Def not authentic, ordered a rellenos burrito and it wasnt even battered so it was stuff with mozzarella cheese not queso mexicano, as well as the ladies should not talk about people especially if a wedo or a weda with purple hair, they had no idea I speak fluent Spanish and they embarrased them selves horribly, apparently they think it's fun to talk about white people cause they think were stupid and dont know spanish, shame on all of you who work there, we are smarter than u think. I like to play games sometimes when I lie in bed here in sunny California and visually map things in Oregon from my memories in 2015. What came to mind right now was burrito boy. I remember coming in one night and ordering one of the burritos. I'm coming from a very biased California standard. Burrito was small, ingredients were very basic, and I was sad. Oh boy, do I love these breakfast burritos! Today I splurged on a burrito with bacon. No pictures because I couldn't wait to eat it. I find BB does a great job at balancing the ingredients to my liking; potato, egg, cheese (lots of cheese) and bacon. Top with a couple of tubs of green salsa and it's perfect! This item never fails to disappoint me. I added chips and salsa so I'd have them to Noah on throughout the day. The chips are good but today I found the red salsa more like tomato paste flavor. At this point Burrito Boy is so well known in Eugene, it almost feels redundant to profess my love for it online. That said, if you're not from these parts -- this is your stop for a gut bomb burrito in all forms, along with other tasty Mexican edibles. Sure, there are other places that are likely more authentic than this spot, but this BB is open 24 hours a day with a drive thru. Gamechanger. The breakfast burritos here are the pit stop to eternal satisfaction. There are several different combinations, but my go tos are the Machaca (shredded beef, cheese, beans, peppers, tomatoes, and eggs) and the Chorizo (potatoes, chorizo, beans, rice, eggs). At roughly $5 each, they are meals on their own. A little sprinkling of any accompanying salsa and you're on your way. Those not looking to capitalize on the breakfast burrito bandwagon are strongly encouraged to hit up the Chile Relleno Burrito ($6), or the classic "Bean and Cheese" burrito for our veggie minded friends. They'll toss in a complimentary helping of tortilla chips, which goes perfectly with the wet versions of either. Highly recommended to go the wet route, even if it is $1.50 more. Big eaters need to turn on their El Conquistador mode if they're to tackle the "Burro Suprimo" a ridiculous stacking of an extra large tortilla with all meats and fixins in it. Some might call it a garbage burrito but I think it would serve well as a precursor for a competitive eater warm up. I've never finished one in one try. Service is always courteous and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is worthy of a many returns. I cannot lie. I have eaten here numerous times....at all times of the day....Open 24 hours....you really can't beat that. It's not the greatest for Mexican food but it will do. It's inexpensive and will fill you up for days to come. This latest trip I ordered my usual Chicken wet burrito. For $7 you get a pretty large burrito filled with meat, rice, beans, sour cream, onions, cilantro....the works. Then it's covered in sauce and cheese and served with some chips. The 'enchilada' sauce used for the wet burrito could use some sprucing up. It tastes overly cheap and not flavorful. Alright, for the most part Burrito Boy is decent food for being 900 miles from the border. The food is watered down to about the needs of the community who can't eat authentic tacos and food that real Mexican cuisine is all about. I still go when I want shrimp tacos. However the location on chambers is not on par with the other locations. The cashier kids are rude and the food is not as quality as the other locations. Stay out of this one at all costs. read more

Apparently Burrito Boy is a staple here in Eugene, and I was eager to try a place that could be my Oregon version of Boise's Los Betos. We went at about midnight and the place had quite a few people hanging out and eating, which was nice to see. I ordered the Veggie Boy burrito which is just a basic bean and cheese with tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, cilantro and onions. It certainly hit the spot! And def less greasy than I had expected, which was rad. The bf got the El Burro "Suprimo" and before I could even snag a bite, it was long gone. The spot was super clean too, and gave us ample amounts of green salsa. I'd call this stop a success, and will totally come back again for breakfast burritos in the near future. read more

