Not a big deal, because burgers, even the wrong burgers are still delicious (his: ordered plain, arrived with condiments. mine: ordered with condiments, arrived with different condiments than ordered). the following day, LBB sends out a 2 question survey to each of us via text message. he fills it out, notes burger mix-up, gets a reply AND a free burger for next time. And for $8, you'll need to get two of them. The fries are pretty good but for an average man, you'll need to spend about $20. So I would say this is a solid 3.5 - good location and food, OK service, interesting pricing. I have only been here one time before and decided to visit while in the area around dinner time. This location is at the center of Orenco Station. Free parking garage (2-hour) parking available on both sides and limited street parking. It is a small location with window and counter bench seating, a big picnic table shared seating in the middle, and two outdoor picnic tables for sunnier days. Service was not overly friendly but we were greeted when we walked in. The menu is simple but a few options of beef burgers, one chicken burger (that was actually more expensive for $8?!) and a Beyond burger option with their signature truffle fries ($4) and drinks. We got our order to go and they make it to order so that was great and the ingredients were fresh. They also make ketchup in house and a yummy fry sauce. To be fair the cheeseburgers were very tasty with thick beef patty and all the toppings (cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle, homemade ketchup) and the truffle fries freshly made and tossed in aromatic seasoning dipped in their secret fry sauce. Side note, you know it's going to be good when the grease comes through the bag (Five Guys Style lol) However, $20 for 2 SMALL cheeseburgers and fries is a little wild to me. With that said, I did notice that they have a good lunch and deal for $10 - burger, fries and drink served until 4pm. So when we do come back at some point in the future, we will take advantage of this lunch bag deal for sure! read more

I agree with other reviewers that the price is pretty high for what you're getting. The food quality is a 5 but the price should be lower. You could get a double double at In-N-Out for almost half the price, and that's fast food. They should just make big big burgers. In the plaza of Orenco Station amongst other restaurants this is one quick bite burger joint. They have the staple of burgers and frequently special burgers that's going to be a surprise. The burgers are small, but thick. Think of the opposite of a smash burger. It's nice and juicy every time I eat here. The truffle fries are great if you get them hot. Well hadn't found this spot next to the max at Orenco station, wish I'd taken the max to get there. Alas we drove and tried to find free street parking nearby, so we circled and searched and had all but given up when we found a spot blocks away. Grabbed the spot and started down the corridors of towering apartments, not the wide open spaces that used to dominate this once rural local. The winter sun blasting at low angles illuminated little big burger through the huge open window looking into the small space. The fry cooks were busy doing their thing, prepping the mini burgers and fries. I imagined the quad full of festive residents on a summer day, but January wasn't bringing out many and the coffee shop was more popular with indoor diners Nextdoor. We ordered the $10 combo cheesy little burgers, fries (thankfully without the signature truffle oil, gag) and a soda, plus a regular cheese-less burger. All in all a tasty snack, well made and served with a smile. I'd advise taking the max train or paying the parking goblins. Well that was rough... Just got our DoorDash order. The truffle fries do not have any truffle flavor at all, though they are pretty salty. The fries and all the burgers are cold and very hard and dry. The burgers were very well done when asked for medium. I took a bite of my fancy burger and the patty was crunchy... My mom is strictly vegetarian, so I got her a beyond burger, but it's missing. We were told by the DoorDasher that the store ran out of fry sauce, but there wasn't even catsup in the bags. This restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, the location is convenient to the Max. Outdoor seating for watching fools park their cars in the bus only lanes. The food is fine. They've got tasty little burgers and truffle fries. You would think with such a small menu the food prep would be efficient and quick. You'd be wrong. Cooks in there work with no sense of urgency. Every time I'm in there (which is not often based on poor prior experiences, but sometimes my tastebuds overrule my common sense...) there are 3 or 4 of them standing around looking at each other as if none of them have operated a grill before. The double was a bit messy and tall, I would probably do a single next time. Burger had good flavor and was juicy. They offer 3 cheese options and 2 are from Tillamook. Fresh buns and simple condiments. They also offer a veggie burger and chicken burger