When walking in here for Friday night dinner and seeing a bunch of white people filling up the restaurant I think that should've been our sign the flavor profile we were gonna get from here. The soup dumplings ended up having a sweet taste in the soup. The hot and sour soup was not sour at all, and I ended up, doctoring it a bit by asking for some vinegar. I would highly recommend against people ordering this if they're expecting the authentic Asian flavor profile. The beef noodle soup ordered medium spicy was not spicy at all and so next time if I ever go back, I'll have to get their extra spicy. And their tofu noodle soup did not have nearly as much tofu as the picture seemed to make us believe. The one thing I did really like was the wontons in the wonton soup so if I come back, I'll probably just be ordering that. Great food here, probably top 3 Chinese in Collin County. Where they lack is in the service department. There is a lack of order and structure on how tables/ responsibilities are divided across the staff. Waitress will disappear for extended periods of time and no one is there to help. This review is of the lunch specials at Kitchen Master. I also did take out. I originally came to this restaurant because I saw they had good lunch specials. I was heading out of town and wanted economical to-go quality food so I didn't have to cook before leaving town the next day. After arriving, I ordered and waited a reasonable amount of time for the to-go order. I purchased two lunch specials Mongolian beef and combination fried rice. The Mongolian beef came with soup, rice, and egg rolls. The Mongolian beef was delicious. My only disappointment was the quantity. I thought I'd get more food than I did even with this insane inflation. I also got the combination fried rice. I was very tasty too and the quantity size was better. The soup was ok and the vegetable egg rolls were fair. I will go back again because the food was delicious. Next time I will dine in. Hopefully the food quantity size is better. Based on the taste I would have given Kitchen Master 5 stars, but since the lunch size quantity was so small, I gave 4. read more

Stopped in after a concert. The place is cozy and clean. The house wontons were amazing, very fresh and tasty. We ordered the combination fried rice, which is only a combination of two proteins not all of them. We also ordered the Happy Family which were both great. Very mid in flavor. We got the Rangoon's that were good. I got the jalapeno chicken with fried rice but that lacked flavor. My husband got the happy family meal which was mid couldve had more flavor. Made it back for a second try! This time, we had to try the walnut shrimp & beef soup. Honey walnut shrimp is one of my all time favorite dishes. I had it for the first time in San Francisco many years back & Im always comparing new dishes I try, to that first, amazing dish. Kitchen Masters version is definitely on the top of my list. First, the size & quality of the shrimp is excellent. The light coating adds a delicious flavor & crisp. The mayo is spot on; not too much & not too little, adding the perfect amount of creaminess & flavor. The candied walnuts are good, but a few bites were a little bitter. If they were coated & candied a little more, that added sweetness would delete any bitterness I experienced & would increase the level of sweet/ savory taste, making it an even better dish. The beef soup had layers of flavor. My husband enjoyed this dish, describing the noodles as fresh, homemade awesomeness! The broth was like a beef Pho base - I personally found it a little strong, but I am the chicken pho orderer. I asked him if he would order this soup again, and he said, "yes!" The cuts of beef were hearty, thick & tender - a good quality cut of meat with a hint of fat, that he enjoyed. Over all a fresh & flavorful soup. We will back again as there is so much more for us to explore on their menu! One repeat dish my husband had to have was the shrimp shumai. He loves this one! For me, I believe gulf shrimp are used, which are not my personal favorite, due to a stronger flavor, but he totally enjoyed! What a Saint, because they were delicious. We ordered the Pork and Chicken dumplings and they were delightful. Melt in your mouth with a burst of flavor. We did prefer the pork over the chicken however. After eating one of the pork dumplings first, the chicken paled in comparison. Our entrées included Sesame Orange Chicken as well as Sweet Pepper Beef. Be warned, the sweet pepper beef isn't just a name for the bell peppers in the dish, the sauce is also very sweet. The two chicken dishes were the standout entrées however. You know those sesame chicken pieces you get at the local Chinese buffet? You know the one's that are hard and gristly and have very little chicken hidden inside the dense breading? Not here! Both the Sesame and Orange chicken contained big pieces of pure chicken with just the right amount of both breading and sauce. They were wonderful and came in a good sized portion as well. 1.5 Stars Overall. 