They serve with hot nachos cheese that stays warm until you get it home. Nice and hot, the asada was tender and the fries were crispy even though they are drenched in nachos cheese. I was surprised to see that there is a small lot located in the back which was great, I was prepared to park on the street but didn't need to. Inside the dining area had its nostalgic mexican charm - dingy florescent lighting, red saltillo tiles, and colorful papel picado was hung on the ceiling. There was booths instead of chairs which I appreciated. I could tell this place has been here for a minute and the walls had history. Couldn't wait to get the food ! It's easier to order if you can speak Spanish (thanks to my hubby) but no problem if you can't. We got 10 carne asada tacos, large horchata & a carne asada burrito (no beans). Carne asada tacos: wow !! these had SO much flavor. the meat was not dry at all !! the tortillas also were packed with flavor, not too greasy or not dry !! just so perfect. Lime and green salsa was the best on these. Horchata: 4/10. I just wish this was creamier. It was a bit watery for my liking & all I could think about was the taste of big red gum when drinking it. It wasn't terrible but not the best, but for a little over $3 for a large price is very reasonable. Carne Asada Burrito: This was for my husband as I'm not really into burritos. We were looking for carnitas in our local area to watch the mexico game. We needed three pounds of it since we were having a mini get together. My husband walked up to the window and they had ko problem fulfilling our order. Not only did they give us our food. They gave us tortillas and delicious sauce to accompany. They were not stingey with the sauce and gave us a whole cup. Places that properly provide portions of sides for what you order are almost non existent anymore. Loved this place but today made me feel Some type of way. The prices seem to be different (more) when charged than the menu price. The math isn't mathing what so ever plus they add more when dinning in and card fee when using your Apple Pay. Taxes are added as well which is understandable. Piled high with nacho cheese, jalapeños, and grilled onions, it was everything you'd want after a game or a late night. To wash it down, we grabbed a large Jamaica and Tamarindo. Total bill: $41. Definitely not the "20-something bucks" I remember from back in the day, but the quality is still worth it. Service was on the slower side, but honestly it looked like only three guys were holding it down, so I can't even blame them. They were hustling. The ambiance is chill. You can actually have a conversation without yelling, and they've got a TV running movies in the background. Tried this place for the first time not impressed the lady screaming the orders out instead of letting me know where to order let me stand their and figure it out for myself. The lenga by far was the best of the few I tried but the nachos not the greatest accompanied by only meat, nacho cheese and some vinegary Jalapeños. I haven't been here for some time. I have to say the nachos especial and papa nachos have not changed a bit. The taste is still the same but the prices have gone up and it's understandable. Parking is limited behind the place. Street parking is limited too but I usually park on the residential area, across the street. Service is great and fast. Today I was hungry for al pastor burrito. I went there after work. Got in line and ordered the al pastor. I ordered 3 cause my brother wants two also. I took a bite and it as rice and beans in it. I remember it never came with rice and beans. I took another bite and sure enough it came with it. Not much of a rice a bean eater. I was so disappointed on the burrito. Wasn't much meat either. I went to my brother's house to drop off the burrito. I told him it had rice and beans. He couldn't believe it. He ate a lot of the time there and it never came with rice and beans. He was also disappointed. I opened the burrito and scrap off the beans. I found out they put green beans in it too. First time seeing it on a al pastor. Old school since 1977. The one great thing about this place is that they are open 24 hours as with other restaurants around here close by 9pm. I ordered the Nachos Special with Carnitas and a Burrito de Lengua for the two of us. Nachos were spectacular the meat (Asada) was tender and savory, the guacamole, sour cream, picked jalapenos, onion and cilantro with both green and chipotle sauces on top is a "party" in your mouth. I do wish I would have gotten the all the liquids on the side because my nachos were soggy by the time I got home. Staff is very straightforward and quick. The spot itself has old school character. I have been going to Carnitas Michoacan in Los Angeles for years and it is an amazing go to spot for late night munchies or after the club since they are open 24/7. I always get the carne asada nachos with everything on it (onions and jalapeños) and they use hot melted queso cheese which makes it an easy 10 out of 5 stars for me every time. There is parking on the street or in the back, and after the clubs close it does get packed, but the line moves pretty fast because they are quick and efficient with orders. Salsas - they just got one kind and unless I'm craving El Taurino sauce, this is second best in town in my opinion. The reason I gave 4 stars is because they can be cheap about the sauces (ex. one per order), and I noticed the price increase that also has an odd service charge. Nevertheless I highly recommend this place if you are nearby. They have an inside but outdoor seating and parking (street parking options available). Late night eats! I found this place while Yelping for tacos open late in the area we were in. Saw this was a 7 minute drive from where we were and it was open 24 hours! Awesome- really excited to get some tacos. Our group that night had somewhat of a big order and here's how it went down... I ordered an all meat burrito with guacamole, onions cilantro and salsa. I heard the cashier say something along the line of it being extra for am all meat burrito and extra for guacamole. I didn't catch what he said but looking at my receipt later, he charged me $20 for an all meat burrito plus $2.75 for guacamole. The regular burrito on the menu is about $11 and extra asada says about $4. To top that off, there was barely any guacamole in my $23 burrito. It was my fault for not noticing it until after we left so it's fine, but I feel like I should let other Yelpers know that if they eat here, they need to pay attention to what they're being charged. Someone else in our group got charged $1 for a cup of water in a soda cup, another person in our group got free water but in a smaller cup... The food was fine, I don't think it was amazing but I wouldn't say it was bad. I'd rate the food alone a 6.5/10 and the overall experience 5/10. I saw this place everyday on my way to work. I always noted that it was 24 hours and had customers even at 6:00 am when I'm driving by. One day I forgot my lunch at home and decided to stop here. I got a carne asada burrito and some pastor tacos. The burrito was a healthy size, fresh, and really good. The pastor! DELICIOUS! Not too sweet just like I like it.
