First off this company is amazing! We had an appointment scheduled for the following weekend but when we had our AC unexpectedly shut off. We struggled to find someone to come out sooner. But when I contacted Burgerson, I explained my circumstances of my family (including a toddler) living in these conditions during the heat weave, they accommodated me very quickly. The receptionist who was kind and generous was able to find a technician ASAP. Our technician Juan Munoz came the same day and was quick to solve the problem! He was an outstanding technician! Wanted to have a generator installed, and on the recommendation of a friend, I gave Burgeson's a call. Even though I'm far outside of their service area, they came out expediently, and assessed our home to determine a quote. We moved ahead with the installation, and I cannot say enough good things about the employees and service with this company. Everyone I spoke with was extremely kind and professional, and responded very quickly to inquiries. The generator was up and running in 4 days, and the gentlemen who installed it took the time to explain how everything works. They even did several extra jobs for me at no charge. Technician was very professional and went beyond normal efforts to inspect furnace. Also gave complete assessment of overall condition of furnace. Very detailed. Luckily did not require replacement. There is a reason Burgeson's has attained iconic, institutional status in Redlands! I've been a customer at two locations in this city for 40 years now. A tad expensive, yes, but always professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and effective. Their annual or semi-annual heating & A/C maintenance service is highly recommended; we rarely need repairs as a result. In our current home for 20+ years and have only had one unexpected outage of our heater and never for A/C. I received a call about an hour ago from Adam, the electrician, who stated he was reaching out because he received an email from the office regarding my Yelp review. He stated he wanted to talk and discuss any misinterpretations of the visit, but his tone was rude and the call felt more like an attack instead. He reiterated that our panel is overloaded and needed to be replaced completely. He explained what the quote included and the reason for the price; I explained to him that other companies had done assessments and disagreed. He stated he did perform an assessment of our attic - which is incorrect because he only went into our storage attic, which doesn't connect to our actual attic and there is a literal wall separating the two. Yes, it was raining that day and we do ask workers to wear booties in the home - but there was no explanation during the visit about why it was being skipped and then to argue over the phone that he was able to visually inspect our attic while he was in the storage attic is absurd. I mentioned that I was at dinner and he asked to call back tomorrow at a different time. I asked what is the goal of the call at this point, and that's when it became even more condescending, to where my spouse took over the call and asked that he not contact us again and hung up. It was a very uncomfortable call. I was trying to be as polite as I could, but given his demeanor over the phone and just overall experience tonight, we will not be using Burgeson's services any longer. read more

After deciding to replace my 32 year old system, I began the somewhat daunting task of finding a reasonable and trustworthy HVAC contractor. The first company quoted me an outrageous price, and when I balked, they offered to bring it down or match the lowest bid. Nope! About a 1 month ago we had a tech come out to check on our AC unit which was blowing weak warm air and making a strange sound. They cleaned it up, told us a piece of the housing was vibrating and gave it a clean bill of health. Fast forward a month later the AC goes out. We call a different company to check it out and they showed us the compressor had amped out, something froze and the ac unit need cleaning badly. I'll give 3 stars for customer service which was prompt and friendly, but if they had just checked out the unit and let us know we needed a repair we would not be stuck in this mess during a heatwave. read more

