making it in an INSTANT POT but not you can't even be bothered to google rice to water ratio? The "original", the bread it came in was sooooo small. I mean think a bit bigger than a toaster waffle then folded in half. The guy up front was nice but the food was so bad. And not bad like "oh we'll give it one more try" I mean bad like complain worthy. Like if you were at a restaurant, you'd send it back -- I don't care who you are, Karen or not, you're sending that food bad. Lastly, there was a hair in my food. So that's nice. I went to eat it the next day because I didn't want to waste $50 of food and I found a hair. Was not mine as it was short and black -- same type of hair the cook had (place has glass that's see through to the kitchen). This place just isn't good. It's always empty so I'm not surprised.

Really great service! You can tell the workers are passionate about what they do. My wife and I usually order a mix of both meats. Don't miss the sauce! It's delicious. There's also a punch card for a free kebab after 5 orders. Thanks

It is a fantastic spot, and I will absolutely be back! Ambience It has the ultimate hidden-gem vibe. The dining area is tucked away right in the back of the market, which gives it a super casual, no-frills, and highly authentic feel. They feature a giant menu packed with traditional Mexican dishes, so there is plenty to choose from. Service The service was efficient and helpful. They handle the massive menu well, and I really appreciated how accommodating they are with letting you customize your order, especially when it comes to picking your proteins. Food + Street Tacos (Tripa and Lengua): Particularly enjoyed these! Both the tripa (tripe) and lengua (beef tongue) were prepared perfectly and tasted incredibly authentic. + Quesabirria Tacos: These were absolutely on point. Rich, savory, and delicious. + Gigantic Burrito (with Lengua): This thing was massive! I love that you can choose any meat to go into it, and putting lengua in it was an awesome choice.

First of all the customer service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. The cashier lowkey seemed annoyed as soon as I walked in. She wasn't like rude but she wasn't particularly nice either. Also, the pricing is kinda sketchy. They have a sign saying that the pricing they have up isn't accurate and is subject to change with inflation, which, I understand, but still. Even though it was kind of a red flag, I was already committed to the adventure! Plus, as much as I love food, I have no problem paying a premium for anything as long as the food is fantastic/the overall experience is worth it. I wanted to try a few things so I got the taco plate which comes with three tacos, and rice and beans and then I ordered two additional tacos a la carte so I could try other protein options. So the taco plate + 2 additional tacos (5 tacos total) up being $22.72. Which - seemed kinda wild, but whatever, obviously at this point, my expectations are through the roof! I got the Fajita Beef, Fajita Chicken, Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Barbacoa tacos. Unfortunately, none of them blew me away. The rice and beans were standard. The salsas were solid, as well, and extremely spicy! The fajita beef was the most flavorful of all the protein options, but everything else was just okay. Edible, yes. Fantastic? Absolutely not. I actually had to add more seasoning to each protein when I got home. Also, I noticed that, (with the exception of the fajita beef), the meat on the tacos was somehow pretty dry while the taco was greasy at the same time. Not sure how that's even possible. The Al pastor was the most disappointing. Not only was the flavor lacking, but it didn't come with pineapple, which is typically my favorite part. Also, nothing on the receipt was itemized, so I don't even know how much the taco plate was or if I was even charged correctly. For the price, I was expecting this to be an above average experience, but unfortunately, it was not. Definitely a bummer because I've been looking for a really good, tucked away, taco gem in the area, but baby this is NOT the one!

We tried their thali, so we could try a bit of all of dishes. They were so kind they let us make substitutions for the thali so we could try exactly what we wanted. With the very generous Thali offer that lets you mix and match as you please, you get any biryani, curry, tandoor item and naan of your choice!! I'm SHOOK at how nice of a deal it is! Most thali's have preselected items so the fact that you can choose exactly the items you want is truly a unique and special thing about this restaurant! We ordered the Karachi chicken biryani since it's their special, garlic naan, tandoor chicken and a lamb curry! It took about 15-20 minutes to get our food but it was worth the wait. We ordered to-go, however, once it arrived, the smell of the food was too good to resist so we just got a table to eat there. They provided bottled water as well. The food tasted home cooked and very very flavorful! I HIGHLY recommend this place when you are in the mood for some good biryani or chicken/lamb dishes! I walked in thinking I'd have a "light lunch" and walked out needing a nap and a structural engineer to check if my belt was still up to code. The Food: The hummus is so smooth I'm pretty sure it could solve international conflicts if we just gave everyone a pita bread peace treaty. I ordered the Kabob, and let me tell you, the meat was so tender it basically gave up and melted the second it saw my fork. The rice is fluffy enough to be used as a premium hotel pillow, though I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it--you'll want to eat every grain. The Experience: The staff is great, but be warned: they have a "dangerously hospitable" vibe. You'll be sitting there, minding your own business, and suddenly there's more food on your table. I didn't know if I was at a restaurant or if I'd been adopted by a Iranian family who thinks I haven't eaten since 2022. The Verdict: If you're in Frisco.
