You can definitely find so much things there that beats half the price of what you can buy out there at the malls. One thing though, At times it can be a bit messy, clothing on the floor, dirt that is visible that makes me sneeze at times, Bathrooms there are not to clean at times, and sometimes when I need help looking for what I need, the workers there look at me and then pretend they never saw me which that disappoints. This is one of the few places still open in the Chula Vista mall. It's sad to see mall fall apart with all the closed stores. I was surprised to see how clean and organized this BCF was. They have security at both entrances/exits. They also have sanitizing wipes and soap for you to use. I did see some empty shelves and less merchandise than before but this is normal for many stores. They had a great selection of cosmetics and ladies/ men's clothes. Prices are always very reasonable here. The escalator was down and being repaired so you had to use the elevator. There was a line most of the time when going up or down. Even though it was quite busy the lines moved pretty quickly and unlike other places they had plenty of employees to help. They even had help wanted sign so they are adding more employees as well. I hope they stay open at the mall, it's nice to have a discount store in the area. read more

I waited in line for 45 mins. Only 2 registers open & at least 50 people in line. I haven't been to this store in a long time & It appears they've extended the line & opened more registers. But for what? They only have 2 people working it! A few people left the line but it didn't make a difference because it was still extremely slow. This is worse than the DMV. I really do love this place it's a great story but the one in in the Chula to shopping center is a bit of it's not anything like it used to be it's a mess now is missing is disorganized and and the service people aren't very much help when you go when you want to look find something in fact they no help at all they no longer have a restroom and the line is a really super long wait but they do have a nice selection of clothing for men women and children in that place. This is probably my favorite Burlington around. This one is located in the Chula Vista Center off Broadway and H street (well I street is closer). This location has plenty of parking in their 2 story parking garage, shaded, electric stations available and entrance from upstairs or downstairs. Shaded and non-shaded parking. This location is staffed with security, dont be alarmed. This location has a vast majority of women's clothes! Definitely browse the clearance rack, alway a find or two! I normally get my Italian shoes (dressy) here as they are a fraction of the cost. The mens selection, is quite vast as well. Came here for specific clothing and was able to find some rather quickly. The downfall is the dressing room is not always open, not sure if it is because they are short staffed or just not allowing entrance... this last visit, it was open luckily. I came here quite early and 3 people in line in front of me were there early to do returns. Unfortunately they are so under staffed that the same person doing returns was also the only one checking out people too. About 10-15 minutes of waiting and someone going to speak with management (as it should be their main job to assist and help their employees) another cashier came on board in front. It did not appear to be a shortage of employees, but maybe shortage for those trained on the cash register? I waived between 3 and 4 stars because while the staff is apologic and friendly, they are slow and when the line is super long... expect a good 25 minute wait AT LEAST! This should be unacceptable for any manager, they should be jumping on the register to help out during rush hour, long lines... but instead you find 10 registers with 2 people working on them. My friends and I stopped by this Burlington on our way back home because we had to use the bathroom. Little did we know that the bathroom would be on the 2nd floor until I asked someone. After we found the bathroom, we were going to take the escalator down but it was broken so using the elevator would be the next option. There was a long line for just the 1 elevator they had so we walked out the door to go to the parking garage to use the steps there to go to the 1st level. I was able to walk around the store while looking for the bathroom. The place is organized and had tons of stuff but if you go to the 2nd floor then you'll get stuck. read more

I don't really buy clothes here but I do enjoy their candle and gourmet food section. I like their candles because they are big and are half off. One of my friend's the other day was mentioning how candles at Bath and Body Works went up to $25 so I told her about Burlington. The average candle I buy here is $7.99. While I'm here I will also go to their snack food section which is always fun because I like trying new things. DANGER - YOU MAY GET TRAPPED ON THE SECOND FLOOR!!!!! This place must be run by idiots. The staff is nice but DONT GO TO THE SECOND FLOOR. The merchandise there is nice but there's no cashier and there's no escalator to go down. You're in the Twilight Zone on your own. The one elevator that goes from the second floor to the first had a line that took 20 minutes. It was mostly filled with strollers which is fine but that's the only way to get down stairs with merchandise. Then I had to WAIT ANOTHER 15 MINUTES to pay on the first floor. I GAVE UP! read more

