I must say, the most disappointing factor about the Burnet BBQ franchise is the constant price increase. Blame it on the state of the economy, that's fine. However, it becomes a bit ridiculous when the increase in price does not include a portion increase, too. Nevertheless, the grilled salmon is still the best item on the menu for me. The sides are okay (yellow rice, potatoes, carrots), but the cabbage is pretty good/better than the others. It's a convenient and filling option when you do not feel like cooking or want something quick. I rarely sit inside, I usually call ahead and pick up! I ordered from here for a work party. Huge platter of food for the money. We ordered the large size of chicken, ribs, and salmon - each came with a huge helping of seasoned yellow rice and a side. The salmon was deliciously cooked with terrific flavor! The chicken was moist and savory. I didn't try the ribs but they look delicious. We also got a helping of the fries, veggies (which was basically just potatoes and cabbage), and beans. For $49.50 - a party of 6 ate like kings. Really excellent food at a very decent price! My only compliant is that they wouldn't deliver so we had to pick it up and there is a lack of parking in the area. If I had more thumbs, I would give it 4 thumbs down. Arrived at around noon, to be greeted by an odd ball server, tried too hard to be funny/appealing. After ordering, proceeded to wait 45 minutes when there were a whopping 2 tables full in the entire restaurant. 45 minutes to cook, 2 pieces of short ribs and 2 halves of chicken. The food arrived and it was completely cold. When I say cold, I mean COLD, not warm, but absolutely cold. The short ribs felt like they came out of the fridge 15 min ago. The fries were cold, but the beans were warm. I guess you wins some and lose some. Also part of the ribs were covered in hot sauce that is only available on the tables. I am pretty sure my order of food was cooked earlier, returned by a customer who put the hot sauce on the ribs, and it was just partially reheated. There is literally no other explanation as to why my food was ice cold but my coworkers was as hot as the sun. I guess this is what I get for going this BBQ place instead of going to the original Burnet #1. To summarize: Crap cold food, greasy bony chicken, 45+min wait, weird waitress. Great food, great service, and even greater prices! This is definitely one for the books. I loved their menu and was very happy with their portions. Another plus for me was the space. Very rarely do we find a restaurant with such good seating. I went with a group of seven and was quickly seated at a comfortable-sized table. (The seating area was approved by those among us who have issues with overlapping personal space...so you know it's real!) Street parking was easy to find. The barbequed ribs and chicken were delicious and very well seasoned. Pricing wise, the chicken and/or ribs seem to be the best bang for your buck - you can get a half order with two sides for less than $10, which was plenty for my dinner. The staff were also nice and helpful. One note is that their kitchen area is right there, so you may get some oil smell afterwards. After ordering, we were sitting for about 15 minutes without food, so as she was coming past I politely asked how much longer would it be until we received our food...... she told me this verbatim "I DON'T KNOW, THE FOOD WILL ARRIVE WHEN IT'S DONE!" After another 10 minutes here comes our food, and I noticed as she was bringing over my friend's plate, she literally has her FINGER IN HIS PLATE. Once the food was dropped off at our table (table 8, I believe) SHE NEVER CAME OVER TO CHECK OK US ASK IF WE WANTED ANYTHING ELSE OR NOTHING. This rude indigent bitch went to everyone else's stable but ours. I mean am I the culprit for asking a simple question, I don't think so not when I'm the patron paying hard earned cash to patronize a business that needs my support. How Rude! And that's why I made sure my friend did not leave her a tip.... This place is great to bring a family and so affordable due to the large family style portions. The prices are right for a cute date evening with the booh or a few hahahaha. Try one of the sumol fruit soda drinks to accompany your meal. Everyone says try the pork bits they are great and I hear the salmon is amazing as well.