We had this company come out to our home for the first time in May to service our air conditioner. When my husband called to schedule that appointment, the ladies were very nice, courteous and informative, explaining their membership plan and what it entails. This was the option we chose to go with and glad we did as we had another issue with our unit and had to call them out again. No trip charge( $109.00) to come out and a15% discount on the part that needed replacing. Our unit was fixed that same day in a matter of 15 minutes, and after 2 days with no air conditioner was a blessing! When I called the second time they gave me a window time in the afternoon / early evening, which they called later the same day to offer an earlier time, awesome! The day of they called again, to see if the technician could come even earlier as he was ready to go! Needless to say we were thankful that he was ready. Both visits from Burgeson's technicians were great. Both very knowledgeable and informative about what was going on with our unit, each visit were separate issues. Good job guys !! Manager Genevieve - horrible customer service I am a member at Costco and decided to use Burgeson's services as they had specials for members. I had a technician come out to check my unit as it smelled strange when I ran the AC. The tech said I needed to replace the Circuit board for $500. I notice I was charged $99 more but did not notice until I checked my statement. I had my sister call as I was out of town and Genevieve was rude and fought my sister over the phone about the undisclosed charge. We let it go. 2 months later I used the heater and had a new burning smell so I turned the unit off and opened the door to see if it was smoking or to see if the circuit board was installed incorrectly. I notice that a brown wire was dangling and exposed, I was very worried, so I called. I asked if they could come back out to "CHECK" if the job was done properly and or if I might need a SERVICE on the unit. They said it would be $118 if they think i needed the unit serviced. The new tech came out and said the wire was fine because it was not needed and to service the unit is very easy to do and that I could do it myself with a wet rag. As that is all he would do. He said he wasn't going to charge me but he had better make sure with his manager if there would be any other fees. He explained that there was a charge to CHECK the unit. I said but over the phone Genevieve said there wouldn't be a charge if the tech finds something wrong that the last tech did. I could of argued that the last tech didnt complet the job by cutting or crimping the extra wire that might of caused an electrical problem from being exposed and that the 2nd tech did nothing. He said he had to charge me and that I could call a manager to be refunded later if I talk to someone. I received in the mail THAT day a flyer explaining they were having a 70 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL for a "CHECK & SERVICE" reg $118 now $70. If that was the case and knowing I was upset about the situation why wouldn't I be told about this lower price and for both Check & Service especially knowing I'm a returning customer. I called and once again talked to GENEVIEVE MGMT and I asked why I was charged the $99 if the tech did nothing and I declined the extra service charge of $118 and why I was not told about the $70 special. She said because the tech did a diagnostic. I said what's the difference between a "CHECK" and diagnostic (it's the samething). Her reply was do u want to schedule a service for $118. Why would I pay more especially if I just told her about the special. She said that the special was for a selected few. Well I got the flyer the same day and I'm the "selected few" so I should of got the service portion as I paid for the "CHECK". Or at the very least get a $20 refund. So, the reason for the one star is for the rude demeanor from Genevieve, for the lack of working with a returning customer and for not honoring the special they advertised. Horrible customer service, horrible communication and false advertisement. I forgot to mention that the circuit board I replaced the first time I got charged $500 for was on Amazon for $30 and could of easily replaced myself. Thanks Burgeson's for screwing me twice. I had a broken blower motor on my furnace. I told the scheduler on the phone and they sent out a tech the next day. He checked the motor and agreed, bad blower motor on an older system. He went to his truck and got the quote together for the motor- $860. The part is easy to find on the internet for under a $100 but I figured, hey, they came out and can just get it done, I'll let them make some money and save some hassles. As he gets ready to start work on it he remembers, "Oh yeah, I need to run and safety check on your system to make sure it's safe to operate." I saw exactly where this was headed and told him I had no interest in a new system, fix it or leave now. He assured me it was no big deal and he would go get the part as soon as he was done. Then 15 minutes later he showed me a picture of a weld on the heat exchanger and said it was probably cracked and the entire system needed to be replaced- but no worry, today only he could get me a great deal on one. Shady. After I quickly escorted him out I called another company who verified it was not cracked and he was just trying to sell a new system. Lame. I won't make that mistake again. read more

My AC was 23 years old and no longer blowing cold air. My house is 50 years old and we did 2 additions so we needed larger airducts and a bigger unit. I got bids from several places and Burgeson's was cheaper than Goettl and comparable to other business. They took 2 full long days to complete my new larger AC system. John and Dave did an excellent job. They showed up on time and were very nice people. I had my small dogs in a room with water and I went to run errands and John saw they were out of water and refilled it. I thought that was very kind and considerate. I am very happy with the financing and my new AC is awesome. They made suggestions about how I could increase the airflow. They called me before making more vents to increase the airflow. I highly recommend Burgeson's. I did it through Costco and am getting money back from Costco and will be able to get some tax credits for updating old system. read more

In September of 2021 I had a major re-ducting of my existing house supply venting along with the addition of a new split wall air conditioner. The split wall unit was put in place as a back up to the main heating and air-conditioning system. During this past winter I had a need for some quick heat, from the split heat pump air conditioning, and when I attempted to use the heat function it was barely putting out any heat, since it was extremely cold-thought maybe it was just too cold and turned off the split unit. Fast forward to June 2022, with the arrival of a hot summer day in Arrowhead, I turned on the split air conditioning only to find out that it would only blow hot air in both heating and air-conditioning modes. It was another big surprise since I had spent considerable $$$ to have this installed by a company who I fully trust and historically do great work. Today's technician came out and told me that the unit had lost all of its Freon so naturally it would not work. He added a dye to the unit and refilled the Freon with the goal of finding the leak that caused the total loss of my Freon (can't be good for the environment) Within a few minutes the technician found that one of the flare fittings from the original install date was not tightened properly, I think in a few places, and was probably the culprit for the loss of all Freon. I remember back to the original install days, when they did the major work on my home ducting, and installed-this new split air conditioning, it took 2 full days. Toward the end of the installation, on day two, think the guys wanted to get home and they may have overlooked tightening some of the fittings ?? resulting in the Freon link I just experienced. So I guess the lesson here is when you're getting a new air conditioner ask the installers if they have double checked the tightened all of the fittings so that there won't be any future Freon leaks. Further, I think it would be a really nice touch if Fergusons would make one post installation visit to do a quality control check on the workmanship. Due to the suspected problems with the original installers I now need to take of two days to be available to meet with the technicians. I certainly have no animosity towards Fergusons, I think they are an excellent company, but if they could add some quality control measures to their service, especially for new construction and total system replacement, could make their company function even better and make for totally satisfied customers. read more
