I didn't have any problems with the staff or the restaurant itself, though the weird lighting is kinda hard on my eyes. The burrito I ordered was super dry. Just everything in it was dry. The cheese was still in shredded form, not melted at all, and the burrito also wasn't warm at all, it was kind of strange. Even the guacamole and the sour cream on it seemed like it was straight out of the fridge in its stiff form. The salsa is also really runny. Not many chunks of anything in it so you cant really get anything on a chip other than wetness. Eh, I wouldn't try it again, sorry. read more

Walked in here on a whim when retro emporium was still closed and boy was it worth it. Coming in with a set standard and having it be blown off its ass with quality and value is insane. I had the carne asada plate lunch special and she had the huevos Mexicanos lunch special as well. Most places cheap out and half or less their lunch portions but no they stacked that shit to borderline overflowing which was a happy sight to see. Everything from the rice and the refried beans were perfectly seasoned and made unique from our usual tj and Jalisco style fare down in SoCal. Also most places we go to don't offer refills on anything outside of water and the fountain and having what tastes fresh made agua frescas fall under that as well hit different. One of the best tasting burrito that I had. The chicken and filling had so much flavor, unlike a lot of places which are tasteless with standard shredded chicken. Stopped by this gem on our way to Tacoma history museum. Chips were alright, not exactly warm and great. But I'm not going to deduct a point for chips! This authentic Mexican restaurant is veery small and in between buildings fairly close to the kent station so it is hard to find it if your not familiar with the area and it's surroundings. This is the third restaurant in this location since we moved to Kent in mid-2007. The previous two were Soprano's (Greek/Italian) and Bev's Cucina (Italian). This is Mexican food, and seems less Americanized to me than other nearby restaurants, and more reminiscent of my time in Los Angeles. I had a burrito with Carne Asada. A good size, and tasty. My wife had pork carnitas, which were unusual in the pork seemed almost like cubes from a chop, instead of pulled pork. They had a birria (goat) special according to a sign in the window, which they do in the stew style. I didn't try it, but hope to soon. Tortilla chips and salsa were provided for free as an appetizer -- obviously fried on the spot, and very warm. All in all, a very solid contender. Since moving to Kent there has been one thing I have noticed. That is the abundance of decent to great Mexican Restraunts. Sadly though Burritos el Incapaz is not one of them. How I heard about them was by a coupon on the back of a grocery receipt. That should have been a sign to stay away. But on those occassions I do find little hole in the walls that are great. As you enter the restraunt you see a small but cute set up. With a long communial table made up of several small round tables. As well as large flat screen tv. On this visit it was either slow or my friend and myself made the biggest mistake ever. Sadly it was the latter. The highlights will be presented first. The after dinner mint and the beverages. That is it. I wish I could find a highlight about our food. It is just not possible to. For our starter we got the nachos. Which at first glance looked amazing. A large plate filled with a heeping helping of nachos. But upon first bite. You realize that for one the cheese and nachos are all cold. Then when you dig alittle deeper the was a a vast amount of liquid from the pico and the salsa under everything. As per my usual I let a strike go by as the food was at least palatable. Then came the main course carne asade enchiladas. Yea well the enchiladas where covered in a blood red enchilada sauce. Which looked and tasted a lot like marinara sauce. Well they do serve pizza here as well. So maybe it was a mix up. It turned out it wasnt . Both my friend and myself couldn't come to eat the enchiladas. As he put it everything tastes like wax. The owner acted as if we where insulting to him by not eating his food. But that was not the case. It was genuinely bad and not worth the money spent. They just like the nachos where not hot and the cheeze was still solid and not melted inside. The carne asada again had no flavor was burnt and was cold. It was really just a awful expeirence. Would I go back? Would subjicate a enemy to this food? No that would be torture. Does 1 star equal what this place deserves? No that my friends is the greatest insult. Man. This was very good food. My wife and I were looking for a cafe to have lunch, and found our planned destination to be closed. So, we went to Burritos El Incapaz instead. I had two chicken tacos (con todo), with rice and beans. My wife had the torta with chicken. Sure, we didn't order the most complicated dishes... and didn't really have any expectations going in. But, we were really pleased. My wife said, "beans like my Mama makes them." And, of course, the salsa was home-made and superb. The freshly fried chips were super delicious. You also can't beat the price. We both had a _great_ lunch that left us satisfied for ~$13.00. I told the cook / waitress that the foot was wonderful and that we'd be back for a date night someday soon. This would definitely rank higher than what _used_ to be our favorite Mexican restaurant: Mi Charrito Taqueria (university district, Seattle, WA). I have been tired of chain Mexican food and have been trying more local places. I was very impressed with all aspects of my meal. The prices were very reasonable while the portion sizes did not reflect that. everything was hand made and you can really tell the difference. Both my wife and I could barely finish the normal sized burrito when we saw them come out with