What a disorganized mess! And the people working there don't know about babies or baby products! That was a wasted trip.

This has got to be the worst location that I have ever entered. When I spoke to a friend afterward, I compared the men's department to the toy aisle of wal-mart during christmas shopping. I asked for assistance with finding a suit and the guy couldn't even find where my size was racked. Then to top it off, my wife was hobbling around with a twisted ankle. She sat down while I was trying on a suit and was asked to leave the tailor/fitting area, because she might make men uncomfortable in front of the mirror. Seriously? Hi, I just love BURLINGTON at Gaithersburg. I bought a lovely pair of shoes about a month ago. THEY JUST FIT LIKE A GLOVE. Very sadly they ripped over the sewing line. Wow, this place is unbelievably trashy. it makes Marshalls look like a luxury store. the store is dirty, hot, and humid. The anti theft alarm in the storm was running constantly and the whole place just felt so depressing that we left before we even found the section we were looking for. read more

This place has a lot potential but it is trashy run down and needs a lot help.The cashiers are there and I say there very loosely one may argue they are present all in spirit but zero communication.The home department is a JOKE! they have great things but they sure do not organize this section.they have broken dishes still on the shelves.Torn packages scratched up things and oh do not get me started on the bedding most of them are out of the packages.If you see people walking around looking like they are making faces it's probably just funky in the store perhaps a mold problem who knows!?Do Not waist your time here during the summer it is sooo hot and smells like booty,they however try let me give credit where it's due they put on these two big fans next to the registers for the whole store nice...the clothes are cute but the store is so disorganized it's just hard and while we at it since Burlington is the coat factory how come I can't find one decent coat here hmmm no gotta do better folks! read more

Today me and my family went into Burlington and first thing that we experienced was the alarms you hear when you walk out with an unpaid for item. I was a little scared because it goes off unexpectedly and it's not pleasant because you can be at the other end of the store and hear it . Also, it's stays on for about five minutes. There's an upstairs but there's no way to get your cart up with you. We had to walk around the whole store until we found the elevator. The elevator barely fit my family and I with the cart(there were three of us). The line was atrocious. It rapped around the front of the store and took a little while. Then as we walk out the alarm goes off and I know for sure I paid for all my merchandise. There's a few things that can be fixed with this store but I did have good fines and will return again. read more

I tried getting some info on the phone from the Gaithersburg Baby Depot and had a terrible time: I had to keep calling back, about 5 times, only to be placed on hold each time to transfer to another department, to finally find out that they did not have what I was looking for. Awful, rude, unprofessional experience!!! I went to the fitting room to try on suits on 2/17 in the afternoon. The lady asked me how many items I was trying on. I then counted each item and replied six. She threw her hands up in the air and said it wasn't true and that I had two items on each hanger. I had six suits in my hand, which obviously have two pieces to each suit. She then walked away from me, left me standing there, and proceeded to yell to another worker. I stood there to listen to her say that the other woman would have to deal with me. I started getting irritated at this point at how I was being treated and the length of time it was taking. The other women, then approached me. The first woman acted as if I was trying to steal something. I explained that I didn't care how they wanted to count it and just wanted to try on the suits and asked if I could take three suits in (they called that six items) and then try on the rest. Helen looked at each suit and pointed out again that there are two items that I am trying to pass off as one and asked if I wanted to try on each piece of each suit. At this point I was visibly irritated and said that I would do whatever I had to, as long as I could just try on the suits. She said "fine, go ahead then" while letting go of the suits and pushing them into me after she was so at the time so intently counting each piece and then motioned for me to go in the fitting room. If I didn't want to get one of the suits so badly because of the great prices, I would have left. It doesn't end there. While I am trying on the suits, the two ladies talked about how they hated customers, how difficult is was dealing with them and how they'd rather work in any other department and no so subtlety talked about me. Then they launched into discussions about their co-workers. Really ladies?? The whole fitting room can hear you!! Not professional or courteous. I get that retail isn't easy but they could at least keep their comments quiet and not be so hostile towards customers. When I came out of the fitting room, I expected them to count each piece as they did giving me a hard time going into the fitting room. Nope. Neither of the ladies would look at me. I showed them that every item I took to the fitting room was there as they had counted several time in the 8 minute ordeal it took for me to be allowed to walk into the fitting room. The older woman with glasses, a visor, and Hawaiian green shirt laughed at me (the women I first encountered). I asked the ladies their names. One replied with her name and the other in the Hawaiian shirt replied raising her voice,...."why, what's your name, huh? Why don't you tell me your name. That's what I thought." I was so taken back. Wow. Never have I ever experienced such a rude hostile woman. She was not the sweet old lady she appeared to be and obviously had a problem with me and probably judged me for some reason as I didn't see her treat other customers that way. I informed the ladies I wanted to talk to a manager. I tried to find one and asked someone else to speak to one. I waited in line to pay for my suit. No one came to speak to me in the twenty minutes I waited in line to pay for my suit. There were only three people in front of me!! Poorly done Gaithersburg location. Judgmental, rude, and unprofessional. I'll stick to hitting up Marshall's or TJ Maxx. read more

Burlington is not for everyone. If you're expecting super clean and neat isles with sales people that want to kiss your ass, you may as well go to Nordstrom or Macy's. There's no room for snobs here. And based on the way I've seen customers treat the store employees, I'd say they have good reason to run from them. But I on the other hand, love Burlington. This store is one of the places like I've mentioned in other reviews, that my mom dragged me to, and I hated coming to as a child. But I can appreciate it's simplicity now. My fiance and I are moving in together and there's always some little treasure to find hidden on a self. And I can't complain about the prices. I bought a 20 pc. silverware set by Cambridge that was originally $13.99 on sale, and after my coupon I only paid $3.99. I'd say that's a pretty awesome deal. I've seen the same set for $20+ at Kohls and Target. I've also gotten really nice shower curtains, bed sheets, and toilet paper stands of great quality. My fiance also got some glass cup sets and jars for cereal. You just have to look and be patient. read more

Yesterday I went to Burlington in Gaithersburg Maryland and chose a dress I really liked, went to pay for the dress and the cashier could not get the security tag off so she asked for help. There were four other employees who tried to remove the tag for 15 minutes with no result, so I decide to leave the dress. Later I called back to the store to check to see if the tag was removed and I was told it was, so I asked if they could hold the dress for me and I will purchase it the next day, she said YES. I asked if the dress if the dress was damaged, she said No and asked for my name. I went back the next day and they told me the dress had been return to the floor. I located the dress and noticed the tag had been ripped off leaving a hole in the dress. I got no apologies for my time after I talked to the person who claimed to remove the tag from the dress, only from the person I asked to look for the dress with my name attached. This is horrible customer service which a customer should not have to go through. read more
