I usually love Burgerville food. I've never been unsatisfied. But today, I came in during a super busy time (around 6:00). I ordered a half pound colossal burger. I got a burger with a stale, flat bun. There was so much extra mayo that I needed two napkins to get all the extra off. I was starving, so I was going to force it down, but the taste of the meat was so strange that I decided it wasn't worth the risk of food poisoning. This location is off my list now. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since I read about what an ethical fast food company they are in Fast Food Nation. Finally, on a road trip I had the chance. We had burgers, pepper bacon and cheeseburger, chicken tenders, seasonal onion rings, fries, berry milkshakes, and chocolate banana milkshakes. All of it was excellent. Service was excellent, everyone was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the cost, but it is a true reflection of what real food and treating your employes well SHOULD cost. read more

This store always delivers quality food. The best thing about burgerville is the seasonal selections, such as the can't beat Walla Walla onion rings or the hazelnut chocolate milkshakes. Knocked down one star because they consistently forget to put the sauce for rings and such into the bag. After reading the last review, I just had to put in my two cents. First, Burgerville was compared to places like McDonalds, Burger King, Dairy Queen, and Wendy's. None of these fast food chains are in the same league as Burgerville. It IS technically a fast food joint, but it is one unique to the northwest, similar to Steak N' Shake back east or something of that sort. It was also compared to Red Robin, TGIF, and Applebees. Again, none of these are in the same league. Those are all family restaurants and will charge you like family restaurants. Now, what IS Burgerville? It is the perfect fast food place for the 'green' northwest. Their food is all sustainably grown. Even their cups and packaging is all compost able (from the paper bags to the corn plastic forks). Not only is their food local produce, seasonal items and all, but it is sustainably and organically farmed. As to the taste of the food and the quality of the presentation, you won't find any place that has salads as fresh as any of the Burgerville standards, nor will you find hamburgers of such quality that don't come with a MUCH higher price tag. So, my final feelings on Burgerville, it is by no means a 'family restaurant' like Red Robin, but I feel the food is easily on par if not surpassing theirs. If you don't believe me, just wait for their Walla Walla Onion Rings, or their Pumpkin Milkshakes to come in season. A last testament to the power of Burgerville, a friend, years ago, saw a sign in AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND that said "15000 miles to the Next Burgerville." If this restaurant is truly only worth a couple of stars, how is it that for being a local northwest food join, they have people across the world that know and love it? 'Nough said! read more

These guys were alright. They just happened to be the closest restaurant to us that was open. The food was ok, it's not a restaurant that I went home and told all my friends about. It reminded me of McDonalds but the only difference was they sold alcohol. They also had an option for ordering rosemary fries which were pretty good but not great. One good thing that they have that I would recommend to people is there mocha milkshake. It was made with real ice cream and real mocha flavoring. I like the fact that it did not just come out of a machine. They made it like how people made milkshakes in the old days. I make it a point to go to Burgerville when I'm in Oregon or Washington...and it never fails. This location was clean, fast and friendly. Clean bathrooms - huzzah! Burger was lovely - just got a burger with Tillamook cheese, nothing special. Their seasonal shake was a chocolate hazelnut. I skipped out, but now that I think about it...I should've gotten one! Just got bacon breakfast bagel sandwiches with the wife (we always go for the burgerville breakfast if we're out, but normally get the ham or sausage) and have never seen something more pathetic - this isn't our usual BV stop though. I had one very small piece of bacon that didn't cover even one half of the bagel - the ham is usually two pieces that are each over half the coverage of the bagel. And while I waited, I watched one burger assembler slowly assemble sandwiches and also cough without covering his mouth on them. Luckily, my burgers were going down the other side. Also, some guy came in with a 20% off coupon and they couldn't honor it because they "didn't have a 20% button". Nothing against this specific location. I tried the food on 3 separate occasions from 3 different locations. Same story at each: the food is overpriced junk. Burgers are sloppy and tasteless. My wife had a sausage, cheese and egg english muffin that she really enjoyed, though she found a piece of gristle in it. Burgerville is one of the few things I wish we had in Western Washington. Food is always good, and the shakes are awesome. Doesn't give off a fast food vibe at all, more like an express Red Robin. This location has plenty of parking, and dining inside is recommended, as the drive-thru is always backed up to the street. read more

How I heard of this place: When I was in High School, a carload of friends and I were on our way to Portland for the Regional Basketball Finals. Chrissy, Kathy and Angel recommended we make a stop at the awesome burger joint. Nearly every trip I make to the Portland area now consists of at least one stop at Burgerville (though it had been nearly a decade since I had last sampled the fare). Type of cuisine: Burgers and fries. According to the Burgerville website they are also Fresh. Local. Sustainable. Ambiance: Fast food restaurant with order counter and plenty of seating throughout the establishment. Booth seating as well as chair/table seating is available, as well as combinations of the two. Fluorescent lights abound! What I ordered: I ordered my usual: the pepper bacon cheeseburger ($5), made with country natural beef, pepper bacon, Tillamook cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce, onions, pickles and ketchup on a sesame seed bun. One of my four dining companions ordered the half pound colossal cheeseburger ($5), made with a country natural beef patty, American cheese, the special Burgerville spread, ketchup, pickles, tomato and lettuce on a sesame seed bun. He also selected a strawberry milkshake with which to wash it down! Our third dining companion ordered a meal which included fries and a drink. Her sandwich of choice: the turkey club sandwich made with sliced turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise on a wheat Kaiser bun. The native NW person I am, loves Burgerville when commuting from Eugene & Portland to Tacoma & Seattle. This is my favorite quick foodie stop, the only drink I ever order is a TIMBER JOEY SMOOTHIE. (The smoothie part comes from my healthy ways, getting YoCream and not ice cream =smoothie not milkshake) Normally it's not on the menu but it's minty-Oreo goodness makes my drive a little more peaceful. As far as fast food goes, this place is the tops. Blackberry shakes, excellent burgers, Tillamook cheese, beer and wine. Good service with a sweet older lady offering to do everything except wipe my mouth for me after taking a bite of my delicious burger. This location could use more comfortable outdoor seating and quieter music (why must all restaurants have a live concert!). Overall, Burgerville is a must do when you have a craving to eat your weight in grams of fat. read more

