Now they are closing that location and tell her she must drive to suisun because it's within a specific distance of the Vacaville location. It's just not practical for her to drive that distance. Horrible customer service.

I have been a member of Lady Fitness in Vacaville for about a year and a half. I have never used…read morethe Suisun location, but I'm writing a review here just to warn potential members about the bad customer service I received. READ your contract, and ask lots of questions. They will enforce it whether it makes good business sense or not, in order to keep their bottom line. I signed on to Lady Fitness in Vacaville based on the fact that I wanted a small gym located close to my house where I could be a true club member and not just another face. After viewing the class offerings and the facilities, I decided to check into membership. It seemed like a small, personable gym. I was convinced by one of the managers to sign on for a three year contract. I was skeptical to do this, but the lady who signed me up said that I should make a long term commitment to my health. I figured she was right, and plus, signing on for three years gave me a better rate. After having my baby, the location of the gym was even more important to me. I started taking classes and signed up for personal training with their "Gravity" machines. I loved the workout and I really liked my trainer. I was making tons of progress, working out four nights a week, and finally started to see results. I had finally figured out a schedule that worked for my family. I was really excited that I was back into the groove. Right about that time, I got a letter in the mail stating that Lady Fitness in Vacaville was closing. The reasoning for this is that they were going to merge teh Suisun and Vacaville locations, as they were having a difficult year. The letter stated that all membership fees were to remain in effect through the end of the contract. This was as per a clause in the membership contract that states (paraphrased) "if this facility should shut down for whatever reason, you'll be transferred to another Lady Fitness Facility 10 miles away and the contract will stay the same." WELL, they enforced that to the T, since the Suisun location is 8.5 miles away from the Vacaville location. They even went as far as to include a Mapquest image at the bottom of the letter to "prove" it. This was a very big deal to me, as my house is located the opposite direction. With traffic, gas, and the location of my house considered, there is NO way I could do that. Being only HALFWAY through my contract, I either had the choice to pay the rest of the contract (over $500) and move on to another gym, or I could waste tons of gas and precious time driving to Suisun four days a week. When I called the manager, and explained my situation, she basically told me that my situation wasn't special or any different than anyone else's. She said they would offer me a "deal" to get out of my contract by paying half of the remaining balance. For me, this was $260. OUCH. It would have spoken well of the company and it's owners to allow members out of their contract without a fee, or for a more reasonable fee! Especially those who had signed up for a long-term contract. However, there were NO other negotiations. My husband even tried calling and was told basically "sorry." At the end of the day, we ended up paying $260 and went to Gold's, whose facilities are much larger, and whose management is far more personable and accommodating. Not only that, but I got a lower rate than what I was paying at Lady Fitness! Just DO NOT sign a long-term contract, and just know that it will be enforced whether it makes sense or not.

Last Fall, My wife and I took the introductory Pilates reformer training with Jeri. We enjoyed it (yes "enjoyed") so much we signed up for a second cycle this Spring since I cant make the classes. I just started swimming with Bree and am loving that too. I work in Sacramento and have a very hard time scheduling classes. Both Jeri and Bree have bent over backwards to work with me. I am notorious for starting and quitting gyms - but the Jeri and Bree are just the thing to keep me going.

When I requested to remove my teenager from our plan, I was charged a 75$ fee (more than what I was paying to have her on our membership). It feels excessive, and wrong. This club already has some of the highest membership costs in the area (we were paying 265$ for a 1 adult, 2 toddlers, and 1 teenager). I was also surprised that members are required to provide a doctor's note in order to place their account on hold. Also, feels excessive, and wrong. The amount to downgrade the membership feels disproportionate. And the policies here don't feel member-friendly. Even the staff makes me feel unheard. Why not pick up the phone and have a conversation with me instead of sending a cold email. Just acknowledge my frustration instead of making me feel like I'm being penalized.
