I quit eating fast food and bought a gym membership 10 years ago (August 2004). But when I was up in Beaverton visiting my godparents, they told me about this place. I was immediately sold on the blackberry shakes. For those who whine about BV being more expensive than McD's, BK, or Wendy's, well, what do you expect from a place that is committed to using higher quality ingredients? In what world does that happen? Don't tell me that you also expect organic produce to be cheaper than non-organic. Service was competent (a rarity at fast food places), friendly, and super fast. Our food came out while we were still filling our cups at the soda fountain after placing our order! They don't use heat lamps, so I'm pretty sure that they started making it while we were placing our long order, modifying it, and squabbling over who would pay. Also a more diverse menu than a typical fast food restaurant: not only are there different types of hamburgers (single, double, cheeseburger, Tillamook cheeseburger), there are a variety of other sandwiches as well. Veggie burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, etc. Great selection. I normally don't like onion rings, but these sweet Walla Walla onion rings were the right ratio of batter to onion, so I didn't get lost in a sea of batter with an onion the width of a hair. Burgers are on the thin side because it's only 1/4 lb pre-cooked. Fries are pretty standard as well. But at least you can feel good about them being locally sourced, fresh ingredients. The milkshakes were a sweet, creamy treat bursting with blackberry goodness. I kept telling my bf that if he didn't hurry up and drink his milkshake that I would. Although this place advertises itself as a burger place, it's really the onion rings and shakes that are the stars of the show. read more

Burgerville, really then why the poor selection of burgers. I have to say not much impressed me with this fast food joint that has a imbarssing selection of burgers to call themselves burgerville. We were on our way to Carls Jr. when we changed our plans for this place. The kids menu is overpriced for what you get, the kids chicken "strips" were overly saturated in grease and the chicken was sub par. My burger was very plain with little to no flavor. The veggies were fresh and great. The fries, well they have fries and onion rings that's it. Service was great otherwise I would have given them a one star. Bottom line: It's overpriced, weak selection, bland foods, fries suck. Fresh veggies and great service. I can safely say I will never be back. I flippin love me some Burgerville. My faves? Fish and chips and the cheeseburger add onions. The spread....OMG the spread! It totally makes the burgers here. I've also had the veggie burger that is good. The sweet potato fries (totally HAD to have them last night) are flipping amazing. Crispy, just the right amount of salt. YUM! Also, I was able to order a fat-free frozen yogurt milkshake. HOORAY! The only thing I did notice about this location ( I also have frequented the Gresham one) is that unlike the Gresham location they do not print the nutrition info on the reciept. Maybe this is for the better. Hell, I know when I saw my order on the reciept coming out of the Gresham drive through with the nutrition info....it was a tad scary. I still ate it of course. Mmmm. Delicious local food. If you want fast food that's created by those Oregonians who care about saving the planet, this is where you should go. I highly recommend getting a Tillamook Cheeseburger. It's just good. And if you're trying to watch your weight, hold the fries and don't order a shake. If you're ok with eating a few extra calories, go for gold and then take a walk in the rain afterwards. Oh, and to complete the experience, pick out some tunes on the jukebox. Heard from someone that BV makes a decent burger. I got a bacon blue burger that when unwrapped looked like it was a few hours old. Normally the first bite is the best because even if the burger isn't great you're still into satisfying your hunger. However, from the first bite I was disgusted. The patty was this grey mass that tasted like it was previously frozen only to be flapped on a griddle and then sit under heat lamps. I wasn't a little disappointed because the burger cost $6.50. Everything from the limp, flavorless "bacon" strips to the blue cheese "sauce" was repulsive. You think that maybe the fries could save this meal? Think again. The fries bad that freezer burned taste even after hours of sitting under a heat lamp - worse than Ore Ida! It was a thoroughly depressing meal. The only redeeming factor in this meal was the wet wipe I found at the bottom of the bag. I used it to wipe off my fingers after tossing the entire meal back into the bag and pitching it into the rubbish bin. Burgerville would do better if they lowered they're prices to reflect the low quality of they're food. Or maybe simplifying the items they offer might help. Think In-N-Out. They know a thing or two about perfecting the few items on their menu. read more