This update is in regards to the Burrito Boy location near Valley River Mall, Eugene. Because of its convenient location and its (originally) delicious food as well as fast and friendly service, I found it a real treat to engage in a Burrito Boy stop. Sadly, all of that has gone the way of 'Ol Yeller. First the service started to get shoddy, and then wrong orders were divvied out, to the ultimate breakdown of the food; overcooked tortillas filled with gobs of beans and little to no overcooked/old tasting (and often incorrect) meat. It really is a shame. I'm not sure what happened....new management? New staff? A combination of both? This is probably the end of a long relationship between me and Burrito Boy. p.s. I cannot speak to the consistency and quality of the other locations around town. Hopefully they prove to be better. read more

The worst taco I have ever eaten. The chicken was fried to shit and the shell was hard as glass and shattered when I bit it into it. There was zero moisture to this taco. It's late, you're snookered, and Burrito Boy is the only thing open. Sucks to be you. Okay, it's not that bad, especially if you've already extinguished most of your senses, but in all honesty Burrito Boy is substandard Mexican even for Eugene. The Boy is shade above Riva's pricewise and on par with Amigos. $6 will get you a burrito... and it piles up quickly to $8 or even $10 if you get creative (drink, tip, etc). As for the food, it doesn't hold a candle to the (few) good dives in town, and certainly would make any southwesterner or (gasp... a real Mexican?) throw up in his/her mouth. The burritos are severely overpriced for what you get. Size-wise they're reasonably plump, but the ingredients are crap (I've had more flavorful meals at Taco Time) and the few (three? four? it's anyone's guess!) chips that come with every burrito are almost insulting in their scarcity. FOOD POISONING BEWARE Went here 2 nights ago and ordered the "special" wet burrito that has pork beef and chicken. it was a large burrito and tasted very ok. i wasn't impressed but the portion size was good. i ate half the burrito that night and saved the other half for the following day. around 3am that morning i wake up with incredible stomach pains. subsequent gas and throwing up ensued. i wasnt 100% sure what caused this midnight agony. the following day i ate the other half of my burrito and sure enough 3 hours later i had the same reaction leading me to believe that, yes, indeed burrito boy poisoned me. i called the main office the following day and one of the managers listened to my story and pretty much discredited my account of what happened. first and last time at burrito boy thats for sure read more

I know Burrito Boy is a Eugene staple... We've been to a few of their different locations, some of which we've enjoyed just fine. Since we were staying across this particular Burrito Boy, we decided to stop there for a quick burrito-to-go before hitting the freeway. The lack of a drive through at this particular location was a bummer, but the long line even on a Sunday late morning was also disappointing. My husband and I ordered two veggie boy burritos with guacamole added to both. My stepson ordered a cheese enchilada plate with an extra enchilada. The order took nearly 20 minutes. While waiting I watched as three separate customers made complaints about wrong items in their orders. While the food in my order came out correctly, it certainly wasn't anything spectacular or stunningly delicious. If I were a hungover college student, would this satisfy? Probably. If I were a drunken college student, would the 24/7-open-hours be entirely enticing? Totally. But as a normal, visiting-Eugene-wanting-a-burrito person, I was left wishing we had grabbed a burrito or something else before heading out of town. read more

For being an establishment that is basically open for operation every hour of the week, you would expect the quality of the food to be below average which is far from the case for this little restaurant located a few blocks from campus. Our roommates are often up in the architecture studios until late in the evening and this is the default place to go when every other shop is closed. The prices are about average compared to other burrito restaurants in the neighborhood, but this place seems to bump off the rest of the competition by just a bit. Although we usually recommend ordering the wet burrito which is a decently sized meal unto itself, we decided to get the el burro burrito instead for a different change of pace. Wet burritos are about six dollars and are hefty as is so you could only imagine the size of a burrito that costs almost ten dollars. Though not comparable in size to the giant burrito at Gordito's in Seattle, it is still quite a hefty meal even for me to attempt finishing. Basically, the burrito is served wet and has about every ingredient available in the kitchen stuffed into it. And to describe the experience, it is difficult for me to stay awake after consuming the entirety of the burrito in one sitting. Staff is always relatively cordial and we frequent the restaurant often especially around finals week. Wish it was in a bit of a better location though since walking on Broadway or Franklin at two in the morning is a bit less than desirable. Not sure if it is worth risking my safety for a burrito though that is not to say we that we have not risked our lives for food in the past. read more

I like them as well as anything I've had in Southern California, where I lived for seven years. Reviews claiming that it's inauthentic and inferior to Californian burritos either ordered the wrong thing or didn't eat it with an open mind. Get the regular burrito with shredded beef.