4.5 stars. I would avoid the chicken dumplings and just double up on the pork soup dumplings. We've tried many Chinese restaurants here. Traditional American Chinese is mostly what we've found. We were on our way home and decided to grab an early dinner, and my wife found Kitchen Master on Yelp. It's like eating and Dickies then discovering Hutchins. The food here made me wonder if all the other Chinese food I've eaten was simply low level. No low level food here! We tried the fried dumpling sampler, the shrimp and pork soup dumplings, and the soft shell crab gua bao for appetizers. Best we've ever had! We also tried the mixed fried rice, Mongolian Beef, and Salt & Pepper Shrimp. The beef was so tender and flavor was amazing. The fried rice was obviously prepared in a seasoned wok, and was full of flavor. The shrimp were perfectly fried. The wait staff here were super friendly and accommodating. This has now been a go to spot for my family for Chinese food! The atmosphere is amazing with you being able to see into the kitchen to see their homemade dumplings being made from scratch. The service is always consistently good, and very attentive that you can tell they take great pride in providing a great Customer experience. The food is delicious all the way from the appetizers to the desert. My consistent go to appetizers is the dynamite shrimp, which is definitely some of the best that I've had, and the pork and shrimp dumplings are heavenly. It tastes fresh and is filled with flavor, and I feel like I could eat 100 of them and not get tired of it. Another great part about Kitchen Master is their portion sizes. When my entree arrives, I think there is no way I can finish, yet 10-15 minutes later it is all gone, and that goes for my whole family. Still a delicious place to eat, this is a family favorite for us. Today we visited as a party of 2 shortly after they opened. Service was quick and friendly. We were sat right away. They have great music playing softly in the background. We had vegetable house dumplings nonspicy. Loved it, would order again. Calamari - this wasn't our favorite and we wouldn't order again. Not much flavor and not crispy enough for our taste. I did bring home and will toast up more in the oven or air-fryer when I reheat. Orange chicken , shrimp stir fry and hot and sour soup were a hit! Going in it was pretty busy, but we made a reservation so we were seated fairly quickly. Overall service was great, our server was very accommodating and kind. Although many people were dressed fairly casual, the ambiance of the restaurant itself still gives a clean, moody, yet elegant. Definitely a higher end dim sum experience but so worth it. Food came out quick and we ate nearly everything we ordered with just a bit left to take to go. Cucumber salad was standard imo but i liked it, the wontons were by far my favorite and will be back for just those alone. Pork soup dumplings were amazing, The steam baos were pretty good too. Another star of the show for me was the chicken bites since i've been longing for authentic taiwanese fried chicken and i'm unsure if that's what this dish is exactly but it tasted just like my cravings. Picked up Lunar New Years dinner this year - it was a cold drizzly night so takeaway was the best option. After a :45 drive home, all dishes were still warm and delicious! Serving sizes were quite generous - we had tons of leftovers for the rest of the week. Ordered my husband the chocolate dumplings as he loves chocolate lol still not sure how we felt about those but he appreciated the effort. Soup dumplings were fantastic as were the steamed chicken and veggie dumplings. They greeted us in and immediately seated us at a booth, where we had ordered the beef noodle soup, which I had gotten extra spicy, was very flavorful, I enjoyed the option of all meat or split meat, getting to choose lean and/or tendon with my soup. This place rocked!! My girlfriend and I happened to be in the area on a Sunday and were in the mood for a solid binge of good tummy filling food and a casual but comfy place... Let me tell you, this was it. The menu was so cool i really appreciated all the pictures. Cucumber salad was perfect and crisp, riblets were delicious and sticky, and the orange chicken was on point. But what really blew us away was the soup dumplings. I have to say I've never been very impressed by a soup dumpling but these along with the chili oil was incredible. This might be the best Chinese option in the Frisco area. It was highly recommended by our neighbors and we have enjoyed it as well! The food is always good. My fave dishes have been the fried rice and salt & pepper shrimp. The shrimp is really fresh tasting and cooked just right. We've done take-out and dine-in. I prefer take-out. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The staff was blatantly rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. Basic courtesy was nonexistent. On top of that, the restaurant itself was unclean--dirty tables, grimy floors, and an overall unsanitary feel that made us uncomfortable eating there. The food was just as bad: poorly cooked, tasteless, and clearly not fresh. Some items arrived cold, others were sloppy and unappetizing. For a place that calls itself a restaurant, this level of filth, terrible service, and low-quality food is unacceptable. Save your money and your stomach--do not eat here. If you find yourself in this parking lot you would be way better off eating at Hutchins BBQ. Their food is great! read more

When most Chinese is primarily takeout these days, Kitchen Master provides a nostalgic dine in experience. They do a ton of takeout as well but I always dine in. They're known for their dumplings that you can watch them hand make. I'm not much of a dumpling fan so I go for the more traditional Asian/American dishes. If you go for lunch your generous meal also comes with a large cup of soup and a vegetable spring roll. Service is always good and the drinks are strong.