I am disappointed and also furious that I have to write this review. This location has been a solid middle of the road three star experience for a coule of months. Based on my total experience in the San Diego area (see my profile for details on the reviews I am writing), three stars is way above the average "treat me like I am a criminal who is going to pocket merchandise any second and make sure I feel dehumanized by the time I leave" customer service standard I can't seem to get use to. The good: There is a morning loss prevention employee as well as late night loss prevention employee who greet me like a human, smile and say goodbye, and other than that they leave me alone. However, I have to subtract two stars because the bad outweighs the good. There are some good finds if you take the time to look! Unfortunately, with the amount of mechandise they have (good) and the disorganization (not necessarily entirely their fault, but lots of piles on shelves and the floor), if you are looking for something specific or of a certain caliber, it's like thrift shopping at Goodwill - you have to go through everything to find the outstanding stuff. I like shopping and I don't know when the act of shopping became a reason to treat someone poorly. If a third of their boxers are on the floor and my husband is a small in some brands like Saxx, a medium in Nike, and can sometimes wear a large in Pair of Theives --I might have to crouch down and look through the pile to find the one Pair of Theives he would like. The problem is that spending time in a section means you'll have an employee dusting the shelf next to you (regardless that the items on the shelf are a mess!) and they will continue to stay with you (asking if you need help, and giving you a look as if you are their first born) until you pay or leave. I have found Zoo York socks for $2.99 and even .98 because I took the time. I've also found Stance socks for .98 cents - pairs that run $14.99-19.99 at Target. This location is disorganized with lots of merchandise scattered on the floor (electronics, men's boxers, men's health and grooming, men's wallets, makeup, and jewelry). My observations come from four visits - three of which I bought things from men's socks (Stance socks range from 98 cents to 5.99, Zoo York socks .98-9.99), makeup palates (got to dig for the good ones), lipstick and glosses, charging cords, wall-plug-ins, and a Betsy Johnson wallet. On Monday the 8th I bought a handful of socks from them. I had about four employees/lost prevention following me the whole time. It was really stressful! They called the cops and after I paid the woman who was standing at the door letting people in and out stole my phone. I realized my phone was gone about 20 seconds later and turned around, knocking on the window. She cracked the door, but wouldn't let me in. Before I could even finish my sentence asking her if it was at the register or in the cart she replied "it's not". I nicely asked if she could check or let me check and mid-sentence she walked away and whispered to a guy who is also loss prevention and he came to the door and said "what do you want?". After I told him everything he said "make sure to call in the morning". I did call. Their manager hung up on me five times. By the sixth time she said she would call me back in an hour after she watched the register videos from the night before. She never called. No one has responded to y message that "find my phone" has it at Burlington! I'm going in tonight to hopefully get my phone! Also, afterward at the trolley there was a girl who said they grabbed her bag and took her phone too! WTF Burlington! read more

I had some items I needed to return this Tuesday morning. 9:30 to be exact. The cashier. KRYSTAL is her name. Rude and disrespectful, she had a aditude as soon as I walked up to her. She looked at my return and rudely said you didn't buy these items here, I said no I bought them from your other location. Well I am not accepting the return because it's not our merchandise. I asked a sales person if they had a restroom they said yes. Second floor. I got there and it had to be opened by a staff. I found a staff person who asked another staff person to open it but I noticed she told her to tell me there were not open "in Spanish ". I confronted both of them. I asked for a manager. As I found another staff person to call manage. The first staff announced to other staff people in the store walkie talky to agree to tell me no restrooms available. I agree with the other reviewers: This location is hugely, hugely disorganized and the inventory is significantly lacking. However, if you are male-identified and seeking a suit for any formal or semi-formal occasion, it seems this location keeps you in mind. I was impressed with the range of clothing options -- suits, shirts, ties and shoes -- in the male department. Sales on shoes and electronic items also seem fairly regular. Everything is the pits. And good luck finding an associate, save the cashiers. But who wants to stand in the checkout line just to ask a single question. This place needs a serious revamp. Great location, though. read more