their seven pound "challenge" monster of a burrito. Along with that my son who is not really into the cuisine ordered some chicken nuggets, and they came out home made and as he put it "awesome, so good." The burritos are HUGE! They are about double the size of any burrito I have had anywhere. I can't find my receipt but I think the burritos ranged from around $8-$11. My wife got the spicy pork and I got the Carne? They didn't skimp on the meat and the burritos we had along with the meat are filled with rice and refried beans and lettuce if I remember right. You can make it a platter for like a couple of bucks more for a side of rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, small dollop of guacamole and sour cream added to the plate and about another dollar to add a red sauce on top of your burrito. Pass on the red sauce. It is like a plain crushed tomato sauce that needs work. They fry their own tortilla chips but they were overcooked as too far browned and it doesn't taste like a corn chip anymore rather than too toasted. Verge of burned. Both my wife and my burrito meat fillings were on the salty side. Other than the negatives I mentioned, me and my wife liked our burritos minus the salt. I have tasted better Mexican food but for the decent price for such a large burrito I will go back again. I just hope the salt matter was just an off day. read more

We just recently relocated from Renton over to Kent. I was driving around and found this little, as I LOVE to call them, "Hole in the wall" place. I was really excited, thinking that I might get some great Mexican food. So, when we had the opportunity to get out for a meal the other night, it was an easy decision to drive over to El Incapaz. That, my friends, was a very bad decision. When we arrived, there was just one customer in the entire place. He was sitting there, waiting for his order. We sat at a table and had a woman give us menus. She informed us that she'd be right with us. We perused the menu, and we shocked to find that it was quite limited, and a big chunk was filled up with pizza options, burgers, and a kids menu. It took about 15 minutes before the woman came back to take our drink order. We decided to order a beer (since we'd been told by some friends, on Facebook, that it was National Beer Day). This place offered THREE choices. That's it. Not impressed, we went with Corona. First, we were brought glasses, on a plate, with the HUGEST slices of lemon. The glasses weren't cold, and they were dirty. YUCK! And the lemons were way too big to put in the bottle. I prefer lime anyway. Our drinks were served, by their daughter. Normally, it wouldn't bother me... because I'm a huge supporter of small, family owned/run businesses. But, their daughter was MAYBE 10 - 12 years old. That's it. And, she brought us the beers, OPEN! This is illegal. A miner, and a very young one at that, brought us open containers of alcohol. It was quite disturbing, in our eyes. (Now, I'm from California... are the laws different here in Washington?) Our food finally arrived. We got a little order of chicken taquitos. THAT'S where we should have stopped with our food. It was decent, and we at through them without problem (even though the toppings were lacking something). When our dinner was served, we we both highly disappointed by the food. I got an asada burrito. It was barely passable for warm. My rice was cold and the beans tasted like they'd been cooked in a pot where the bottom burnt, and that burnt taste was in the beans. My wife got the carne asada platter. Same for her rice and beans. Her asada wasn't very tender and she didn't eat even half of it. We brought our food home, but didn't eat the leftovers. We didn't complain, because honestly, it just wasn't worth it. But, we won't be going back to this little "hole in the wall" again. I'm so glad that I'm going home, to San Diego, for a vacation, in a few weeks. I'm going to get my fill of Mexican food. Washington State, in the last year, has really left me unimpressed and sorely aching for REALLY GOOD Mexican food. Not that I haven't found enjoyable places, but there is always something missing. Wow! Just brought the whole family here, my two girls had 2 tacos each, my wife had the best tamale she has ever had and I had a HUGE burrito which also had amazing flavor! Let me get the negative out of the way first - service is slow, really slow. If you don't mind talking to whoever you're with - then this can be overcome with a little conversation. If you like a little less conversation and a little more action then ............... wait for it................................. put on some Elvis! Anyway, we went in looking for some machaca for breakfast (which they did not have) and wound up eating carne asada street tacos and some kind of Mexican scrambled eggs with beans and rice. Everything was tasty, beans were fresh, meat was tender and juicy - everything tasted really good. What really surprised us; we ordered a juice. Couldn't quite figure out what it was supposed to be from the menu or from the waitress' description (she barely spoke English) but it looked semi good so we ordered it. So we were talking (by that I mean we were each on our phones playing something or other) not paying much attention when I looked over and saw her actually making the juice - beets, orange, carrots - into the juicer they went and an ice cold glass of red juice appeared at our table. Now I'm not really a beet kinda guy, but this was pretty good. I might even order it again next time. One other note, salsa was kinda runny but it tasted good, hot. Chips were fresh-made on site. My BFF & I almost walked out after seating ourselves, & then waiting for a LONG long time to even have someone come to our table & give us menus. We had ALMOST left at that point, but, then she walked up with menus & I needed a little something before the drive home. We decided to stay.