I decided to downgrade my review to 3-stars after finding out most of their burgers contain transfat :( After looking at the pamphlet I realized transfat is in nearly everything. It's hard to pinpoint what ingredient has it (so you can ask them to hold that ingredient, if possible). I will still enjoy a good Burgerville burger once in a blue moon. If I eat fast food it is Burgerville as I love their fries and seasonal menu...however being I am now on my "lose 5lbs before Christmas so I can gain it back over holidays" phase I ordered the grilled chicken salad. the picture on the menu showed a nice beautiful salad with grilled chicken, tomatoes, and looked filling.... instead I got what you see below.....5 small chunks of chicken, 1 tomato.... all crammed into a small to go box barely big enough to add dressing and mix it together. Stopping by for a quick bite on a road trip through Washington, we found that Burgerville was like a fresher Burger King. It is a pretty standard fast-food restaurant, aside from a few unique items. The Walla-Walla Onion Rings were large and delicious, but it was quite pricey for a side. The blackberry smoothie/milkshake was nice and creamy. The salmon salad was made with fresh greens and a large portion of smoked salmon. It was a decent lunch, and it was a nice experience for newbies to the Northwest to try out the local chain. read more

I have lived in Oregon and Washington my entire life and had never been to Burgerville, so I figured that I would try it. BIG MISTAKE! First they messed up my wife's burger by shorting her a hamburger pattie. Then I had ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with no tomato. I got two slices of tomato. Next, we had ordered a large side of fries. When the server brought our food to us there were no fries. I stated to the young lady that we had ordered fries she insulted us by stating that they rang it up wrong and that if we wanted to pay for them she would bring them to us. I quickly showed her our receipt that clearly showed we paid for an order of fries. No apology just went and got the fries and dropped them on the table. I grew up with Burgerville USA always near by. The only one I will eat at is the flagship restaurant in Salmon Creek. I will not eat at other locations. Lloyd Center forget it, the tables are never clean there. Fourth Plain in Vancouver, scary. The regular Tillamook Bacon Cheese Burger is a classic, and the fries are decent. I love that they have seasonal foods and a good salad selection. They have health benefits for their employees and they seem to employ a nice variety of folks who are always friendly and greet with a smile. Oh and they seem to be going green more and more. So add these few things up and I don't mind paying a little more for some fast food. read more

First of all, finding a fast food place that sells beer at all was a unique experience for us. This place sells GOOD beer, local craft brews. The burger was good, the fries were so-so, the service was friendly and prompt. Excellent fish and chips plate, the fish is crisply on the outside and white and flakey inside; the place is clean and staff is friendly.

I gave 5 stars, because when it comes to a fast food joint this is as good as it gets. I lived away from Burgerville's service area for twenty years, and in the meantime they changed from a second rate fast food chain into the best I've eaten at. One of the new (new to me, at least... it's been 20 years!) is the rotating monthly or quarterly specialties - all of which are of high quality and inventiveness, inspired by locally available agriculture. Some of my favorites from this group of offerings: - Yukon Gold waffle fries: These just melt in your mouth. When fresh and crispy, I can't think of better fried fast food potatoes. - Turkey club with apples & goat cheese (I think). - Pulled pork sandwich (!) with local cherries (!?!) - Deluxe chicken sandwich with pear chutney In addition to these inventions, there's the regular 'deluxe' menu, which is all really good (the ones featured with photos behind the counter). The deluxe chicken sandwich is my favorite of these - it's the best fast food crispy chicken sandwich I've had, with bacon, bbq sauce, the special spread and a fantastic grainy/seedy bun. Yum! I also enjoy the pepper bacon cheeseburger and the Anasasi Spicy bean burger - even though I'm not a vegetarian, this last one is a treat in and of itself. Then you have the 'regular' burgers and fries - all of which taste a lot better than they did 20 years ago. Even your basic small cheeseburger is far superior to any similar level you'd have at McDonalds, Burger King, Carls, etc. Other than the food, there is more to enjoy about Burgerville. They endeavor to serve local interests and use local ingredients, for what that's worth. Kind of nice. The movement towards more compostable packaging (just recently they started using compostable drink lids - who would have thought?) means a lot less waste in the dumpster/landfills, again - for what that's worth. I compost at home, so it's nice to know that I can toss empty wrappers in my bin rather than in the trash! And finally, the service is top-notch - every experience I've had has been at worst, polite - and at best, extremely helpful and friendly. I've seen more sincere-looking smiles and courtesy at Burgerville, it makes me want to make the effort to be friendly back - which was unheard-of where I used to live. Bottom line - if I'm in the mood for fast food, Burgerville is my go-to every time. read more

This one is the best burger like in the Vancouver, WA area. It's huge and they serve more than the standard Burgerville's around here. There is a larger area to sit and hang out, it's more culturally active, and the staff is actually better. Wish all other Burgerville's were just about as badass as this one. read more