I walked in for maybe five minutes and after being profiled and yes I just came from another store which I had the receipt for all the stuff I came in with.. after offering to provide the receipt and empty the bags they still decided to refuse service to me. I just returned home from deployment hoping to get a few things but instead of getting customer service got served with injustice, pain and suffering all do to someone saying they saw put something in my bag or did the see me re adjust it since it fell on the floor. I also found a Frozen outfit for my daughter to wear at the girl's birthday party. I find some cool items here such as dresses, shoes and cute name brand bags for less. This store can be a little messy and disorganized but there are so much cool stuff I have found. They remind me of a Ross's cause they sell food items in boxes. I saw some dark chocolate chip cookies, red velvet coffee mix and so much stuff for the home. They also sell kids clothes, toys and jewelry. I can do serious damage at this store but I only picked up what I needed. I always stop by here if we are at the Chula Vista mall. You can find great deals at the clearance racks. The lines to pay for your stuff can be long. One lady was holding up the line for trying to return items she got as a gift. Expect a long wait in line. read more

All the checkouts were open, and although you're a good distance from the cashier.. You're literally standing next to the people paying at the register next to you. The cashiers all have walls between each other, as well as plexiglass between the customers and themselves, however, there were absolutely no kind of separation between customers. No distance at all being enforced, and after paying for your items, you have to walk through the crowd to reach the exit door, which is on the other side of the entry door.. So, you're literally walking through people as they're entering the store. There's absolutely no kind of crowd flow, nor social distance rules being enforced at this store. There were numerous people in the store not wearing a mask at all, and when I brought it to one of the employees attention, she just looked at her, and kept walking. I will not be coming back to this location for awhile. Evidently, they're more worried about their sales than they are about the safety of their customers. read more

I usually need 2x shirts and it's hard to find big men's clothes. Just about all the Burlington stores have a section for the big man. I like this location. It has a good selection for the clothes I'm looking for. Plus the price is very reasonable. Nice place to shop. Plenty of parking nearby. I like that they blast the AC during warmer days. Only real negative is this location gets really busy. They even have up to full employees running the registers and it's still very crowded. Automatic FAIL! A jacket was given to me for my birthday (August) and so I recently decided to wear it. I know it was 3 months after the purchase but it wasn't that cold in September through mid December. Anyone in SD can vouch that it JUST started getting cold. Anyways, I pulled the jacket out of my closet and put it on. After examining it, I noticed that the security tag was not taken off! Since it has been months ago, I freaked out a bit. My friend, who had bought the jacket, did not have the receipt anymore. And I know he didn't steal the jacket because I was there when he bought it. He allowed me to choose my birthday present to assure that I would love it. I called the following day and spoke to someone on the phone about the dilemma. They informed me that I can come in and tell customer service to remove the tag. I was afraid the tag would set off the alarm but she said that if it didn't go off when we left the store, it shouldn't go off when I come back. Guess what? The alarms went off! I went to customer service and stood in line for a good 20 minutes. When it was finally my turn, I told the employee what had happened. She said couldn't take the tag off without the receipt but I informed her that I spoke to someone the day before and they said the store would. She made a call to Loss Prevention and they had her look up the serial #. She asked me when I had made the purchased and I told her it was around my birthday in August. I was going to tell her August or September, because I really didn't remember which month, but she spoke before I did and said she couldn't take the tag off because it was September, not August. Of course, I told her that it was one month apart.. BIG DEAL? She still said she wouldn't be able to remove the tag. My last question, "So, am I just supposed to walk around with my jacket with a security tag?" She said, "Yes, because I can't remove it." She gave me a look like it wasn't her problem. I'm sure she just hates her job at Burlington and was giving me a hard time about it. First off, if your employee had removed the tag from the GET GO, I wouldn't have this problem. Now you can't remove a tag because I don't have proof of purchase??? Of course I don't have proof! It was a freakin present! What a waste of time and $$$. Make sure you check the security tags after your purchase since employees here will sleep on that! They will NOT remove the tags if you lose your receipt! Buyers beware! This store does NOT care about their customers. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! This is the last time I'm shopping here! read more

The other Yelper's who did a review on how bad this store is are 100% correct. The shoe section is always messy just messy just waiting for an accident to happen. I smell a law suit coming soon due to someone tripping over the size 13 tennis shoes placed right in the middle if the walk way. Their mens clothing selection is scarce. Everything seems to be out of place here. Sign says mens jeans but there's shorts and pj's hanging along side the jeans rack. What's up with that?