Went through the drive through (25min!) , especially for the walla walla onion rings, also, a burger, halibut fish and chips, shake.. drive off and but in an cold, I mean, not under a warmer cold onion ring.. of course the dining room was closed, walked up to the drive through to get remade, took a while, by time got back everything else was cold. I have a love/hate relationship with this location. When the food is made correctly it's really good. But often I'll order a burger to be made plain. Half the time, they know what that means, the other half, will leave you scratching your head. Today I ordered a tillamook cheeseburger - plain. It was labeled as suck on the wrapper. But I opened it to discover a whole lot of mayo and ketchup all over it. That's not plain. A while back I ordered the same burger, plain. I received it dry with all the produce. Too expensive to be anything more than 3 stars. I've eaten here a number of times and it's good but far to expensive for a chain fast food place. Today I got a Tillamook Cheeseburger Basket with 5 asparagus spears and a small strawberry lemonade and it was almost 11 dollars. The meat has good flavor, a little greasy though. They seem to put a lot of mayo on them as well. The asparagus was really good! Lightly battered and fried to perfection. I also loved the strawberry lemonade. It has lots of chunks of real strawberries in it. So If you don't mind spending 8 dollars for a regular but good tasting burger then you'll enjoy it here. read more

The colossal burger was pretty good but the halibut fish and chips was mediocre at best. The breading on two sides was equal to or more than the meat of the fish which for the price was most disappointing. So unless you enjoy fried bread crumbs I would steer cleat of the fish and chips. read more

I love Burgerville the company. Their commitment to local sustainable food sources is amazing. The guy who wrote "Fast Food Nation" said it was the only fast food restaurant at which he would eat. The burgers are great. I almost always get the Half Pound Colossal Cheese Burger w/bacon on a 9-grain bun. The special sauce on this burger is really good (esp. in conjunction w/the pickles and bacon) and you can pick up a jar of it if you like. We often stop here for breakfast on the way to work. It's a fast drive through with some of the best fast food hash brown patties ever. Usually very crisp on the outside and super moist and falling apart on the inside. Very flaky. Just good potatoes you can hold in your hand. That said, I'm not giving this particular location a 5 star b/c the edges of their tables are sticky. It's a design flaw, not dirtiness (I hope). They were closed a few weeks ago for renovations, and I was hoping that the tables would have been replaced. Unfortunately, they weren't. Maybe sometime soon? The people working there are always extra nice. If you need a burger fast, skip those national chains and eat some good local food here. read more

My love for Burgerville has no bounds. I love, love , LOVE burgers, shakes, and fries. This LA girl would be in serious trouble if Burgerville moved down the coast. A drive up burger place, that seems like fast food, but is made with local, sustainable, and healthy (ish) ingredients would have me driving through all the time. For now though they limit themselves to OR. Shakes. For me it's all about the shakes here. In my 6 days I had the seasonal Cherry Chocolate (OMG!!!) with real cherries, mocha (Zing!!) with real espresso grounds, and on the first day it was available the seasonal peppermint chocolate (WOW!!) with candy cane piece goodness clogging up my straw. I had one with the optional "light" yogurt option and was disappointed, but if you are watching your waist be sure to try it. It's not bad...it's just not as good. The burgers and fries are excellent for a drive through place. I hate fast food, but I'm happy to eat here. The sweet potato fries are heaven. Service is always friendly and nice...but it's OR people so that's what I expect everywhere. :) read more

Burgerville makes me proud to say that I'm from the Northwest. Every time I visit Oregon, I make it a point to stop by Burgerville and pick up a Tillamook cheeseburger and mocha shake. Delicious! Burgerville truly serves the quintessential classic American hamburger. The patty is peppered to perfection and they put in the perfect amount of sauce. Not so much where the burger becomes messy, but not so little where you're wondering whether they even put any in. And don't even get me started on their shakes. I never noticed before, but this location has a remarkably long isolated drive-thru lane. It's like landing on the Battlestar Galactica. Now it's got me wondering about other drive-thrus. I know it's just fast food, but it's not something you can get in California, so I find this place intriguing. It's not cheap, but it's good and has a wide variety of choices from regular burgers to veggie burgers to turkey burgers. For lunch today for just under $10, I got a small order of rosemary shoestring fries with garlic (yum!), a small strawberry milkshake with real, fresh strawberries throughout (yum!), and the special turkey burger with spinach and crispy onions. I wasn't actually a fan of the turkey burger. It needed something more in my opinion. But that said, I'm still a fan of this fast food place and wonder why it's not in California? Great that they use local/seasonal products. Sends great "green" message out in everything they do. I'm a fan even without loving my burger because the quality was there, it just missed on the taste for me. There's so much else to try, I have no doubt I'll go back. I did the drive-thru so I can't comment on inside cleanliness or anything. Prime time at lunch though and they kept the line moving quickly, so kudos for that as well. I keep on seeing this chain in Oregon and decided to try the burgers out. The manager was really friendly and nice as he made sure I was taken care of. I ordered the pepper bacon cheese burger. The burger was not juicy and dry. I compare this to burger king. Unfortunately a good burger must be juicy. The bacon was good tasting at least. I tried the fried asparagus and it was not too bad. Burgerville is one of my favorite fast-food places, not only because of their food, but also because of their business practices. Their slogan is "Fresh, Local, Sustainable" - and I'm behind that 100%! They use as many local ingredients as possible, they rotate in seasonal items based on what's available. They also have different items than other "regular" fast food places, but their burgers and fish remain my faves. They're a little more expensive than McDonalds and Burger King, but i know that its for a good reason. They get an entire star because of their smoothies - they're made with YoCream fat-free frozen yogurt, but taste EXACTLY LIKE THEIR MILKSHAKES. I cannot tell the difference, and you save about half the calories! Sometimes I'll go there just for their seasonal smoothie flavor - yum! News you can use: Get one of their rewards cards, and register it online. Not only do you earn cash/points for every dollar you spend (that you can redeem next time you come that takes $ of your bill), they'll give you a $5 credit during your birthday month. Totally worth having another card in my wallet. I'm surprised they don't print the nutrition on their reciepts anymore - they used to! I love Burgerville's commitment to local and sustainable products and their fast food is better than just about any national chain. I'm just not sure the 185th location is of similar quality to other locations. The Burgerville menu is loaded with great fast food burgers and they offer seasonal sides and shakes, including waffle fries, sweet potato fries and milkshakes made with locally-picked berries. Suck on that McDonald's. The 185th location provides this same food, but the interior restaurant can be a tad dirty at times and the drive thru service can be spotty - slow around lunch and rush times and apt to forget key things like napkins. (The location at Scholls Ferry and Allen Roads in Beaverton is better, FYI.) The food is still good enough to make this my go-to location when I am running late or need a quick bite. They also have free WiFi and good hours. read more

