    Our choice for fast food
    John K.

Burgerville is our destination of choice for fast food, and our most recent visit was prompted by their neighborly donation of a percentage of that day's income to a nearby nonprofit. The shakes remain the highlight for me. It's nice to know I can count on them for quality meals and for them being quality people. Bright, primary colors make for a pleasant place to enjoy a quick meal.

12/22/2024 - The décor is pretty awful and the fish sandwich was a piece of fish that was half the bun size.

Yikes! Here's the thing - I forgot that this location existed but happened to be near here with a friend seeing a play. We were very hungry and had some time before the next thing we were going to. I suggested Burgerville because she was wanting to try some of their holiday menu. We get there and I had concerns even just going in because the place looked like it had not been cleaned or remodeled since the 80s. I was like its fine, we are already here and do not have long to eat as it is. I ordered a simple fish sandwich, small fry and a large cherry coke. I realized (after getting to the table) that they did not give me a cup for the cherry coke. They pulled it out and said that the machine out was likely not working... Then said that they could use the one for the drive through. Which is just so strange that I had to go through all that since they know that the machine is broken so when I ordered a drink why did that not get discussed then. When I got my food, I was shocked that the fish piece was half the size of the bun that it was on and the lettuce looked really gross and slimy. If you are charging me twice the amount as a fish sandwich elsewhere, I get that it is local/better but can you at least fill the sandwich?? Because honestly it did not taste like the price. The meal was over $16 and I have paid $18 at a restaurant for a 3 piece fish and chips... My friend I was with is vegan and was having to grill the person as to what was vegan because he kept just saying he 'thinks so' about things being vegan. Another person working there nearby kept correcting him saying that he was wrong and toppings on several of the vegan things were not vegan. She took forever just to get her stuff ordered as a result. Then she got her food and was taking it back because her fries were dry and stale (like they were sitting out a long time) and her shake was ridiculously too sweet. This was my first time having a truly horrible experience at a Burgerville location but I had never been in this one before.

First time going to a burgerville. It's not not. It's just another fast food burger place but they have a strawberry shake that is made with Oregon Strawberries. The shake was good. The waffle fries remind me if chick-fil-a French fries with a little more crisp and a lot more salt. They could really ease up on the salt as you can see a lot on the top waffle fry. It was a little pricey for a fast food place but it was definitely the shakes that are a splurge. I mean it was okay. I would go back for a shake for sure.

What it should have looked like

Yes, I ran late at work and grabbed fast food. The halibut fish sandwich was $8.99. It was not anything like the photo, overcooked/dry and sad. I should have just gone to McDonald's vs trying to eat something that should have been better quality. Burgerville has definitely fallen down in quality. Don't bother going here.

I came here with a party of 3. Private parking lot was almost full but there were some spots left. The drive-thru line was extremely long so we decided to dine in. The line on the inside was just as bad. The server said that two people recently quit that day and they were badly understaffed. The place was extremely dirty and the food was only decent. I will go to a casual dining place instead of here.

Between the genuinely friendly hospitality and the flavor combinations, this spot hits it out of the park and is a must for sandwich lovers. Griddled Mortadella (5/5): An incredibly delicious sandwich that perfectly balances rich, salty, and savory flavors. It comes loaded with a generous portion of grilled mortadella and melted provolone cheese, perfectly moistened with a tangy mustard aioli. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.

My daughter and I shared the Willamette Reuben and her friend ordered the Italian Flag. We shared the Lardo fries. Oh man, the Reuben was perfection! The flavor of the meat and everything on the sandwich, from texture to flavor--chef's kiss! We heard that the Italian Flag was excellent too. Definitely, you can share a sandwich especially if you're having fries. The fries were delicious--crispy and flavorful on the outside, perfectly hot and mushy on the inside. Yum!

There's also plenty of seating outside and covered tent seating. It took about 12-15 minutes for the food to be served which was ideal. IMO. This BBQ is Kansas City style, so the sauce is a bit sweeter. We got the brisket, the chicken wings, and sides. We couldn't decide if on the sauce for the wings, so we got all 3 on the side. The Alabama white sauce was A+ The brisket was perfectly tender. It had great flavor and marbling. The wings are full wings with the drummette attached. That's the way to do it! They are smoked and then fried. They got the crisp just right. Let's talk about sides! We got the collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans. They were all FANTASTIC! The coleslaw is a vinegar coleslaw, which I love. It wasn't the sweet mayonnaise style that most people don't enjoy. It was so good! The collard greens were perfectly flavored and tender! I couldn't have done better myself. The beans were sweet but also savory. Not super sweet, which makes me happy. Very well balanced. The server was super friendly and nice. She explained everything to us and made sure we were happy. They have a bar with various beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual but perfect for BBQ.