if that's your thing. They are a chain but source local. Service was fast and friendly. Tips. State how you want your burger cooked, mine was a little under done for my preference. Also this by design is a walking neighborhood and parking can be a bit tight. I always love their truffle fries! I finally went after a couple years (due to covid and I rarely go to this area these days). Just as good as before and loved it. It did get a bit dry and hard when I did take out but that happens. I also love their frysauce, you must try it! For one bag, I think it was around $3.75 which which was reasonable for the amount they give. It's also one of the fewer places where they have truffle oil fries. We came for a burger and fries to go on a Thursday around 6:15pm. There were a couple of orders in front of us but by the time we left there were around 5 more groups waiting for their orders. We had a fairly large order of 6 burgers and 4 orders of fries and it took around 20 minutes for our order. The two young ladies were working hard behind the counter and all of the food is made fresh so the wait is understandable. The burgers look small, they are smaller in diameter than a McDonald's cheeseburger but have a thicker patty. The men needed two burgers to get full, but the burgers are more filling than they look. The fries are plentiful, crispy and tasty and highly recommend having them with their fry sauce. The sauce has a lot of flavor with a little spice. We had extra fries even with my hungry boys so an order can definitely be shared. Their prices have really gone up over the years so it's not the deal that it used to be, but still a good option and will be back for their fries. read more

This LBB is the closest to my house, I've stopped at others and finally got around to this one. Parking here can be troublesome, heads up. We got our regulars, 2 burgers well-done and 2 fries without truffle oil. And as we've found at other locations, the burgers were made to order and the fries were (overly) plentiful. (Seriously, share one for 2 people...we always forget and end up throwing loads away). Yummy little burgers...EXcellent fry sauce and homemade ketchup...very tasty fries. During my most recent visit to Portland Oregon, my sister who lives in the suburbs said I had to try Little Big Burger during our visit so we made it happen! She is a California Native (as are a lot of Oregonians) so of course In n Out Burger has always been at the top of her charts in the world of fast food burgers. In her humble opinion, LBB is the closest burger to fulfilling her burger needs until she comes and visits me in SoCal. (although, there are now 3 In n Out locations in the state of Oregon) but for now Little Big Burger satisfies her cravings. My Experience: On Friday January 10th, I made my LBB debut and I was very impressed. Would I compare them to In n Out?? I could see a few similarities: pricing, cleanliness, made fresh upon ordering, and a damn good burger!! What I will say is this: Their burgers are very flavorful; surprisingly, it made me full, but not overly stuffed despite their smaller size, and the burgers are made to order which I always appreciate! I ordered their cheeseburger with Chèvre (goat) cheese and it was bomb!! All burgers include lettuce, pickle, red onion and ketchup on a brioche bun (and your choice of cheese if you so choose). We had their standard truffle fries for $3, and one order was plenty for 3 adults. A Chicken burger and Beyond patty is available if you are not a red meat eater. I was jazzed when I saw they had Mr. Pibb as a fountain drink as it's my Fav. Side note: A few day later, I got my haircut at the barber shop in the same area and I mentioned to the girl cutting my hair that I ate at LBB a few days prior. She said her husband is a burger connoisseur and that LBB is owned by the same burger spot in downtown Portland called Super Deluxe which in her husbands opinion, is actually more like In n out in terms of style, presentation and comparison of taste. Guess I will be bookmarking S.D. for my next Portland trip. All in all, LBB is a great place and I am all about supporting small chain, mom n pop burger joints because each have their own creativity, values and heart in making the best burger they can! read more

LBB pulls some kind of magic trick with their truffle fries. They're always served hot, but even as they cool, they stay crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. An order of the fries is great value - not five guys huge but pretty close. Also, LBB has somehow figured out how to make these fries both truffley and approachable to people who hate truffles (like Mr mother) Part of the charm of LBB was always their limited menu. They did one thing, and they did it well. You could get fries, or a burger with your choice of cheese. The recent departure from this is a mixed bag -- it's great that more dietary restrictions are now accommodated, but frankly the new chicken and beyond burgers kind of suck. For example, the chicken burger has the all-too-common problem of the patty being a bit rubbery and sausage-like. Nevertheless, the