We just moved into the area and wanted to try a Burgerville. Sad to say, we were super disappointed. The staff couldn't care less about us, gossiped and chatted amongst themselves, was less than enthusiastic about us being there and put no effort into making food. Our burgers were tasteless, rubbery, GREASY and lacked everything we were excited about. The restaurant area was clean, as were the drink stations and garbage areas. Just had a great meal with my daughter there. The stars of the meal were the fresh raspberry shake and the Walla Walla onion rings. I'm not sure what can be said about that shake except that it tasted like fresh raspberries and was excellent. Those rings were hot, fresh and the right amount of crunch. A big wide cup of ranch or other dipping sauce of our choice. We did eat in, and they brought the food to us, and also split the large shake into two cups for us. Dependable and juicy Tillamook Cheeseburger--the only place we get cheese since our family really doesn't consider American "cheese" to be the real deal. Note: I always say "light mayo" at any burger place and I did here too. I usually go through the drivethrough here and I have never had a wrong order, and food has consistently been good. The spring special of halibut and chips was noteworthy. Burgerville does have a smaller basic cheeseburger for about $1.50, but yes, it's true, their main items do cost more than other fast food. Then again, the other fast food is not fresh, locally grown or raised, or ever organic. So what would be a more fair comparison? Well, it's not known for locally grown ingredients, but consider Red Robin, right up 185th, which is the same neighborhood and also a place I've been to multiple times. Red Robin certainly wins on the fries. But I prefer a Burgerville burger over Red Robin's rather dry burgers. I much, much prefer BV Walla Wallas over the Red Robin Tower of Rings. I think the regular vanilla shakes are a tie in flavor, but Burgerville's seasonal shakes definitely win over Red Robin's. So I gave it a 5 because Burgerville fulfills its mission really well, and holds up well against the others around it. read more

It's Burgerville, I wouldn't say it's the bomb but not on the bottom of the fast food hamburger joints. I'd say it is a step above the unholy trinity of Mc D's, Carls or the King but I wouldn't say as heavenly as In & Out. I'd grant that the sweat onion rings are very good. My friends love Burgerville and rave about it all the time, but I just don't get it. It might be that I'm jaded by having In & Out burgers or I didn't grow up on it. Either way, it's okay. Not the best location I've ever been to, but not the worst. Staff is consistent, the same lady is always there when we go on week days for lunch. Consistent staff means that they still consistently make the same errors. We've had several mistakes with our food, which is the only BVille location I've ever had it happen. Tables are often not clean. Food comes quick, but we've gotten cool-ish burgers several times. Usually get fresh, hot fries which is a plus. I LOVE the space age coke machines that you can pick and chose your flavor combos. Though it seems like usually at least one of the flavors is out. Lame. If this wasn't the closest location, we wouldn't keep coming here. But it is, so we do. Main thing: truly one of the best desserts in town is the chocolate shake as far as I'm concerned. Other shakes are also awesome. When we had out-of-town-guests they loved the shakes. We also appreciate the halibut, the turkey burger, the tea. We are sad that they dropped the caff-free diet coke.