original burgers, cheeseburgers, and even the new Greek burger are all fantastic (and not as little as you might fear!) The biggest drawback of LBB, and this location in particular, is how incredibly slow they are. I come here quite frequently, and have to various locations over the last 5 years. At every location, but especially the Orenco one, I'm always baffled by how it takes 20 to 25 minutes to go from entering the door to leaving with a burger. The restaurant (as mentioned) has an extremely limited menu, and indeed one that's well suited to preparing large portions of the items ahead of time without loss of quality. The long wait is extremely aggravating. In summary, LBB is a great place to get fries and a burger, but stick to those items, expect the fries to be more filling than the burger, and plan for a long wait, but come nevertheless. read more

Been here a few times previously - this time was the best. The burgers tasted like the LBB's in PDX rather than a start up. (I was hoping this would be the case.) The only issue was i ordered extra cheese on mine and it hardly had any at all. I went back to the counter and showed the girl at the register who quickly got me another piece of cheese and put it on for me. Problem solved! So extremely upset. We just spent more than $68 for 2 drinks, 3 fries, and 5 burgers - that's without tip. While the taste of the fries is worth it, the burgers have gone WAY downhill since the last time we visited, probably in late 2021. The beef is almost tasteless. They charge extra if you want more than one kind of cheese - which is fine - and the one burger we ordered with pepper jack and blue cheese has but TWO TINY PIECES of blue cheese crumble - that's it. No flavor of blue cheese comes through. But the worst is the chicken burger: one person in our party doesn't eat ground beef but this "chicken" burger is so... well, no one can tell its chicken, it's not beef, and it maybe it is Beyond beef because the person who ordered it CANNOT EAT IT, it's so bad. My kids loved the fries as well since they were small, thin, and great truffle flavors. it's easier for kids to hold. I will always come back for the fries and burgers. Just a disclaimer I understand and respect that take-out during covid may be overwhelming for restaurants, but as a loyal patron I hope the restaurant would understand that not all customers are trying to "get over" on them. Because my boyfriend and I OFTEN come to the restaurant we received a free burger to our email, when we placed the order WE accidentally forgot to modify. With that being said I called the restaurant to see if they could possibly fix it for us. They pulled up the order and told us of our mistake and said they could remake the burger, prior to that they asked me to bring the burger back(which I thought was weird with covid precautions, and the fact that I told them I threw it away). I fish the burger out of my trash and bring it back as asked. Upon arrival I stated the name on the order, they asked for my online receipt to verify the previous order, even though I had the burger in the bag for them. I felt attacked as a customer by both of the employees working. They already told me over the phone I didn't modify the burger and asked me to bring back the tainted order, so why ask for the previous order receipt? Are they attempting to now show me after telling me multiple times I didn't order the burger right? Either way I didn't have the order receipt it was on my boyfriends phone and he was still home, I asked them if they weren't able to find my online order and they said that they were. As I was leaving I checked my order, this time it was missing bacon, and there was bacon on the previous order so I just asked for it on the side. The girl I spoke with on the phone then comes out of the back to let me know that they will make the bacon but for some reason it just seems like I want to complain. I'm blown away at this point! I've been trying to be as calm as I can be and understanding. I proceeded to ask the manager if I came of rude because it wasn't my intention, I explained that I have a kid at home and I'm just trying to make it back. THE MANAGER then proceeds to tell me that I was rude and defensive and how some customers try to come and get free food so they have to take precautions. And when I get home I see a missed call on my phone from the restaurant, it feels taunting. Why would the manager on duty allow the employee to tell me I'm just trying to complain when I wasn't dealing with that employee after the phone conversation, just the manager. I understand I made the mistake of not modifying my burger but the staff there seems as if they wanted to scold me for it. It's funny because when restaurants mess up an order we have to deal with the inconvenience of reordering, coming back, or simply not eating, but when a customer messes up an order they feel the need to make us feel like a criminal trying to steal a burger from them, ridiculous!! I live in the neighborhood adjacent to this location so I come VERY often, but I'm definitely going to stop for a while.
